Unbelievable Story. Bad Acting. Hard to believe its the same Park Shin Hye of Doctors. I can clearly see as a woman even while trying to disguise her as a man. I find is hard to believe that twin boy and twin girl looks the same. Even more hard to believe that they can change so easily. The plot is unnecessarily angst ridden in the second half. The music is of course pretty good. Even the background score is amazing.

Uee was pretty good as the Korean sweetheart/villain. I had a bad case of second lead syndrome with Shin Woo. I think Yong Hwa and Shin Hye had such a nice chemistry plus his character was so sweet that it made so many people fall for his SLS charm. I mean compared to the maid lead's narcissist personality. I understand that Tae Kyung had other family drama, but with the regular pouts and guyliner, I was massively irritated with him.

This is my least liked drama of Hong sisters. Anyways the drama is still fun to watch. I realized I am biased towards the story because I did not like the main romance. But you can go and watch this very famous drama for good music and nice fun filled-angst-ridden ride.

Because of the title, I didn't really want to watch it at first. I'm also not such a HUGE fan of gender bender, but my friend insisted on watching this, plus it starred Jang Keun Suk (whom I'm a huge fan of) and so I decided to watch it. I don't regret this. It would've received a 10 if it weren't because Park Shin Hye was sort of dumb, and the events that led to the ending weren't so liked by me. Also, Yong Hwa's character... I admit it, at first I felt bad for him. But later on I was like "man up!", even if I'm a huge fan of CN Blue (Yong Hwa in general). Jang Keun Suk, Uee, and Hong Ki's characters were, for me, the highlight of the show. Sukkie was too darn cute, Hong Ki was too darn funny, and Uee, even though she's the antagonist, managed to stay on my good side throughout the entire show. The funny scenes are indeed hilarious, and those dances and imagination rounds the characters had were a plus. I also like the random English words the director of A.N. Jell randomly shouted out. This is not the first drama I watched. And even though I credit Full House and Marry Me Mary for opening the doors of the k-drama world, it's You're Beautiful that opened the doors to k-pop and my obsession.

The cast all worked well together, which is good when watching a series. The acting was well done. The only down side I think I had with this, was when the brother came back there was little to nothing to do with him.. Wish they had at least one scene with them both in it. But this series is worth watching more than once, I honestly got hooked.. [though to be fair, if a series takes me more than 2 episodes to get me hooked i tend to drop it haha<3] If you get stuck on a part of the series [which i doubt] keep going, this series is amazing! Kinda wish they brought out a second season for it, to show theirs lives after this series.

This was the very first time I fell in love with Jang Keun Suk because of his Hwang Tae Kyung role, I am so grateful with You're beautiful.
The OST of this feel-good rom-com still lingers in my veins, I memorized every details (I am not Korean) haha!
I even bought a pig-rabbit plush toy because of my obsession. ((:
I was depressed and felt helpless before I watched this and I am thankful for this KDrama for pulling me back on track in life.
Moral-lesson that I learned from this drama: Love is something to be enjoyed at the moment and chased at the right time.

Be careful, this drama is ADDICTIVE

I don’t write reviews, but this one is exceptional; I specially created an account only for the drama.
Where can I start?
I fell for the male lead- Jan Keun-Suk, who had the second male lead syndrome, and Jeremy. They were funny bubbly, and Park Shin Hye did a terrific job. I wouldn’t say I like her roles, except this one. Both ML and FL had great chemistry, and it’s visible. And all soundtracks are chefs kiss.
If A.N. Jell were an honest group, I’d buy their album. You will laugh, cry and scream during the show. Oh boy, it’s not for teenagers; it’s for everyone who has young hearts. I became their fan. And the ending was satisfying and eye candy. ML has similar pride to me ? overall, I highly recommend this to watch! OST songs are on my playlist.

If you haven't watched this series, what are you waiting for?

This is one of my feel-good series, will never get tired watching and revisiting my beloved characters, Tae Kyung and Go Mi Nam and the rest of A.N JELL. I've watched this ever since it was showed, which was year 2009! (My Gosh! I'm an a certified auntie of watching Korean dramas, LOL!) I am a huge fan of JGS and been waiting for a long time for him to have a drama wherein he will be the main lead and alas, HONG sisters fulfilled my wish come true.

The story is one of my interest, the gender-bender theme, plus my main guy, JGS and my favorite HONG sisters, so I really followed through with this drama.

Everything is HILARIOUS and interesting in this drama, from the story, OST, characters and my favorite DWEJITOKI stuff toy.

