The story revolves around a fictional boy band named A.N.JELL. The management company of the idol group A.N.JELL insisted on adding a new singer to the group as the lead vocal, Tai Jing's voice was hurting. However, the new member, Mei Nan, had to go to the States to repair a botched eye job just before signing the contract. His agent came up with the idea of having his twin sister, Gao Mei read moreNu a nun-in-training who has to pose as her twin brother and take his place in the group and to stand in for him. The two of them grew up in an orphanage and Mei Nu, who was all set to become a nun, agreed to this charade as she didn't want to spoil her brother's chance of fame which would make it easier to look for their mother.

This drama! I've already watched it's Korean & Japanese versions. Till now I like the Korean version "You're Beautiful" best. But in that drama I truly felt that Shin Woo ( Jiang Xin Yu ) wasn't given proper chances or time, whatever. But this drama ended my conflict with writer by giving equal chances to both of them. I really liked it.
The CAST is good too. I definitely like Xin Yu read more & Mie Nu. She is too cute and innocent. Even it's her first drama, her acting is great. All actors played their part well till now.
The MUSIC of this drama is also good. It's like all the other versions mean definitely good lyric & melody.

P.S: It's a must watch, if you've watched all two versions already.

I've watched You're Beautiful and loved it. It prompted me to watch the Japanese version Ikemen Desu Ne which I also loved. Out of love for the storyline, I decided to watch the Taiwanese version instead of re-watching the Korean one which was my favourite at that point.

Fabulous Boys is now my favourite version of the three. It is beautiful and though others say they would give it a lesser score read more for being a remake, I have to say this version blows the others out of the water for me.
Of the three, this one has the most character depth, the most emotion-filled scenes and while it has its comic moments, the characters are never over the top and are never annoying. This is the first version that hasn't made me hate the characters passionately nor does it make me want to rip my hair out for their stupid acts. As I said before, the characters have real depth and emotions that are simply beautiful across the screen. Certain characters especially Shin Woo/Shu/Xin Yu have really been improved upon in this drama.

Story: 9/10
While it's another version of You're Beautiful, the story is still great. For me, I don't find it as similar to the other two as some others have found it. If anything, I thought they took elements from both the Korean and Japanese versions and incorporated them into the story while adding new pieces. Overall, I thought they did a fantastic job. It wasn't a carbon copy of the others but rather, a new point of view on the original story. It definitely was still entertaining to watch regardless of how many times you've seen You're Beautiful/Ikemen Desu Ne.

Acting/Cast: 9.5/10
They were amazing! As mentioned before, I preferred You're Beautiful over Ikemen Desu Ne and this was mainly due to the casting. Jang Geun Suk, Jung Yong Hwa, Lee Hong Ki and Park Shin Hye are the original A.N.Jell and they rocked it! I loved them as the original cast. However, there were little points in their acting that I had problems with when I was watching You're Beautiful.
In Fabulous Boys, however, these nuances were gone. The Go Mi Nam/Gao Mei Nan character was made less annoying and a lot more insightful than she was before in my opinion.
Also, Jiro Wang as Hwang Tae Kyung/Huang Tai Jing was awesome! I thought Jang Geun Suk did an amazing job but Jiro took the character for an emotional rollercoaster with his performance. And truly, he did such a great job that he's ended up in my favourite actors with one single role.
Hwang In Deok did a superb job with the Shin Woo/Xin Yu character. If anything, he really improved upon the character for me and it's really one of those things that made this drama the best for me. Also, he's extremely handsome which made this drama especially lovely to watch (combined with others like Jiro Wang and Evan Yo)!
Evan Yo was commendable in his role as Jeremy. He was cute, he was heartwarming and he was perfect. Not to mention, very talented.
The rest of the cast did a great job as well. Characters like Youie/Liu Hui Ni, the manager Manager Ma/Mark and the stylist Kko Di/Ke Di improved for me and made me actually like them for once.

Music: 7/10
The drama reuses the tunes from You're Beautiful but adds its new ones as well. You're Beautiful was one of those dramas that started my love for OSTs and this drama does not disappoint in its music. The new additions are really beautiful as well.

Rewatch value: 6/10
I'd re-watch my favourite scenes but probably not the entire drama. There were great moments in this drama!

Overall - 8.5/10

Certainly recommended for anyone
-who loves the original story
-is looking for a great gender-bender
-loves dramas where there are gorgeous boys (and likes watching boys fall for one girl)
-loves dramas with bands and great music

They are the same with the same storyline, but in a different language. The other one is Taiwanese, this is Korean. And there are different casts

Both dramas star Jiro Wang as an arrogant popular singer that has never experienced love, only to soften as he falls for the female lead. In both dramas the female lead is shy and rather unworldly, and the hero is protective of her, although at the beginning he doesn't understand why he cares so much. Both dramas also show the two leads living in the same house, so both shows feature a lot of sweet cohabitation scenes.

However, Fabulous Boys has more characters, so it develops the side stories perhaps a bit more than ToGetHer. I also felt that the hero in ToGetHer went through more of a change than the one in Fabulous Boys, because apart from falling in love he also loses his popularity, whereas the character in Fabulous Boys never quite reached that level of vulnerability (he was more arrogant and stayed it longer).

Both are romantic, funny and light, with a little bit of drama towards the end (but not too much). Also the actor that plays the manager Jie Ge / Tony Ge is the same in both dramas :p

I could have gone without watching this drama. So cliche and unclimatic, I mean I already knew the story but the whole gender bender is kinda "been there done that" for me. But Jiro Wang was hotness and made it worth watching.

Some sites have 20 episodes for this series, and others only have 13. Can someone please explain the difference? I've tried Googling for info about this, but can't find anything. TIA! :)

Yeah, I noticed that as well. When I posted my comment, it was showing here as 13 episodes, and now it shows 20. But I don't think it's just a "mistake" in the number total... there seems to be 2 different versions of the series. I just haven't been able to find any info about what that difference is. I think I'll try asking in the forums. Hopefully I'll have a better chance of getting an answer there. If I do, I'll let you know. :) And also make a note of it in the synopsis.

heard the korean version is good but if the taiwan version is same and just as good, i would go for the taiwan version, just can't stand the very obvious make up of the boys on the korean version

I skipped almost everything... It's exactly (exactly!!) the same thing as YAB. And as much as I like Jiro, Jang Geun Suk was perfect for this role and Jiro can't match. The same goes for Yo Evan. Even if he was indeed quite cute, Lee Hong Ki was the perfect Jeremy. All in all this was a waste of my time...

I generally don't watch Taiwanese drama, but I literally just finished Ikemen Desu Ne and started it. Only a few minutes in, but Park Shin Hye's comments referring to YB! Made me laugh~ Looking forward to this drama, based off of all these reviews.

Having watched the original back in 2009, I skipped through many scenes because it was exactly the same(except for the ending).
The actors did a great job. Can't get enough of Jeremy in every version =p

Both Korean and Taiwanese are almost the same. Didn't know Jiro Wang w so good looking. This is the first time I watch his drama. Overall the drama was not too draggy compared to the other Taiwanese drama I have watched. Really loved his body and great acting!

Although I hated "You're Beautiful", Jiro Wang as the male lead of this Taiwanese version changed my reception of this predictable story. I especially loved every moment of his jealousy. I rated "Fabulous Boys" with a 7.
