Decent script but still lacked in many ways…

The drama goes through 3 stages —
✦ the silly, funny and fluffy stage
✦ the main magical politics & the love triangles and squares…
✦ the finale full of politics and melodrama…

In the beginning, all I saw was a silly innocent girl approaching an idle Lord and he doesn't seem like avoiding her either… there's still much politics going on but what catches the right attention was the fluff. The female lead turning into a rabbit and male lead becoming a white little fox were the cutest parts… first half was Great, at least better than the later half…

And then comes the Mystery stage, when politics and magic finally comes into light. That's when you realize you're in a "Xuanhuan" drama after all. The drama features two areas, one is where the main city palace exists and which is the centre for all the politics, known as Qiyuan Continent and the other is No Magic Valley where people with no magical powers i.e. simple human beings live… Now that I think more, the concept of "No Magic Valley" & "Magic girl" was actually pretty interesting… I should have taken the politics more seriously from the start lol…

Lu Qingqing ( Cheng Xiao ) — she's just Naive Af, like the queen of naive characters. But how do you expect a girl who has never gone out of the house to be clever or learn rules of society, etiquettes etc… So, her stupidity or silliness do not annoys us. Infact, it's very cute to see that she is so simple-minded. The only thing she wishes for is freedom. So, she wishes to get magical powers to go out. I loved her innocence. She got some character development thankfully…

Nangong Yixin ( Jason Gu ) — Nangong is an idle Lord who is very carefree and kinda like a rich, spoiled prince who wanders and travels around the world. Though he has great magical powers, he stays away from official matters of palace. He plays the cool guy outside but is actually a very warm and shy man. It's very funny when Qingqing approaches him by many ways and he can't help but fall for her innocence.

Now, some CONS which took away 2.5★ from it ⸺
➤ from technical point of view, the editing and CGI was kinda messed up in some scenes… like the monster that was meant to be scary was so funny, behaving like a pet dog… but considering it's a low budget production, so that's all we get…
➤ Then, acting was not special… no matter how good a script is, it requires actors who can portray those emotions especially towards the finale when there were more intense scenes (from crying to big revelations), I am not saying they are all bad actors but I think maybe these characters don't suit them and there are some other actors more suitable for it… In the whole drama, Lady Yunxi acted by Wang Yi Fei was the only role that felt real and I could connect to it… all in all, I wanted a better cast here…
➤ then, this drama is indeed little slow paced…
➤ they missed out some great scenes where they can show more fantasy but they completed those scenes in one go…
➤ Since, I was not convinced with the acting, I cannot feel the main lead's chemistry either…

Despite these lackings, I loved the last two episodes, they were perfect.

Rewatch value… I am not the type to rewatch things easily… so obviously not rewatching it.

Overall, a decent historical Rom-Com which comes along with a mix of Xuanhuan and magic. I would rather say, that it tried to deliver something different.

Could It be Any Worst

I found it to be not worth it. I wanted the story to be good but the first thing that bother me was the lead female character. Like always they make this girls stupid, weak with no ideology or logic yet she had all this power. They also give her a naïve, stupid maid. Everyone can push the lead character around even other maids. She so kind that she does not hurt anyone even those who are trying to kill her. She so loyal to her sister and father even when they are mean to her. It just disgusted me. All thru the drama until the 20th episode it was the same, it did not change. The romance to me was not there. I could not see any real chemistry. The male lead is a strong brother to the royal prince but has so many secrets that he shares only with a few. The rest of the characters just turn me off. Many of the scenes was so predictable and some of the characters had terrible acting skills. The ending made it even worst. Very disappointing.

It took me a while to get into this drama. The first 10 episodes were really dull and I don't blame the actors/actresses, but I do blame the storyline. The story did pick up after episode 10. Cheng Xiao (Lu Qing Qing) is the type of actress that needs to grow on me because my first impression was okay but not someone I can truly praise right now. I would have to see more acting from her since this is just my 2nd time viewing her. She really does well in dancing and singing. I did love the main lead actor Jason Gu (Nangong Yi Xin) but this was my first time seeing him play a serious role. I loved all of the martial art and the fantasy was great. The costumes of the Empress were all beautiful, never seen that design before and I applaud whoever is the designer. Thank you to all the actors/actresses who did very well.

An excellent drama

Personally, this drama is extremely smooth and easy-going. It's a very light and simple rom-com historical drama with some characters having magical abilities. The pacing of the drama was extremely good and the chemistry between the leads is very sweet and strong. I watched all the episodes the moment it got released in Chinese. The drama consists of many sweet and loving scenes between the characters and the storyline was very easy to follow through and easy to understand.
I must say this is definitely worth the watch and highly recommended! :)

Typical Romantic Fluff

What can I say about this story? Simple and it would have been so much better had the FL's character not been so irritatingly STUPID! I tried hard to see her as innocent and naive, but even innocents have more sense than this one portrayed. Loved the ML - liked the couples, and the unexpected ending for the FL's sister.

This series won't win any awards for CGI or really for much of anything else, but it was cute and once you could ignore the FL's dumbness for too long in the series, you might enjoy it for a bit of light watching.

The Empress was deliciously snobby, and just able the most believable character of the lot. The Crown Prince was clueless but cute, and he grew on me. Wish he had found his princess.

All-in-all, I love a happy ending. I skipped a lot of episodes because I just couldn't take watching the FL any longer - and fast-forwarded to the last two episodes which were surprisingly rewarding.

The journey after the power stone!

Im a fan of the leads but not a fan of the story too much !

First of all the female lead is gorgeous Cheng Xiao! so pretty in fantasy dramas! The leads are cute with cute chemistry, wish they have more kissing scenes! There is a total of one kiss on the lips but more female lead pecking the cheek of male lead.

