What can I say? I loved this drama! It's, without a doubt, one of the best I've seen so far. It had me hooked from the very beginning, leaving little space for dull moments. Every time a plot twist was resolved, it only meant the beginning of another that would just keep as hooked as the one that just ended.

Some may say it's a mix of Coffee Prince, read more Hana Kimi and Boys Before Flowers. But to me, this falls short to the final product. Even if it uses familiar themes present in these other dramas, Sungkyunkwan Scandal's characters are different and the plot refreshing. It is too simple to describe it as a combination of the aforementioned stories, for its historical setting and character development make it stand on a whole different level. The interaction between students, the plots set about by powerful officials, the displays of affection and the scandals...it wouldn't have been the same in a contemporary setting.

And, as a plus, for all us fangirls out there, the guys in this drama are so cute...it was a joy to watch so much eye candy on screen.

This was really an exceptional drama! It's one of the best I've seen so far. Although the whole girl pretending to be a boy thing is not new, the setting and situation is fresh. This gives it a very different style than all the dramas it has been compared to. The beginning is slightly confusing if you have no knowledge of Korean history, traditions or culture. But as you watch, you will read more understand. I like how there is friendship built and emphasized as the characters encounter little twists and obstacles.

The characters play well off each other as their chemistry is greate and the actors are all well suited for their parts. And honestly, the guys are very cute :P

One notable thing about this drama is it gives you room to imagine in details yourself. For example, they don't necessarily give the full backstory of the characters. Instead they hint at many parts and let you create your own story for them in your mind.

This is truly the greatest drama on earth it would have been wonderful if they had 6 seasons like Game Of Thrones because as a HUGE! GOT Fan Nirvana and Fire Out Wits Out Smarts and all around Out Class Game Of Thrones in every way. Nirvana in Fire is up to par or I may even say far more superior than many high rated American Shows. I was stunned by the Brilliance of NiF in every way plots, screen writing, soundtrack, acting, cinematography etc the directors are extremely talented I would watch anything created by this Magnificent team.

Both historical drama with good blend of lightness and serious/sombre scenes. Has a main girl and many visually pretty/handsome guys. Overall it gives the same vibe but different plot.

    COMPLETED

I actually ended up really enjoying this one. PMY was as adorable and great as I expected. She has probably the most beautiful smile in the world. And I can see why Song Joong Ki became a big deal shortly after this.

It was really nice to get through a saeguk that wasn't full of pointless killing and the bad guys constantly succeeding.

So, I was coming into this looking for a wacky romcom set in the Joseon era. After 2 episodes, what I have instead is the same stupid garbage with the same stupid character archetypes I've gotten in every other saeguk I've seen.

Does it get funny at some point?

Who impressed me most and will be remembered in this drama? It has to be Moon Jae Shin (YAI) and Gu Yong Ha( SJK) . Disappointed with the main leads

Does this drama have a good ending? Almost all the historical dramas I've watched, I didn't like the ending...

not my cup of tea....i'm having a hard time to finish this, i don't know why...maybe it's to serious it get boring. but song joong ki and yoo ah in is very good in this drama, not because they're handsome, but because the acting is believable.
