When you watched season 1, you can`t help but compare it to season 2. And if anything, I prefer season 1. Because first and foremost, Eun-jae`s character, I have no words. I know the OG had prior engagements but they could have found a better actress to replace her. No hate on Jiwoo but her acting was so awkward the entire drama. Also, what made them think altering Eun-jae`s character like that is a good idea. It just made Jiwoo as Eun-jae an unlikeble character when she was my favorite in season 1. And saying Yi-na`s story was done that`s why they gave her a guest role, that`s probably a lie. We all know come on. The only redeeming part of this season are the stories of the OG characters. The 360 character change for Ye-Eun was amazing but they still left some of her characters from season 1 which is good. We also get to see Jin-myung`s work life in a new light. I would have love to see her together with Jae-wan more but oh well. And my favorite of all Jiwon. Her past wasn`t tackled during season 1 at all so I had no idea how they`ll make her past story but wow, that was so out of nowhere lol. There`s also one lacking part tho. I was expecting more of her and Sung-min`s developing romantic relationship in this season but was disappointed. I really hop they make a third season after all these years.

i dropped this a few years ago bc i was so annoyed w the "new" eunjae. her role along w her acting made me skip her scenes it was overall annoying but i am soooo glad that i picked this back again, somehow it completed me ??? its fresh slice of life description made me realize that everything happens for a reason, no matter how good or bad the situation is there's a million ways that its cause is a motive of the future (like when jo eun was introduced as a new tenant, when ji won fainted at the club; it's all connected with others) anyways, it's nothing comparable as s1 and still no jiwon & sungmin :((

If you want to understand Age of Youth 2, you need to watch Age of Youth 1, as the story of some of the girls still runs. The actress that played Eun Jae in Age of Youth 1 got replaced, and I didn't like her. Already her character was quite annoying-perhaps that was the idea behind her character, but at least the first actress was cute and childish in a way, whereas the one in Age of Youth 2 was just annoying, thought that she deserved the break-up.

Overall I liked the drama, my favourite character has to be the beautiful and charismatic Song Ji Won, which played so well and she was just so fun to watch. I was also let down by the drama (twice ) as there was huge potential to promote activities which would raise attention towards female violence and rape in a society which usually turns away from these things which are lamentfully seen as shameful. I think they should have involved the girls in societies around the Uni campus but also writing in the Uni magazine about these real life stories that happened to women with the aim of forming a group of people that shared their experiences and gave support to each other. I think considering Korea is nr 1 country for suicidal deaths, they had such a great opportunity to promote thorough this drama different ways how females can seek support (and not just hide it from everyone) after violent attacks and how to be united in cases like this. Most probably the viewers of this drama are mostly girls, so all I have to say is, be safe, be wise and seek support, dont be alone!

It is one of the best Kdrama I've watched. Bith Season 1 and Season have a great story. There is life realization that even as watcher, u will force to look back on how is ur life had been going, and how u live ur life so far.

I don't like the girl who portrayed Eun Jae. There is something where she lacks. I don't feel any chemistry between her and Jung Yeol. During their break up/ closure scene where Eun Jae beg for Jung Yeol to love her again, I don't feel like crying. Tbh, I felt the second hand embarrassment for her. I love both season 1 and season 2, but I don't like how they write the character of Eun Jae in this Season. She only thinks about her love life most of the time.

But over all it is worth to watch. I fell hard to every cast especially Park Eun Bin. She is a great actress as in big WOW.?

I had thoroughly enjoyed the first season and was looking forward to watching the second season but it turned out to be a disappointment . I feel like Eun Jae's character changed for the worse ( not just the actress but also her personality is so different from the first season where she was introverted but strong and thoughtful ) as she became a stereotypical flower girl , acting all cutesy and focusing mainly on her ex ... Jin Myung was my favourite protagonist and still is but I feel like she could have gotten more character development . Ji Won cracked me up as always with her wits and quirkiness . As for Ye Eun I definitely liked her more in this season , seeing how she learned to be less judgmental, superficial and more considerate. Jo eun's cold and rude behavior got on my nerves at first , but eventually she lets down her guard and shows her true self . In brief , although this season didn't meet my expectations , I can still say there were parts I found enjoyable .

I love this drama. I watched this because of atty woo young woo and I did not expect to like it so much. Finished the 2 seasons in less than a week. Season 2, for me, is a lot better than season 1. It was funnier and we got a lot more jiwon and sumin scenes. I'd be really disappointed if we dont get a season 3. There are times in kdramas, even great ones, where there are filler episodes which is really boring(looking at you goblin). This one never bored me. This is a great coming of age drama and on my top 10 kdramas of all time, along with reply1988, my love from the star. 100% recommended!

