This movie is very cute and fun! If you like anime or just happen to be an otaku yourself, you can relate a lot to this movie. The actors played their roles very well thought I think the story could have used more depth. It is one of those movies that is very easy to watch and enjoyable. It is a nice little twist on the usual "couple's struggle" type of story. read more I don't actually remember the music, so I just gave it an 8. This movie is definately worth watching. :)

When I saw the title for this and read the summary I instantly wanted to watch this movie. It seemed so cute and original. Sadly the best part of this movie was probably the summary, because thats as about interesting as it gets. About 15 minutes into watching it, it just gets boring & really predictable. I can be okay with predictable, but boring? ugh. I thought this movie had really great read more potential but sadly it just falls flat. I really can't think of an instance of when I would recommend this movie. Even if it were just on in the background you should still probably pass.

Although one is a drama and the other a movie, both tackle the dating lives and problems of people inserted in the otaku culture. How to Date an Otaku Girl is also very funny, especially if you're familiriazed at least a little bit with the fujoshi culture. If you understand what the word 'fujoshi' means and you liked Date, you'll difinitely like How to Date an Otaku Girl.

totally different story-line.. but one familiar with otaku may appreciate this other movie as well.

If I were a guy, I personally would NEVER date a Yaoi fangirl/fujoshi. xD (No offense!) Alot of them just make me feel uncomfortable and they know no bounds, like the girl in this movie... Unfortunately most girls that label themselves as an "otaku" are also a fujoshi, from my 15 years of experience being in the anime fandom. Feel so sorry for guys that have to deal with this. XD

I believe this has book adaptations because I bought them and found them surprisingly similar to this movie. If anyone is interested, the series is called "My Girlfriend is a Geek" by Pentabu.

Actually, it all started with the novel by Pentabu which was then adapted into a manga and live action
