Jae Chan was so righteous as a kid. I wonder…

Jae Chan was so righteous as a kid. I wonder how he turned into the apathetic, vain prosecutor we met at the beginning of the show. But kudos to Lee Jong Suk for playing this character. Most of the time he plays characters who are perfect right from the get-go, like ready-made male leads lol. Usually they're kind, clever, devoted, handsome, etc., but I appreciated that Jae Chan was kind of petty and vain and dismissive. He's definitely grown over the last 8 hours. I was especially impressed by his line where he said his feelings weren't more precious than a life, since usually the male lead's love is meant to be this complete, all-encompassing feeling that overrides everything else in the world. I haven't been super impressed by this show overall (though the writing has been fairly clever, and the humor gets me every now and then), but I respected that bit of writing for how it breaks from kdrama convention.
