The only alternative of MGIAA is MGIAA itself

MGIAA (My girlfriend is an alien) is one of the most popular Chinese modern dramas amongst the international fans . I really didn't have that much hopes for it cause most of the time second season can't beat season one.But this one did.Yes the storyline of season two is better than season one.Actors Bie ,Wan Peng,Wang You Jun all did an excellent job again.Especially Bie.The part he portrayed to show the sweeter part of Fang Leng alongside the cold part of that character just melted me.He has become more cuter .Second lead couple is not annoying at all . They are so adorable. Since this types of push and pull romance are one of my favorite genre so after watching first season about 3 years ago I have tried a lot of sweet rom com,but not a single rom com couldn't replace it . Finally season two replaced or suppressed it. Sweeter enough. The cinematography and visual effects were so much better than previous season.Feel the same chemistry between leads . This is a must for sweet rom com lover.A lot of scenes make me feel that the romance in this drama is nothing but magical .Not a single boring moment.Very heart warming, fluffy, funny. Just loved it.

The main difference between first and second season ~ First season basically focused over Fang Leng's amensia and sweet romance. While second season basically focused over love, relationship, romance. This season give a lot of informations of relationships. This drama is a full package tips to get into a relationship .It is a must for current and future lovebirds to get some tips .And the good thing is second season didn't focus over Fang Leng's amensia part that much.It is a plus point for me. The only thing that bothered me in the whole drama is the new third wheel character "Jiang Shiyi". But his parts are not that much before the last 10 episodes so his irritating part is quite negligible.

Warning ~~~ The amount of sweetness is too much to handle for singles.

My one and only request that never judge this drama without completed it,you are gonna miss a lot of twists.

Ignore my grammertical mistakes please.

More of the Adorable stuff that made us love Season 1!

Like Season 1, the viewers also had a lot to enjoy in season 2!

I was expecting a lot of fluff, and that is exactly what this show delivered. This is a show with lots of heart, cute romance, and on-point comedy, one that is guaranteed to be a mood booster. It's cheesy, it's fun, it's tropey, and I enjoyed it!

Despite the expected light-heartedness, the show balanced scenes of poignancy and melodrama with humor well, and everything was tied up nicely in the end. It is definitely a bingeable show now that it is fully subbed.

Where the show excelled was the great chemistry among the cast and watching how everyone made the story come alive was time well spent! Continuing the love story of our main Lengqi CP - Bie as Fang Leng and Wang Peng as Xiao Qi, season 2 added two more couples for our entertainment. The relationships may have developed differently for the other couples, but their path to being together was also a fun watch. One couple was so dorkable and the other one was a more mature kind but sweet nonetheless. The supporting cast like Shi Yi, the SML, and Fang Lie's mother also deserved credit for adding flavor to the story. Assistant Han was one of my favorite characters with his outrageous outfits and played a big role in helping our leads learn more about love and progress in their relationship.

Everyone was great in their roles, and I can really feel the warmth they had on-screen. Yes, I did cringe a lot but in a good way.

There was so much that I liked about this show, and to be shamelessly honest, much of that has to do with Bie. That man is just so hot and attractive and he played so many sides of Fang Leng so well. I practically had to un-swoon myself off the floor every single episode after watching him. It is really too bad that he does not act in more dramas and that most of his Thai ones are not subbed.

Wang Peng has an interesting visual - attractive but not your typical classic good looks. Her look seemed fitting for a character who was not from this planet and she portrayed Wiao Qi perfectly, a bumbling, clumsy but endearing female lead who was also kind of adorably clueless. My only minor complaint is that she could improve in the kissing department =D

Music-wise, the tracks were great. The opening song, which was used in Season 1 was as catchy as before but my favorite was Don't Forget by Jin Wenqi, the romantic song that heightened the emotional scenes for me. Bie also showed more of his talent by adding a song to the track. For posterity, I have listed those songs below.

I do recommend that you try this drama out and see for yourself. Whether you need to cure bad-day blues or just a distraction, this drama might do the trick.

Sweet reflection of season one

Almost every time cdrama's season 2 just fall down. But this one is exceptional. It has changed my perspective towards the continuation parts of sweet romance cdrama's . Exactly worth to wait.I can still feel the exact same strong chemistry between ML and FL ,the sweetness ,the fluffiness which we have missed for the last 3 years . This is super fluffy like the previous season. And the about actors, one word.Mindblowing.Especially Bie showed us a cuter version of Fang Leng in this season.I swear no matter how much characters Bie and Wan Peng will portray in the future these Fang Leng and Chai Xiaoq's character will always be remembered as their shadow in the their whole acting career. Both are borned to play Fang Leng and Chai Xiaoqi. As about Fang lie and Xiaobu another funny sweet secondary couple which we can't miss . These types of second seasons cdrama fans are actually looking for . While watching ongoing,I have feeling like it will be a much more better version season one.
Both seasons are highly recommend for those people who want to see some sweet dramas having no boring moments.Fluffier than cotton candy. The plot is rich enough to caught your attention. The hilarious moments ,the craziness of the couple are exactly I have been looking for .

