It was cute, until it got cliche...
The first 20ish episodes were pure cute. Male and female lead had SO MUCH chemistry, and the second leads were adorable in their own way as welland then the typical Asian drama cliches^TM hit and I almost wanted to just walk away from the drama...
But then the drama does end on a better note, so I still gave it a redeeming 7.5. It's like when the cliche's hit, just turn on fast forward, and the chemistry between the leads is super worth it I guess.
The little epilogue at the end was very satisfying to watch too.
Would recommend if you got the time and want some sugar in your life (and don't mind a little bit of Asian Drama Cliche.

I think this drama its okay ,its not a bad drama and I think everyone should give it a gostory-the story is not bad, it doesn't really have an important thing, because it was abit weird how it started as the FL being the daughterof the family and then the meeting the ML.
acting-Honeslty forme the actress of the FL was really good, her acting was amazing for me she was the most and standed out more.
For me th main couple has a great chemsitry, the 2ML OMGGG I felt so bad for him.
the plot-the second couple didnt really stand out for me, it wasn't really interesting for me.
*I think for me at the beggining up to ep 20, it was really cute (lots of scenes of the leads ) it was really cute to see but after that ep things get so messy.
-I just don't have like how the writer wants ot dragg lots of things, for me it was good up to ep 20 but after things get quite messy, but tbh I just kept watching because of the really good chemsitry of the leads
-For me the last 10 ep were too draggy,boring and just really messy.
-Tbh I like esther but her characters OMGGGG I really hated her but t the end she turned good.
-The ML had to marry esther to help her form marrying a king (as a concubine) and the FL like agreed to let him even though she didn't like the idea andI'm lke girl don't let him marry someone else,but what I liked is that thhe ML always said the things clearly to esther (that he only loves the FL)
-OMGGG the grandma, I like her because it all started (the romance between the leads) because of her but after the ep like on ep 26 OMGGG she was rude to the FL and at the end she was like (to the FL) oh I'm sorry for all the thing I did wrong to you, AND I'm like btich go away
-I think the draggy was abit slow SPOILER=,atleast it had a happy ending
-The 2nd male OMGG I felt bad for him, but form the beginnign it was quite obvious that she only liked the ML even though at the really beggining she liked the 2nd .
overall-I want to make this review really short ,so I will say that for me this drama is worth for the chemistry of the main couple (they are so cute and as how the ML at the beggining doesn't really feel anythign for th eFL , but as the drama goes he slowly falls for the FL),If u don't have anyhtign else to watch just watch this.

Cute, innocent love story
Story was good . It was just a pure ,cute and innocent love story .Chemistry between the leads was awesome ,they looked so cute together . The best part of the drama are it didn't tangled the viewers in love triangle much ,Positive character of step brother ,not much conspiracy ,not much hatred. Few cute jealousy moment . It is a balanced drama.
This is for those who likes love story .
Both leads were so cute . Who played the role of his step brother also did a good job. The one who played the role of doctor he was also very good . Basically all the supporting character did a good job .

Decent romcom ruined by clichés
I would've originally rated this a 6.5 and left it at that, but the scriptwriter made me quite angry with the last ten episodes of the drama so I will share why because I need to vent my grievances.If you want to watch a drama about a young romantic couple that's lighthearted and heartwarming, then you should watch the first twenty episodes of this show. Anything beyond that has sadly fallen into the trap of lazy, cliché Cdrama writing that was insulting to watch and then even more so insulting to realize that it will drag on for another ten to twelve episodes for no reason other than stretching out the number of episodes for the views.
The very characters that seemed to have some salt in their heads would go on to make the dumbest suggestions that allowed the plot development to regress into what every Cdrama viewer hates - a misunderstanding blown out of proportions and characters acting completely differently from how they were originally presented in order to fit the dumbed-down narrative. If I wanted to watch women battling it out in a royal harem, I would go and watch shows that have done that in a much smarter manner. They could have added practically any other plot device to extend the show and it would have made the story more believable and less unbearable to watch. Also, excusing some criminal behavior that puts people at risk of their lives just for the sake of making everyone friends? Why? I have seen it time and time again in Cdramas but I certainly don't like the message they're pushing to the viewers and that kind of a character getting a good ending after seeing their screentime mostly consisting of pushing people off metaphorical cliffs. And it's not even one character but a few of them, utterly ridiculous.
Of course, this show also falls apart when it comes to the second male lead, who comes out as a genuinely pitiful, kindhearted person that deserved much, much better than what he was given. At one point in the plot, it seemed he would be given a good story of his own, only for the plot to kick back in and make him miserable again.
Everything good about any of these characters is ignored by the third part of the drama for no reason whatsoever; the plotlines and relationships that were developing thus far have been abandoned for the sake of dragging unnecessary conflict between the main couple, which to my horror, didn't finish until the very last episode. Otherwise, if the show did end at twenty episodes this would have been a very enjoyable watching experience.
All in all, it was a watchable drama until the last third, which I consider to have been a fever dream anyway.

