DREAMS AND LAW!

I am a sucker for shows that has mystery/thriller vibes and this show is a perfect blend of both. I absolutely loved this show.

Plot: A news reporter is on a career break as she believes she will die on her duty in future. This is because her dreams become a reality. She meets a prosecutor who saves her life from a car accident - something that she had dreamed before. She had tried changing the reality but she couldn't. The prosecutor is the one who proved that the reality can be changed. He saved the reporter because he dreamed about her and the cop who gets killed in the car accident. Now, the news reporter, the prosecutor and the cop dream about each other's future events. All their future events are tied up with their professions and they help each other, while dealing with an evil attorney.

Cast: Not only the main leads, I also liked all the side characters except the evil ones. My favorite was Jaechan's brother, Daegu and Mr. Choi. We have all seen Mr. Choi as the villain in SWDBS but here he was just an exceptional hero for me. And throughout the show, I found myself more attracted to Jang Hae In than Lee Jong Suk...and even an unshaved Jang Hae In was too hot.

What I liked: Unlike other shows, where sub-plots are often created with new characters that the main leads are not quite acquainted, here we could see the sub-plots based on the people around the main characters. Eg. the reporter dreams about the barista from where she orders the coffee and the prosecutor dreams about the barista and the reporter being attacked. I love how they tied the stories neatly, inter-weaving them with perfection. My favorite scenes would be the robotic vacuum cleaner scene and Wootak's secret reveal idea by Hongjoo. The final episode had me drowning in tears. The cases were perfectly trialed in the courts and I loved every aspect of the cases. Imo, Yoobum could have been redeemed at a young age but matters got of hand and he turned out to be a devil. And I loved the bickering between Jaechan and his brother. Jang Hae In wasn't actively pursuing the love of the female lead despite being a second lead and that just adds more beauty to the show.

OST: That dramatic music score whenever something big happens - that was fantastic. Goosebumps!

Overall: 9/10. I will again watch it in future.

I know that my rating is choking for this drama lovers but let me explain : the story was good and the cases were solved intelligently but at some point their was repetition as in every time one the main characters is in danger and the other one is going to save him  thus in the end some of the events were predictable.
the highest rating for me goes for the acting and the cast :the chemistry between the main actors was great and  I fell in the love with Han Woo Tak from the first time .Despite that I've enjoyed myself watching this drama I wouldn't rewatch it because the hole story depends on how the events change surprisingly and every thing is solved in the end therefore you wouldn't enjoy watching it again if you knew what's gonna happen from the beginning .

It has to be 10/10, because it's really outstanding in many ways. The casting is fantastic. Every single character has a meaningful role & is an integral part of the story. It's nice that the second male lead did not mess up the romance as it happens 99 out of 100 times in a kdrama. Based on her music videos & pictures that I've seen before I really underestimated Suzy. This is the first time I've seen her in a drama & oh man she is so cool, I'm super impressed. Also the actor that played Mr Choi was awesome, just like Strongwoman Do Bong Soon. The OST at first listen seems nothing special, but it fits really well, it just grew on me. In terms of cinematography it's definitely top tier among Kdramas, in this respect WYWS is way ahead of Pinocchio.

There are negatives too. Some of the "fake law" explanations were just too cheesy. There could have been more lighthearted scenes and the ending, which is the last 30 minutes could have been less rushed, should have been an hour long at least. Hong-joo's mom's shenanigans were really unnecessary too.

Personally I liked Pinocchio more, because I found the setting more interesting and it was funnier & the story flow was better & also the dramatic parts resonated with me more, but maybe I only feel this way, because I saw Pinocchio first and the two dramas are extremely similar in many ways. So yes, While You Were Sleeping will definitively not dethrone Goblin as the best drama I have ever seen, not even close, but it's a top tier work, that I will remember for a very long time & will rewatch it, in fact I might enjoy it even more the second time around, because some strongly hinted potential plot twists made me lightly frustrated the whole time...

The first episode... Wow! If you're not drawn in by the first episode then I don't know what to tell you. I watched the first episode and I was hooked.
The acting and chemistry is very good among the cast. They do a great job showing the different emotions and there's a wide range of them.
There are so many heartfelt moments throughout this series where your heart will be truly happy. You'll also have to be prepared for some tearjerker moments as well though! I was emotionally invested and I think the writer did a great job bringing you back up after being down.
People should for sure give this show a try. You won't be let down!

I just finish watching this drama recently and how i regret my late decision to watch it?. Its not like any typical drama i have watched before. This is indeed a very good drama and a very perfect one from the storyline until the ost. Even though its a love triangle but both characters didnt even fight each other and i really love it. Overall the drama is very good and dont even let me talk about the ending. The ending was the greatest ending i ever watched fron kdrama and it give me the closure that u want.