Surpassed Season 1

Just outstanding performance.

Love how it focused more on the relationship. The sweetness and chemistry of both leads. I didn't have high hopes considering that most sequels are not as good as the original but MGIAA 2 did it better. Hsu Bie and Wan Peng are just too adorable on screen. I can feel their love throughout and the sweetness. Made me want to eat fried chicken too.

The second and third couples are also great. They weren't annoying at all. The stepmother is also great. Love the part where XIaobu captured her heart and said that her son is not good enough for her.

I hope the Season 3 wish on the ending will happen.

should have just stopped at season 1

it's just so boring i literally pushed myself to complete this
In my opinion the season 1 was lot better
in season 1 everything was just so cute
but they repeated everything just the same
and honestly now it all feels cringey now
I still have good memories of season 1
if anyone wants to watch this because they liked S1 just like me
I just want to suggest don't
the whole storyline felt unnecessary and there were romantic moments but I felt lack of chemistry between the leads
the only thing i liked about this was the songs
I really wanted to like this
just like everyone else I was so eagerly waiting for this one
I am just so disappointed now

Throw your brain out of the window and just enjoy.

People are already familiar with this show if they are watching its season 2 while those who are completely unfamiliar with this show (though possibility is pretty low as S1 became really famous) and are contemplating whether they should watch this or not or whether they need to watch season 1 first to understand season 2...then just go watch it. You won't regret, whatever season you feel like watching it won't be much of a problem to guess the story so far...because you can easily understand the storyline within few minutes of the show. Though it was pretty much similar to the first one there are few new characters to pose challenge in the lives of our leads.(cannot spoil it for you) . To conclude the story- 'Alien on earth and her funny and stupid interactions with earthlings'.
S1 was silly yet good however I loved S2 more. I dunno why...maybe both actors are now more familiar with each other and their chemistry which was good in S1 became REALLY good in this one. ( I loved ML's hairstyle more in this one?). Plus comic parts looked more enjoyable and less cliched this time. I must say shows like this can really fall flat because ... tbh storyline is something which anyone can guess. There are no such complex turns of events that would make you perplexed or anything its simply cute story of an alien and handsome boss. While in first one FL was not familiar with Earth this time she is the real boss and knows how to deal with others in her own way?. She is such a pure delight to watch. I really liked her acting. ML is your typical boss you will find in every modern drama...(he is hot) who would fall for her eventually... So here comes some problem with FL and she ended up in the wrong time and had to start all over again with her mission without much memory of her earlier visit. All of the characters are same as the first one but as she landed in different timezone nobody remembers her anymore.
Was I the only one who missed boss's assistant of S1? Though I am not complaining, the actor is different yet I enjoyed his parts a lot. He was a real shipper that every person needs in his/her life?. Her mission was to get hormone element and she gets attracted to ML's hormones is just like first Season...hahaha the second hand embarrassment I got every time she tried to grab him...?? * Ahem* ...moving on, this time our little Xiobu (alien tortoise) is in human body too and she is really adorable. Her storyline is really cute. While I usually find myself skipping second lead's storyline in most of the modern Cdramas because they are usually not very engaging yet I find them quite enjoyable. You will also adore their cute romance here.
Shoutout to the designer and stylist. I loved all of their dresses in this one❤️.
Show is still ongoing and so far I loved watching it. This is a perfect light rom-com type of show that you can watch after a heavy dose of suspenseful, sad or political dramas( which I was watching recently).
As I said don't think too much while watching this, just relax and watch the show you will definitely be smiling from ear to ear throughout the episodes. Its silly yet enjoyable. Just watch it?.

Disappointed :(

If you’ve watched Season 1, then S2 is really nothing new. The writers just made them separate and lose their memory in Ep1, so they would fall in love all over again. With the added best friend/ brother and side characters, the basic storyline is pretty much the same. I expected more depth and continuation of their love and adventures, (we had a glimpse of that in the final episode) but it was pretty much just a repeat… a better repeat at least.

I didn’t really like Wan Peng’s acting. It’s probably her script and character, but no real development or I didn’t find her very engaging. Visuals of Fang Leng was of course dreamy ;) and it was basically what kept me going lol. I skipped and Ff quite a bit, which meant I found it quite boring. Happy ending yes- but don’t expect too much from it.