This is a not complicated drama, and you'll just simply enjoy watching them. So if you are still hesitating watching this, please, try watching it and enjoy it.

Even if it's such a long time since I have watched this perfect drama, I still remember it like it was yesterday. Lee Hong Ki had to have been the best comic relief in this whole show, and I loved his performance more so than the main characters.
Park Shin Hye has always been one of those actresses that has a lot to go one when it comes down to acting, but even then I really liked it and I had actually hoped for her to end up with one of the other guys in the show.
However, this is a guilty pleasure and you just have to watch it to get it out of your system, and for those that haven't done so yet, just do it. Your not gonna regret it any time soon!

A special gem that remains funny, fresh, and sweet

I watched this just now, 12 years after the show has originally aired, and I was surprised by how much I like it. I rarely watch older dramas and the very few ones I do, I usually fast-forward through most of the side plots to get to the core story (like 2005's Biscuit Teacher).

Having watched most of the Hong Sisters' dramas, I thought I've seen it all and wasn't paying attention in the first 2 or 3 episodes. But the show kept managing to surprise me and the characters are so endearing and well-written that I think this might end up among my all-time favorites.

As a side note, You're Beautiful was eclipsed in ratings by the blockbuster IRIS back in 2009 but interestingly enough, I don't see IRIS getting recommended anywhere anymore while You're Beautiful remains just as loved by k-drama watchers.

Jang Geun Suk and the rest of the cast were simply awesome. Glad they got this project to look fondly back at such a fun time in their lives.

i was in high school, relying on livejournal communities for torrents to watch dramas when i watched YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL for the first time. i am now almost 30. rewatching this on a whim has been such a trip down memory lane. in a lot of ways this drama holds up, though i do think there are a number of cracks that are more apparent than i initially perceived (i mean, obviously, i was like 14 when i watched this for the first time). while not the worst offender considering the time this was airing, shin-woo's behavior in this bordered on creepy at times and full on Nice Guy (he improves but, like, kinda just want my secondary romantic interest to be a normal dude who catches Intense But Unfortunately Unrequited Feelings). it was a little jarring! it's also incredibly tropey in a way that, like, i absolutely see where people can or would turn away from this. the lead is absolutely, absurdly unintelligent--i mean, the cast is composed of not the brightest, in true hong sisters fashion--but naive, sweet, and sincere. park shin hye really shines in selling this and she is truly such a fantastic comedic actress. the romance builds and while it has its bumps, it sucks you in and....genuinely......i'm almost 30 & my hearts still fluttering from the Feels. a straight shot of serotonin, honestly.

You're Beautiful Review

Fun, lighthearted drama. The comedy might be outdated as it was originally televised more than 10 years ago from today, but it's still easy to enjoy. Episodes 1-5 were super cringey/funny for me during rewatch, it was only around episode 5 or 6 when I started taking things seriously.

The story involves some K-Pop culture references, so it may add to your enjoyment if you're into those things. The main cast is loveable-it's amusing to see their interactions/dynamics, and they're easy to remember. Shin Hye was so adorable and Yong Hwa as second lead was just perfect.

The soundtrack is really good and catchy. The fact that most of the songs were sang by the actors themselves makes you feel like they really are a boyband.

『 Why I liked it: light tone / Park Shin Hye / charismatic cast / good music 』

Perfect

I know I'm late on this, but wow...after watching, this is by far my favorite kdrama yet. I loved every single character, every one of them. I like that none of the relationships felt forced or thrown in, everything just felt organic and real. I honestly don't even know how I'd never even heard of this one before and I'm pretty sad I missed out on it for so many years. Without giving anything away, I'll just say the way they wrapped it up was satisfying enough that it didn't need more but definitely left you wanting more. I know there are other versions, but the casting for this was so perfect I really can't see the others having even close to the same feel. I also want to throw in that I was having major gender envy the entire time, the main character really did pull off both better than I thought she would.

a great starter

this was one of my first Korean dramas. I remember it aired on a channel that my mom used to watch. it looked interesting so I started watching it with her. I absolutely fell in love with the characters, story, plot- you name it I loved it- Once it ended I remember I didn't watch another drama for months because I refused to move on from it. It's been around 5 years since I've first watched it and since then I've watched it around 6 times. although the main girl didn't end up with who I wanted- it's still very enjoyable. Not to mention the ost is still on my Spotify to this day. I still listen to it all the time and enjoy every second of it. Although it's been over 10 years since it aired, I hope more newcomers watch it.