Backstory: Ling Nu ( she holds the power stone, jumps off of the cliff) Even since then people have been trying to find her and the power stone. Little did you know she hid the power stone in her daughter. This daughter is the female lead and she grows up in the Lu family. She is always looked down upon because she doesnt have any powers! The one who has a lot of power is the male lead, Whenever the female lead is around the male lead she gets a slight increase in power thus always wanting to be around him. Lol she bites him and then later on kisses him on the cheek .

I love the female lead's cute and simple personality, but I dont like her evil dad or the queen. The evil dad just wants to find the power stone for himself! He doesnt even care about the daughter( then again the female lead is not is actually daughter). His character gets kinda annoying. Thats partly why I didnt enjoy the last few eps .

Lighthearted, Not Enough Lighthearted; Angst, Not Enough Angst

I'm just sharing my watching experience. The storyline is quite depressing one, I can feel something I felt while I was watching AoL and LaR in it. This series should can be much better, I don't know why it gone more and more a mess. Somehow, it's still the unique one with unique ending that might a lot people hate, lmao.

First I start, I got the dubbing done horribly. Aside from that, all is done well that I got really attracted. I gonna said it turns out disappointing with the boredom.

The best thing of this series is the hairdo and the screen colours, it's so eyes spoiling. The characters played by Cheng Xiao suits her the best from any series I've ever watched with her as the FL. For the ML, doing as good as usual, but I can't tell if there's any improvement, what I got is his vibes in OME. On the start, he has the differences really well, but somehow turned into just the same characters in OME. As for the chemistry in this series, I don't feel really well, they're stiff at some point. No offense.

Rewatch value 5:5 according personal taste.

ENJOYABLE DRAMA

MY HEART IS THE BEST CHINESE HISTORICAL ROMCOM DRAMA.

I saw really nonsense comments in there.Don't care about them. If you didn't watch yet, don't stop. Go and watch "My heart" !!
Because the drama is really funny and enjoyable. You are smiling in every episode. Also the female lead is so beautiful. The Couple has a good chemistry.

My heart is a historical romcom. Also with magic. It has 24 episode only. You can't feel bored when watching this. It takes all your stress away.

Not worth it !!

One of the stupidest FL I have ever seen ! I am so disappointed since I love the actress and I was excited to see her in this.

Globally the plot had so much potential, it could have been a fun and short drama that you can watch when you do not want to concentrate on a 80 episode drama with a complicated storyline.

I love fantasy drama with costume so in the 1st episode I was hooked and it could have became one of my favorite.

But rapidly it became annoying and frustrating mostly because of the FL. I have never seen a more stupid, annoying, naive and incompetent FL.

At 1st she came as light pure and cute, but there is a line between naive and stupid, she keep doing mistake after mistake and there is no character development.

Yeah I get it, her dad kept her inside so I can understand that she doesn't know how the world works but we all learn from our mistake but she ?! No never

- She understand that she can have power if being near the ML and at no moment she thinks "oh I should tell him", they could have avoid the issue of the guy not having power and almost dying

- The girl said she doesn't want to be the crown princess but literally participate at the Crown princess selection like ARE YOU DUMB!?.... Then she won and she act surprised

-She let he sister maid bully her constantly like girl are you not the master here...

- She let her own maid be punished because she decide to flee the position SHE won in the selection for... and I am not mentioning the fact that because of that the ML was punished to help HER...

- If I was her sister, I would have slapped her a long time ago , also, how you know i am in love with the crown prince, you participate to the CP selection then you give me the ball like ?

- She kept getting close to the CP and hurting her sister at the same time, are you bling the whole planet know she is in love with him and in most other drama her sister would have planned a scheme to kill her or other things but she kept defending her (she did do some things at the end, like hiding the fruit or disguising as her but honestly it was nothing that bad and when she learn her dad is the bad guy she help them) so I kinda like her

It was too much for me to handle, I had to skip scene to finish it.

Other than that I liked most of other characters even if they also had their own flaws, they should have works more on the scenario before filming it.

I like that the ML was beware of her but trust her immediately after, and helped her until the end, but he could have disclose information sooner, the plot would have moved faster and maybe the FL could have acted less dumb

I also appreciate that the dad never mistreated her even if she wasn't his daughter (yeah I know he used her and tried to kill her ) but for most of her life he was nice.

Anyway, conclusion a waste of time.

Simple, light and no stress show!

Okay kids, hear me out. If you are like me who simply:

- likes watching pretty people in pretty costumes (i am biased with Jason Gu soo..)
- likes a simple story with the least amount of subplots (which as we all know convolutes the whole plot)
- least amount of angst, I just wanted to feel good when watching
- stress free light watch that still gives you some feels

Then this is for you. I have started a lot of dramas lately but I at some point lost interest. But My Heart kept me hooked.

I know some people watch for the thick plots with a million conflicts and annoying subplots, and if you are one of those, then skip this one.

But if you like mindless stress free drama, then by all means watch it! They are so cute! This is my second Jason Gu(Gu Jia Cheng) drama, and honestly I am addicted.

It’s a happy ending ya’ll!

A flawless MASTERPIECE

Great great Wuxia with:
- well-constructed, coherent, intelligent story
- superb actors who make us live the story (all, including the 2aires)
- Very cute CL, with realistic psychological evolution, and addictive OTPs so the alchemy is palpable.
- lively realization, without length
- high quality special effects (this demonstrates all the knowledge-skills of Chinese technicians :)
- fully adapted OSTs (well brought but not too present)

In conclusion, a flawless MASTERPIECE that keeps you glued to your screen from start to the end.
