When Ruj was eleven, the red mansion gained two new members: mother and daughter Ampha and Araya, distant relatives of his father. Ruj believed the two had come to steal the love of those around him and he asked to be sent to a boarding school lest he have to see them all the time. Before long, Ruj's father and Ampha married and at fifteen, Ruj was sent to England for his studies. While he was still abroad, his father passed away, and by the time he was set to return to Thailand, the rest of the household was excited for his return. Only, he didn't return to the red mansion right away. He found work as a doctor elsewhere. He didn't return until Ampha had also passed, and it was then that he met Araya again.
