They both have this really eerie and bleak atmosphere. There are also many similar themes such as hypnotism and characters.

Both series shares a pastor leading a cult like organization, leading people to believe in lies and covering crimes by involving past incidents that has nothing to do with an event happening in present. The lives of people closely tied with each other both Save Me and Hometown, shares horrific crimes of human beings.

Both gives similar mystery vibes with misty environment, great actors and suspenseful story line. One must find the truth about death of loved ones.