Great slice-of-life show!

This can be a very easy-to-watch slice-of-life show with some drama sprinkled throughout! The characters are loveable and goofy and you can relate to at least one character I'm sure. There was definitely a cast change into the 2 seasons that I did not prefer so I do like the first season a bit more. I also love how they portray the different relationships in this show and the different struggles within them. I found this a very refreshing and relaxing show most of the time and considered it a good watch! Wouldn't have minded more seasons!

First off, I'd like to say, I reallllllly hope they come out with an Age of Youth 3!
If you've watched the first season, you will know that two of the main actresses are no longer in the show. One appears once or twice over the season while the other has been switched for a new actress. This annoyed me when I first heard it but I was surprised at how much it actually bothered me the further i got into the show. The hints of humour at the actresses new appearance helped my opinion of it greatly.
The music in this show is incredible! I have downloaded the entire soundtrack, it's that good.
The story is generally really good and mostly relatable, especially as a student in an all girls flat. Sometimes things aren't totally explained in the drama, this allows you to think about it, but I think it wasn't used well in all cases. I like that in the drama things do not end "Happily Ever After" or the complete opposite of this. It somewhere in the middle sticking to it slice of life genre very well.
I probably will watch this again, especially if they bring out a new season!

Still the same fun, but a little bit plain. I can't help but to compare with season 1 since I really enjoyed and adored the previous season. S2 still has the same fun of the relatable living with different characters of people. What I like would be the same as s1, it was light, fun and relatable. But, there are things I don't like too. First of all, we need Kang Yi Na. In the early episodes I felt fine not having her, but then it really feels empty. Her character really match with the whole series vibes, we need that one bold character. Second, they shouldn't have change the cast for Yoo Eun Jae and instead just bring a new character. The actress, Ji Woo tried so hard to act like the s1 Eun Jae and it feels so awkward. Third, I really dislike eun jae's character this time. I don't think her character was supposed to be hated, but I hate her. One that act all nice upfront yet talk all the bad things behind, I wish there was character development for this though. And half of the series was her chasing her WTH?? Anyways what I really look forward the whole series was definitely Ji Won x Sung Min. Ahh I wish we could get more of them :')) But not really a big fan of Ji Won's story, since it was darker. I enjoy dark theme dramas but I was hoping to enjoy this series with rainbows and fun only huhu. anyway I love them regardless, if there's chance for s3 I wish we could get Kang Yi Na and get Park Hye Soo as Eun Jae back.

What a Ride!

This will be kind of a double review; Age of Youth and Age of Youth 2. I didn't write one for Age of Youth because I feel like I had to watch the second season and gather all my thoughts in one go to see how I really feel about the show as a whole.

When I started the show I wasn't sure because recently I've had a bad streak with slice-of-life dramas but I stuck with this one and I'm very glad I did because there was not a single character I didn't like and I genuinely loved the whole main casts line and also the supporting cast.

I don't really do well with drama with 5 main characters because sometimes it could get too full and cramped but the script wrote each and every character well and spread them throughout the story while intertwining them all.

First off Yoo Eun Jae, In season 1 she was played by Park Hye Soo and I loved her whole vibe since she played the shy introverted pure-hearted very well. Even though I'm a male I emphasised with Eun Jae the most as we have similar personalities. That was why in season 1 she was my favourite character. Her whole storyline in season 1 was very interesting as she had a love life and a childhood trauma that haunted her to her young adult days. In season 2 they replaced her with a new actor to Ji Woo, I'll be 100% I didn't like Ji Woo as much as Hye Soo. I felt like Ji Woo looked unnatural playing the shy character and I felt like the script tried to show that she grew and developed as a character but at times it was quite jarring to watch. Her storyline in season 2 was quite boring as it was basically her trying to win back her boyfriend from season 1 which she eventually gives up in the latter half of season 2.

With Jung Ye Eun, in season 1 she was the classic college girl in the share house, she had a boyfriend wore all bright colours and had a cheery personality which I personally really liked. Ye Eun by the end of season 1 went through quite a lot as she became a victim of relationship violence and ultimately had to undergo therapy and was scared to go outside from the fear of something might happen to her. In season 2 she became a timid character when she went outside but when she was with people she trusted she became herself again. In season 2 Ye Eun became my favourite character as she goes through a really tough storyline and her character develops as she gains her confidence back. The actress Han Seung Yeon who played Ye Eun just seemed to play her perfectly and was very natural. Her relationship with Kwon Ho Chang was very cute as they were opposites but they were attracted with each other as they have similar experiences and Ye Eun needed to meet a sweet person and she got that out of him.