This is a cute lighthearted drama that was downgraded by the introduction of needless clichés (unwanted childhood sweetheart comes for arrange marriage, 2 times amnesia forgetting the love of his life, the forced separation: lead character leaves for 3 years before reconciling at last episode, …). The story is really nice and the leading couple had a cute playful chemistry with a few nice romantic moments but everything falls apart when the leading characters started acting differently to their original representation from the moment the leading lady convinces the leading male to marry someone he didn’t want to marry. Although the drama ends with a happily ever after, the resolution took too long and it was more comedic than romantic. Was this review helpful to you?

Had the potential to do better... but failed!!!
This summary might be more of a rant lol. This drama has so much potential ! after watching the preview on youtube I couldnt wait! This drama was a major let down for me, more than Love Script....Female lead is in need of money to heal pay for her brother's medical bills , so she tries to become a maid in the Gu household. Female lead is cute and quirky, male lead is the Gu's son. He has a stone cold face and is good in making and designing jewelry. The leads start off on a wrong foot, like in many dramas.
In the Gu family , the father and mother has passed away, leaving behind the mistress ( which she never got a title to be the madam of the house). There is also mistress's son , Gu's 2nd son ( but he is not blood related) , and a third daughter which is the eldest son's blood related sister, but she got lost a long time ago and the grandma. Thus the grandma becomes upset and gets sick from missing the grand daughter. The grandma thinks that the female lead is her lost granddaughter... So our female lead is stuck in accepting the role. The female lead stays in the Gu household to find her long lost play mate from when she was young. She recognized him through a jade he has, and that person is Gu's second son, which she didnt know. So she develops a friendship with both the brothers. She slowly starts to fall in love with the male lead (the older brother) , he does too but doesnt show his love.
At this time the mistress aka 2nd son gu's mom comes back. She is obviously a evil character and is strict and mean. She is shocked that the third daughter is back because she was the one that sent someone to go after the third daughter. She questions the identity of the female lead.She tries to get rid of the female lead. The leads try to figure out what happened to male lead's mom and what the cause of her death was. Eventually they get the mistress to confess her evil deeds.
At around the same time the mistress is introduced, we get introduced to the second female lead. She grew up with the gu's oldest son and has a contracted marriage. She really likes him and doesnt want to give him up.Even though she knows that the leads are in love with each other. Some stuff happens and the male lead is forced to marry the second female lead. Second female lead does things to break them apart.....
RANT!!
1) Didnt feel the lead's connection, chemistry or passion
2) They had too little scenes together! not enough time to make their relationship feel real... The whole drama has a lot going on
3)unnecessary side character , which made the plot more annoying and nuisance . the mistress and the second female lead , even that doctor ( he had no use whatso ever)
4) this drama was slightly on the comedic side, but i didnt find it worked, in general I am not a fan of comedy/ ancient mixed together
5) overall storyline had to much going on and then it skips and jumped around. it doesnt offer any explanation of what happened , it just jumped to the next scene....
6) love triangle didn't help to develop the story.
7) too much focus on family issues
Honestly I must rather just watch the preview for this drama! it was done so nicely and made this drama seem like it was going to be a good one, but this one just flopped. The end part of it jumped like three years and I'm like what is going on.... The first half of this drama it was already like a 7 for me, just kinda bland and nothing really partially stand out..... it dropped a little more after what happen in he latter half... sighs..
I dont recommend, unless you have nothing to watch....

Cute love story
OK second time around and I get to the ending!Right of the back it wasn't a bad drama but like everyone else what happened to the story? OK the 20 episodes and you have a good drama. You got your roller coster with everything happening you got your love triangles (because there was more than one) you got step mum stirring the pot it was all coming together.
Then the last 10 or so episodes you rushed it! We want to see all the build up to all the characters and what did we get? A flop and it's a shame because you had a good story overall.
The actors was really good and did a great job, I will look forward into what I will see them in next..

Short and ♡bubbly♡ cliché drama!
"A Love so Romantic" was to me a light romance novel that you can easily watch in two or three days. The plot is very cute, bubbly and comical which is perfect if you're new in watching historical dramas and don't want to watch something more serious.The acting was good and there's good chemistry between the female and male leads. The first twety-three episodes were a little bit dragged but it wasn't boring to me because I got to see the side stories of other characters. I felt that the last episode was a little rushed but it ended in a good cliché.

