A drama that does the tomboy trope justice

Other than Coffee Prince, this only other decent androgynous/tomboy representation in kdrama history. This is another one of my all time favourites. I love, love, love this drama. It's fun and 'wild' and knows exactly when and where to put in the heavy stuff in but keep it humorous and generally enjoyable the same time. I'd marry Eun Jae if I could, she's so crazy and wonderful. She takes her job very seriously and isn't constantly pandering to Moo Yul. She doesn't put up with his BS and I love how she stays the same even after falling in love. I hate it when tough female characters lose their edge once in a relationship but she remains true to herself which is just refreshing to see.

This drama also has one of my favourite side relationship storylines. Tae Han and Dong Ah have my heart. Shy, straight laced manager Tae Han and confident, eccentric yet sexually forward Dong Ah. It's a match made in cinema. She brings him out of his shell and he reels her in - it's beautiful. I also love that Dong Ah and Eun Jae are both well created representations of non traditional femininity, which again puts this drama up there for me.

The only thing that annoys me, like others have said, is the general lack of romance, especially in a show called 'Wild Romance'. I normally could care less about romance in a drama so good on it's own, but the directors generate so much sexual tension in all the relationships only for them to be barely realised. It's sad really but a girl can dream...

This drama gets numerous justified complaints: awful directing, infuriating music, two actresses overacting like there’s no tomorrow. But putting all of that aside, the script is dazzling. It took me on a journey of character study and genre-blending frenzy. The drama starts as slapstick comedy with one-dimensional characters, and thus pretty hard to sit through. That’s both unintentional (did I mention awful directing) and intentional (the writer plays with viewers’ perceptions). Over time, it adds layers of complexity to all characters including minor ones, with a mix of romance, comedy and mystery. Towards the end, it evolves full force into a psychological thriller that explores the depth of jealousy and obsession. On Friday, I had to pause in the middle of an episode to laugh hysterically while on Saturday I paused to avoid dying of tension.

This rollercoaster ride works marvelously because nuanced characterization and strong messages are always at the core of the show. At least for me, it is a story about how flawed our perception of others can be, about the blurred line between dream and obsession, about letting go and moving on. No matter what elements are on screen, comedy or mystery, they all add to my understanding of the characters and the themes. It’s a marvel to see a script so tight that almost every detail serves a purpose, or sometimes multiple purposes. Like the same thing can be used for laughter in ep 4, reap its emotional impact in ep 8 and become a key clue for the mystery in ep 12. I don’t know how that is possible, but as with other Park Yeon Seon’s dramas, there’s only one lesson. Pay attention, and you will be rewarded!

I think if I had written a review at various point in this drama, they would have all been completely different. Yes the show is that uneven.

The beginning is pure cracky, trashy fun. It's silly as hell but I laughed out loud anyway. The premise - of rival baseball teams as some kind of warring kingdoms - was milked for a lot of laughs and the female lead kind of sold me on the character despite overacting. Lee Dong Wook is a class act and his charisma drove a lot of what made the first half so appealing.

By midway through, I was kind of stunned at the uptick in quality. Show got more serious, more philosophical and even became quite good there for a while. While I missed the laughs, I wasn't complaining - show was way better than I was expecting.

But here I am writing a review about the whole drama. And unfortunately that includes the final sombre, meandering, turgid, boring final episodes of seriousness and filler and serious filler. There was so much comedy yet to milk around the original premise that could have filled a full hour of fun but instead it kept up the dour tone and filler plotlines until I just couldn't care anymore.

Show got trashy, show got good, then show got dumb. It's a shame but there it is.

Not enough romance!!!!

Let me say this before I start my review, I watched this whole show in less than 2 days it was so engaging in the beginning I loved eun Jae so much and was so invested in what she’s going to do or say next.

As I said the beginning was nice but I must admit I was a bit weary as some scene seemed to be too much to handle as I hate second hand embarrassment humor, however I pushed through and oh man am I glad I did. As soon as the misunderstanding in the first episodes was resolved everything got a lot better.

The subplot was interesting enough to keep you wondering ( even if I figured it out from the first few episodes) who’s doing what and why. Usually these kinds of plots are very draggy and it’s difficult to care for but the writers did a wonderful job keeping the audience engaged.

The ONLY thing I did not like and absolutely hated was that there was not enough romance between the main leads. Although the drama has a ton of cutesy typical kdrama scenes the actual leads being in love with each other is not seen until the last 5 minutes. In my opinion from the episodes 13 and forward something just shifts it feels like the drama shouldn’t only have 3 episodes left especially regarding the main leads romance. From there on I started questioning and disliking park mul yeol not to the extent of stopping the drama but I felt that eun Jae could’ve done better found someone that shows her AND the audience they like her.

SPOLIER!!!!

The scene where he screams at her for not “believing him” pissed me off so much like anyone in her “shoes” (?) would’ve doubted him, hell even I didn’t know what was going on until the last 5 minutes of the show.