Yoon Jin Myung was very much the mother of the house, everyone looked up to her as an older sister and respected her. Her story in season 1 was interesting as we see that she is not well off and has multiple part-time jobs to support herself financially as she had to pay college debts and also her mom's debts. Han Ye Ri played Jin Myung very well and just fit the role really well. I felt like she had the hardest time out of everyone else as she was the oldest so getting a job and becoming settled in life was her goal as she didn't go to college. In season 2 she gets a job at an entertainment company in which in my opinion was a weird job for her personality but she did meet a great person who is like a little brother to her because of it.

Song Ji Won is what every share-house needs. She was eccentric, loud and positive which at times kept the overall mood on the house positive. Her story wasn't really delved deep in season one which was a good thing because her story kicked off in season 2 and was very interesting and I felt like it would've made season 1 too jam-packed. Song Ji Won is played by Park Eun Bin and I've seen her other works and I must say this was perfect casting as she was just pure entertainment in every scene she was in. In season 2 we see she still her same chipper self but with the addition of the mystery of what happened in her childhood, It was actually quite fucked up once we find out what happened to Moon Hyo Jin and I'm glad it came to light in the end.

Kang Yi Na was a very intriguing character as she was a very bold and confident person. In season 1 her story was sometimes heavy because she had the backstory of that event in which she was the sole survivor and then met the father of a child she knew without realising who it was. She also had the term "prostitute" thrown at her as Ye Na called her that because she had multiple boyfriends and got money from them. Ryu Hwa Young has the perfect image for Yi Na as I couldn't see any of the other housemates have her role. I liked how she didn't take any shit from no one and even though she had arguments with her friends she always defended them and had their backs which I really liked. She wasn't present for the majority of Season 2 as she only had cameos. But every time she was on screen the scene she was in was never boring for a second, episode 1 was probably one of my favourite episodes with her in.

In season 2 we got the addition of a new housemate Cho Eun. She first came off as a standoff-ish tomboy who didn't want to associate herself with the group but the more she mingled with they she saw the good in them and started to warm up to them and show that inside she is a cute and sometimes timid girl. Choi A Ra plays Cho Eun in which this was her acting debut and shes not been in anything since but I really wish we could see more of her. Her friendship with Ye Ji was complicated as people thought they were lesbians as they were too close but in the end, they brushed over this topic and the two friends eventually drifted apart so if we get a season 3 they will make that a plotline.

The OST was surprisingly good as I never skipped the opening to the show as it was just such a catchy song. The other OST throughout the seasons were also good, with Age of Youth OST being slightly better than Age of Youth 2.

Overall this show was a nice breath of fresh air as recently I've been watching quite serious shows so I needed a light-hearted slice-of-life coming of age drama. If you're looking for a drama in which is a female main cast in which explores the different stages of life with each of them then I recommend this show as it also has some good laughs that come with it.

Writing this from memory as it was quite awhile ago i finished this drama. Sequels or second seasons are actually hard to come by in Kdramas and harder too to keep the momentum. Majority of the cast comes together again for AOY2.
Recapping by characther:
-Jin Myung):Season 1 i felt the most affected by Senior Yoon (Jin Myung) and by Season 2 i really felt shes come a long way and grown. Love it when i see her chef bf- wish we had more scenes of them together)
-Ye Eun had the most drama by the end of season 1. Season 2 shows a realistic and sometimes painful road to recovery. It's not easy being a survival and a victim of violence.
- Ji Won - the most animated housemate. We mostly saw her antics in Season1. Finally in Season 2 theres more on her story, And dont get me started on Sung Min. Both of them are adorbs and the chemistry together is really off the charts. (Praying drama Gods let them reunite in a drama again)
- Eun Jae - same character but recasted - in my opinion they should have written out EunJae and let the actress Ji Woo inhabit a new character. Its too confusing to see her as EunJae when you still have Park Hye Soo's face in mind. Further EunJae' story arc here is also the least impressive
- Jo Eun - new gal played by Choi Ah Ra - refreshing character and her backstory and her story arc with Jang Hoon (played by DOTS actor Kim Min Suk) was cute
The writer and pd maintains the mystery n intrigue vibe throughout the drama. Hwa Young also guest role in her sassy character of Kang Yi Na.
Keeping the episode capped at 14 was great. Story, flow and pacing was spot on. It was a lovely ride to check back in with the girls of Belle Époque.
* Fans wanted a Season 3 and i think chances are slim. I'm quite satisfied with how we were left off and hints of what's in the girls' future.