Great Story Disappointing Ending
I fell in love with this drama from the beginning. It's a cute drama and fun to watch. I love the lead s characters from the 2 brothers to the the surprising young lady that comes into their life. It has it share of bad characters and of course the obsess girl. The characters I fell in love was Dr, Ru, who is funny and witty and very cute. After such a great drama the end left me disappointed. I was happy to see Dr. Ru was able to get married. I love that Qui Xiang got married. But they forgot Ziqian and Warner. What happen to them. I hate when the script writer leaves everything to the last 15 minutes of the last episode and forgets major characters. We all have follow Ziqian why wont you show us what happens to him. The actors did a great job in their performance and I have love the chemistry between the actors, but the scrip writer mistakes was this ending. The extra episode of the daughter was cute but as old as the daughter is being showed you would think the parents would be a little more mature. A Love story
I love the cast and the storyline is full of so many emotions. It Start the 2nd madam is jeousley of the 1st with the attn the Mr. Gu gives her. So she plans to make the 1st madam go crazy and mr. Gu gives her attn now., but the medicine is wearing off and gu yanxi and gu wanier go to see the mom and she warns him to be careful. Later a fire breaks out and the kids both run over and there mom is dead and gu wanier disappears and gu yanxi loses his memory. There father dies shortly later of a broken heart, and that leave the 2nd madam and her son to lose. Years go by and they are still looking wanier. Then the story goes on to how he meets Su Xiao wan and she pretend to be wanier for grandma sake. During her time there yanxi and her fall in love in secret. Due to family obligations he is forced to marry Cheng quin ye.. He refuse to do as he was in love with Xiao wan, but quinye is drugged by the crown prince and the dr(who is in love with her) & yanxi rescue her. The CP send a marriage proposal and to get out yanxi marriage her and then will divorce her she agrees. Once married she and her mammy do everything to get rid of Xiao wan.,.they even kidnapped her and yanxi go rescue her but get hit in head and has Amenia. So they get her kicked out of house and she leave with gu Ziqian(half brother who's in love with her). They are gone now for 3yrs and he. Playing sports and she makes and sell jewelry on the streets. Ziqian finally asks her to give him a chance and she agreed reluxinly. Then one day yanxi shows up and wants her back. They fight back and forth trying to reason with each other. Sugar/Honey Coated Romance drama with SLS.
This is one of the sweetest cdrama which I have watched so far. The chemistry between ML & FL is super sweet.Story - As I have mentioned earlier this is one of the most funniest & sweetest romcom I have watched so far.
Nutshell on this drama is ML gets FL to impersonate as his long lost cousin in order to make his grandmother happy. And in the midst of this both falls for each other not just that the ML younger brother that is the 2nd ML @ Gu Zi Qian too falls for the FL. Any drama won't be called drama with complicated triangle love. Am I right? Over here, I feel very sad & sorry for the 2nd ML as he has put in so much effort & even taking care of the FL but I know most audiences would love to watch both ML & FL ending up together. In the process of this ML & FL falling for each other another 3rd party appears that is ML childhood sweetheart appears @ Cheng Qian Yu. Besides that the ML is trying to investigate on his late mom death which he suspected was being caused by someone in the family. And to add more spices to this story ML was forced to marry Cheng Qian Yu in order to safe her from becoming a concubine. Not just that ML was being injured on his head & lost all his memory with FL. From there you may see the 2nd ML starts to step forward towards FL & even express his feelings towards her. After going round & round both ML & FL gets together. Pity the 2nd ML......sigh! As for Cheng Qian Yu - ML divorced her & left Gu mansion & ended with physician, Ru Ying.
Acting - The ML @ Gu Yan Xi is a bit stiff & wooden at times luckily it was being compensated with the FL @ Su Xiao Wan acting skill. The 2nd ML looks so pretty and he can easily impersonate as a lady (there is one episode where he impersonate as a maid). Over here the FL is not being too loud or dumb but she is rather street-smart as she managed to resolve matter fast compared to the ML who is more serious, down to earth & intellectual. I am rather surprise that Cheng Qian Yu role acted by Esther Yu was also very serious & sophisticated compared to her drama "I Have Fallen For You" role. The physician Ru Ying role was also another very funny ones.
OST - Not that impressive to me compared to other romcom cdramas OST. The best I have listened was still Dr. Cutie - OST.
Overall if you are a person who love sweet, cute & comedy romance then this is the drama for you but if you are into something serious with heavy plots then this might not be your cup of coffee or tea. This drama has a simple, direct & predictable storyline with lots of sugars or honey coated romance. Finally this drama has a total of 32 episodes but each episode last for 30 mins so you may binge watch it during weekends which is much easier to digest. Lol.

The Second ML Deserved Better!!!
Started as a lighthearted and fun drama. I initially watched this show because I recently discovered the actress Yang Zhi Wen, I'm honestly very glad that this drama of hers did not disappoint. It is important to note that towards the latter part of the series, it has become laden with angsty, dramatic, and cliche parts. I somehow appreciate how the resolutions didn't drag on anymore, the drama was more than enough already. Also, I think the most heartwrenching part was the ending for the second male lead. His chemistry with the female lead was amazing that I couldn't help but ship them more than the actual main leads. Even if he was the competitor in terms of the heart of the female lead, he didn't do anything dirty that'll ruin their relationship. He stayed at the side of the FL through it all and he played fair and remained loyal to the man he treated as a brother up to the end. Zhao Tian Yu portrayed his role really well, as a viewer, I just want the best for his character. So basically, I think that even though he didn't capture the heart of the FL, he has captured the hearts of the viewers instead.Was this review helpful to you?