Solid Drama

This drama had a good concept, good story, good humor and good execution to it. The only thing lacking was a good villain (although it had one it wasn't a good one in my opinion). Overall this was a solid drama with overall good scores and I liked it.

The story is based on the concept of prophecy of disasters. The concept is introduced at the very beginning when they shows us how the FL dreams about imminent disasters before they happen. The drama is mainly a Law drama with the ML being a newly appointed prosecutor. The drama is about how he the ML with strong moral compass (but fainthearted) solves the cases properly which the other prosecutors solved incorrectly or too lazy to solve. In this drama the dreaming portion has a significant impact on the story of the drama. This drama does have glaring loop holes but if you can ignore some loop holes it is overall an enjoyable drama.

I enjoyed it. Definitely worth the watch.

Overall- 10/10

Wow, what a drama. I enjoyed watching it so much that I finished the series within a day and a half. Everything about it was perfect. It's only the third drama I've watched and it's my favorite at the moment. Now what made this drama so good was the combination of an intriguing story, great cast, and thrilling music. Literally a masterpiece.

Story- 10/10

The supernatural theme of the realistic dreams the three main characters share adds interest to the overall- frankly, this is the most important aspect of the story that ties everything in. As for the genres, I think the "law" part is the most evident as that is what the story is about. One little thing I was wondering was of the romance being almost a separate plot point.

Characters- 10/10

Now the characters were very good. At first, I thought of Hong Joo to be meh, but I got used to her. As for Jae Chan, he was charming. The incompetent prosecutor on the outside but hard-working when you dig deeper. As for the side characters, they served their job well.

Acting/Cast- 10/10

There isn't too much to say about this, you have Lee Jong Suk as your male lead, and I thought Suzy was really good at portraying Hong Ju as a character who is depressed at times and cheerful at another. As for the other characters, Lee Sang Yeob did excellently at being the antagonist of the series. Wow, I hated this character so much, he was such a wicked guy.

Music- 10/10

Soundtracks were really good. The one I liked the most was of the violins going to high notes and back down during the most suspenseful moments. It really added to the thrill of the moment, which always gave me chills down my spine. Suzy's track, "I Love You Boy". was very lovable and soothing to hear.

Enjoyment- 10/10

Every second of this drama was amazing. There was a great balance of thrill and comedy in the plot. I finished this drama too fast.

Rewatch value- 10/10

I would rewatch this series anytime. It was that good. I first need to watch other dramas.

luv it.

This is definitely one of the best well-written kdramas I’ve ever watched.
If you like watching kdramas about laws etc I would recommend this for you
It’s a type of drama that you wouldn’t get bored of, every episode gets even more interesting
and more cases to do.
The fact that my faves are the main cast here makes it even more better heh..

I also cried watching this drama so be ready for it.

Story: 9.5/10
My first question about this drama why is it called “While You Were Sleeping” and I finally got my answer watching it, it’s about the main cast dreaming about what will happen to their life and other people lives in the passing time which what i totally love about this show the storyline is
very interesting.

Acting/Cast: 10/10
The cast were good choice they all pulled their characters well.
The chemistry between Lee Jong Suk & Bae Suzy is powerful
they totally stand out as a couple in the drama.

Lee Jong Suk- He fitted the role, his acting is always cool & simple
but the best.

Bae Suzy- She always has role were she embarrassed herself in public lmao.
But her role is always savage & has big confidence, actually out of the drama
she’s been in this role fitted her the most.

Jung Hae In- He was my favorite here, but he was pathetic,
they did him poor, second lead syndrome can’t be missing in
kdramas. I cried for him but since I don’t wanna give spoilers
or it will ruined the show I ain’t gonna give anything.

Lee Sang Yeob- Even though how many times I hate him in the drama, you can’t ignore his amazing acting skills.
His facial expressions & his handsomely face is attractive so dislike
him or not you will fall for him just like jessi hah..

Music: 9/10
The soundtrack is amazing definitely my fave.

“I love you boy” is a masterpiece + it was by Bae Suzy.

“When Night Falls” by Eddy Kim ughh when i hear it, makes my
heart flutters also one of my favorite the song was really good
& the singer of it just fitted the song so much his voice was
amazing.

Out of all the songs this two were my favorite.

just superb

worth watching .......this drama can make one think of different beliefs even they are not true ...like literally forecasting something that has not happened but will happen in the future and you dream about that ..and I even dreamed about being like that..superb it can bring good and bad also and the ML and FL acting was just so perfect and also having a second ML to just make it more perfect ???....and the way how the story goes ..like most of the times it's the same, the story goes like happiness to being sad and in this also its the same, first they showed all the comedy from the Male and Female leads meeting to the twist in between by taking in the picture the second male lead and how they came together to solve all the cases and also the past relationship and along the way how they tackled with everything and in the last it was really a happy ending after all the problems. The main thing, the OST of this drama is just superb ..atleast for me it really calmed my mind and I felt so peaceful .....just superb.??
