Both share the a very similar sub-plot of a father who is deeply effected by the loss of his daughter that he neglects his family as he mourns. In both cases, each father finds closure on her return. A Doppelgänger in one and a her spirit in the other.

More like it’s a ‘ghost series’ suicide and the plot that is quite messed up yet still been fixed up as they try to write the story… it’s quite interesting that they make it intense but in the end we would think ‘so what was the point of this story and what message they’re trying to give to us?’ Something like that… not the best for both but I think it was quite fine for both…

There's a close resemblance with the plot of the 2 series particularly in the beginning of the story and it shares the same vibes <33

By the same director, both stories revolve around the suicide of the fl and the consequent guilt carried by their family and close persons.

Furthermore, both share the depiction of a Brother-Sister Relationship, in which the brother tries to understand and discover the reason behind what his sister did.

Plus, the vibes! Pretty similar in terms of scenarios, wardrobe, little details how the way both take care of including shot of house-made food to give a home-loving feeling to some scenes. I also noticed both series are not set in Bangkok as usual but a more rural city/village, what's refreshing! To sum, it is obvious the director's touch.

About the differences, Happy Birthday has supernatural elements just like the fact the ml can see the ghost of his sister, depicting a storyline about family problems and depression. In contrast, The Comments tries to be realist and raising awareness about problems on social media and cyberbullying.