A good one for cloudy days.

You know those days when you just feel blegh? You spilled coffee on your favorite shirt, was late for work cause you were stuck in traffic, you just met your crushes girlfriend....yeah. One of those days. But luckily it's Friday so time for some kdrama and chocolate.
I loved these two characters. I laughed, there were some cringe worthy scenes, I did some facepalms. It was a fun watch. Everything about the female character was funny even her family made me laugh. The weird best friend included.
BUT, sadly the title is a little misleading. "Wild" love?, not so much. I would have liked a little more romance between the two leads.
But then again this wasn't THAT kind of drama.I think if it got a little steamy it would have changed the whole feel of the story.
I really am not fond of comedy, but I enjoyed this one a lot.

The title of show is doesnt relate with show

●Story- a baseball player and a baseball fangirl rivalry mixed with crazy obsessive people. I wish if there was some romance since the series is named wild romance but that is completely opposite. There is no romance I with take my rating down just for that reason. Why didn’t the series have enough romance!!!
The family of eunjae and their fanning of Blue seagulls was fresh. There house was also nicely done representing true fans.

●Acting- lee dong wook as parkmuyeol was handsome and kick-ass baseball player. I loved seeing him play baseball. He was an amazing in the crazy bickering with the FL. His fine beard was so sexy that I cant take my eyes off.
Lee shi young As yueunjae was a perfect choice for the bodyguard. Her rough hairstyle fit her more as the bodyguard. I read her biography and she is is professional boxer, no wonder her fight sequences were so perfect.
Oh man suk as jin dong soo was a reliable friend, family and guide. I liked his role, as in saw him Crash landing on you as villain, this was very refreshing for me.
Lee hee joon as gojaehyo was clever reporter. His eye did all the special work for him weather its being good or bad.

●Music was nice as in BGM. Ost I hardly remember any if there was any in the drama.

●Rewatch- maybe not as storyline is good but there isnt any romance

This drama started out slow and not as interesting. But soon I was hooked in and I was just laughing like crazy. But then it started to be crazy. But what I loved about it was that it was such a mystery, minus the creepy things that happened throughout. I also loved the side couples (robot-couple). Overall, it wasnt that bad.

I have attempted this series twice. First time I have quit after episode one... the female lead was just too quirky for me and something did not fit in the plot for me the first time. Second time I have marathon-ed it.
Overall add it was funny, with a great story line, and suspense keeping me long enough to stick around till the end.
I have to say, it was all worth watching. I wish there was more romance and they would take the awkward kissing scenes and redo them. It makes me think, the Korean society freely talks about bathroom duties and painting nails but is so taboo with kissing. The "mummy" kisses I call are just outdated. Don't be crazy with these but at least show us how a kiss should look.
Towards the end the drama was getting a bit too psycho but it was ok. There was many funny parts in it too.
I honestly have to say, you don't have anything to lose with this drama. All is great to watch and I hope in the future more plots as such would be crated.

i found it nice , smooth  with logical romance development story between the two main leads
but i found their romance also lame & lukewarm one & that bothered me alot cause i found the story at the beginning was really promising
AND
as usual the weakest point ever at any KD  is the ( END ) very few dramas that really ended the drama strongly & satisfied me

SPOILER
> > > > > >

i found many things that provoked me much

1st
how can ( Lee Dong Wook ) asked ( Lee Shi Young) to trust him while his actions towards his EX was weird
till the end it appears that he loved his ex comparable to the care he gave to lee shi
he didn't even try to hug her after rescuing her from drowning
it's very normal & spontaneous reaction towards the one u love when he/she  became in danger  u can't control it
he didn't even show her his face at the hospital while she was fainted
he didn't even try to convince her with his true  love  he only said i'll leave u to think
he left  a suspicious woman to THINK !!!  ... WHAT THE HELL !!  >_<
she had all the rights to doubt that he is loving  her

2nd
i despise   lee shi father so  how can he still loves a woman cheated & left him for another man

3rd
i found that  lee dong friend  ( oh man )  at the last ep  his behavior was shocking  he exceeded so much to protect his wife as if killing lee dong was the only solution
this was really insane & nonsense,  the writer was mad & provoked me so

4th
i found the character of  jessica  ( lee dong EX ) was so provoking & selfish  not honest & pure as they said at the drama
what crosses her mind she do  it  right- away
she did whatever she wants  Without consideration to anyone
her demands should be done immediately
her character to me was really annoying

at first, i don't think this is a good drama just by looking at the picture and the summary. But Ive just tried to watch, it is very good story indeed.

Although the story background about baseball, but actually it is more concerned about the stalker who is chasing Park Moo Yul's life.

Most of all, i like the story line which we can't predict and also how the romance goes between Eun Jae and Park Moo Yul. It's different than other romance drama.
