The Story Stinks
I know this is a short drama but they have put some effort into it. Starting with the lead female characters. Could they have pick girls who were similar to each other. I believe the mask just change her weight. But the mask change her height, hair color, facial appearance and body shape. That should have been a miracle drug not a mask. I kept getting annoyed by the original girl lead because she wanted love but was not really willing to change for it by herself. They made heavy girls have no ambition because of self esteem. But she was willing to put on a mask to fool people especially the person she liked. Sorry but not believable. Then they thru an evil devil like person was doing all these. Not believable. The writer should have improve the whole story. This one stinks.Was this review helpful to you?
Better than what you think
This was a very intriguing drama/web series to try and rate because I still am unsure of what the overall morale of the story was. It was never bad or boring in my opinion, but it also wasn't overly amazing or interesting either. The story was just there, almost sometimes non-existent in face of serious scenes needed for the cast to have their limelight.However, there's something about the story that made me want to keep watching, like an almost mystery regarding it. It made me want to watch more after each episode, because it was highly unpredictable.
The easiest and most definite positive was the acting, especially by Park Jeong Hwa, although I do think every character here was also great, but Park Jeong Hwa was in a league of her own. I also loved each character; they were different enough to make the web series/drama entertaining and had enough depth to make them really believable. Seemed to me like a good casting choice, great acting, great characters. The OST also was really nice too.
Do I recommend Mask? Yes, if you've just finished a bunch of "heavy" dramas and need something "light" to watch, or if you're coming from a "drama slump". Then Mask is definitely for you.