Sweet chummy sexy....

Very charming story about aliens...

At first in season 1, I was hesitant since it's a love story about aliens,,, and for me practically and scientifically its not possible...
Welcome to dramaland.
Story wise, they make it work in season 1.... then how will they make it for season 2?

Congratulations for the writer of the story, the twist was unpredictable for me....
Again they make it work....

And sexy Bei!!! i keep reminding myself he is already married and the chemistry was only for the drama...
I would not like a husband who is an actor.... hahaha

I also like the epilogue part... beatiful kids nicely chosen

Best conclusion for the drama

It is perfect conclusion of their story and covered all the plotlines created which were not completed in the first season as first season songs and story was good in this season VFX were also improved From the last one overall plus their cuteness loved it ❤️❤️?? I was in love drama from starting I still love the first season but this season is my fav as this season gave more story and character development which was not there in first as it took more time for origin and solving the mystery of both fang leng and xiaoqshi

Light, Romantic, Super Entertaining

This whole series cannot be taken too seriously, but it is immensely, immensely watchable. In a world of stressful dramas, intense life situations, sometimes we just want to watch two people fall in love and make us laugh and make us happy. That is exactly what this did. This drama has likeable characters, an engaging storyline, just enough eye-candy to make you stay interested, and is one of the few clean and wholesome dramas out there. It brings joy and is everything a person looking for a fun escape to joy-romance land can go-to. I have already rewatched both seasons and favorite scenes multiple times. Great job!

Earthling Versus Alien, Who Wins?

I have always dreaded a sequel. That is because, despite how good the original story is, a sequel usually ruins it with a lack of new ideas and originality; it becomes repetitive and boring. For this drama, at first I thought Season 2 is one such disaster. To my surprise, not so. At the end of Season 1, Chai Xiaoqi (Wan Peng) left earth. Two years later, she returns. It was a happily-ever-after ending. The sequel starts off with her wedding with Fang Leng in 2021 upon her return. In the midst of their wedding, Chai Xiaoqi is being recalled and returned by force to her planet again.

After wiping off her memories with Fang Leng (Xu Zhi Xian aka Thassapak Hsu), and reinjecting misinformation about him, Chai Xiaoqi is again sent back to earth with a mission: to steal the human's hormone from Fang Leng’s company. While traveling in her spaceship, there’s a mishap and she travels back in time to the year 2018 instead, a year before she actually met Fang Leng in the prequel (Season 1).

I was getting rather revolted for the first five episodes as Chai Xiaoqi is once again attracted to Fang Leng’s hormone; she is lustful and hovers all over his body, touching everywhere (he seems to enjoy it though). I was considering dropping the series. However, I was curious to see how the writer reconciles Season 2 with Season 1 giving that there are now two timelines. So I plodded on.

As the two meet again, everything starts with a clean slate except for Chai Xiaoqi, she has been told that Fang Leng is her husband, but for Fang Leng, he has never known her and finds her queer and annoying. The story gets better after episode 11 when she stops acting lustful. From there on, in fact it’s quite a decent watch with Fang Leng falling head over heels in love with Chai Xiaoqi, and she him.

My Verdict

This drama has so much sugar that I'm worried I may get diabetes by just watching it. There’s a lot of explicit intimacy gestures, touching, embracing and kissing. Viewers don’t need to watch Season 1 to follow Season 2 because they are standalone dramas. The writer has never attempted to reconcile the timeline with Season 1.

In Season 1, which comes later than Season 2 in terms of timeline, Fang Lie (Wang Youjun)’s mother and uncle, who were basically some cartoonish characters (even more so in Season 2), were Fang Leng’s nemeses. Here, Fang Lie’s mother becomes supportive of Fang Leng towards the last few episodes. Fang Lie himself was in love with Chai Xiaoqi in Season 1, whereas in Season 2, Fang Lie has his own love interest. Therefore, take Season 1 and Season 2 as two separate dramas that have some similarities, but that’s it. Season 2 is not really a continuation, but rather the same story told in a different way.

There is some very fine acting here by the two main leads, Xu Zhi Xian and Wan Peng. I love how Wan Peng acts when she becomes concerned and motherly, towards almost everyone in particular towards Fang Leng. I especially love Xu Zhi Xian’s portrayal as the cold CEO but without being robotic. His facial expressions and body language are very convincing, and his crying scenes can make viewers cry with him. I did.

There is also a romance between a human and a robot. I even sympathize with the alien antagonist who is perhaps the most unfortunate alien. In today’s world that is so lack of true love, affection and intimacy, this drama makes up the deficiency. If you crave for intense love, lots of kisses and hugs, this is it.

Great watch for romance buffs! Don’t miss it!
