Communication is key

The Effect of a Finger Flick on a Breakup (2021)

This is a KBS Drama Special about a couple who breaks up after a finger flick game.

I liked the story, I just felt that the story focused too much on the girl's side and not the guy. The entire time we see the girl is lonely and feels that she was taken for granted in the 3 years they were together. It took a finger flick to realize all these and broke up with the guy.

Of course the guy is confused. They were very fine the night before and suddenly she went cold on him and wouldn't explain why. She just kept saying they don't love each other. I felt that the girl was insisting how the guy should feel and we never knew what the guy really felt about her.

Her outburst in the garden finally told the guy what he hasn't been doing. Girl also said it's also her fault but I never heard her say what she didn't do for him. I thought it should be both ways. And she should have said something earlier on, maybe they have saved the relationship.

I loved the rainy scene outside her house, when the guy gave the umbrella back to her. He still wanted to try again but it was too late. The girl didn't want to anymore.

Mixed feelings with the ending. I still wanted them to get back together coz it looked like the guy has chanhed. But i also liked the PE teacher who looks like he will treasure her more.

Rating: 8.5/10

Red flag with an attractive face is still a red flag. No excuses!

I still can't understand why people were sympathizing and rooting for Min Jae when he is practically a walking red flag?! This kdrama is so realistic and the finger flick was like a metaphor and a catalyst on how Oh Jin's eyes were opened to the truth.

Min Jae does not need a second chance because he keeps on disregarding her feelings and he's keeping her only because he needs her not because he loves her. He only put away the umbrella during the rain scene because he finally realized his mistake and how narcissistic he is.

People were rooting for Min Jae because it's Kang Tae Oh but if the tables were turned with the other ML, would it still be the case? Probably not. People naturally favors charming and pretty people just like Park Jae Eon in Nevertheless. The majority approved the ending in Nevertheless even though everyone knew from the get-go that he is a red flag and the writers even redeemed Jae Eon's character by making it seem like he changed for the better, he changed so that Na Bi would not leave him.

It's very disheartening to know how the public approves of red flags and they easily get away with their bad doings just because they have nice faces. I really admire Oh Jin because once she realized ML is a red flag, she didn't try to turn a blind eye to it. Furthermore, she acknowledged that both of them were at fault for the break-up. She didn't try to sugarcoat the truth that she may have been lacking in some ways in their relationship.

Red flags might look like roses but they are little more than heartache in the end. So please people save yourself from pain and catch red flags early on.

Kindness always wins

Enjoyed the story a lot. Sometimes things that seem small build up in a relationship making you feel completely alone and unloved. That is how the female lead started to feel. She also saw the loveless marriage her parents had and wanted different for herself. Everyone deserves to be cherished.

I am glad she didn't give the male lead a second chance. Old habits die hard. He would have only changed for a short while and then they would have gone back to their status quo. The biggest mistake most women make in relationships is hoping men will change and they never do. Instead she decided to give a man who truly cared for her well being a chance. In the end, kindness goes a long way in showing you care about your partner.

Finger Flick Awakening

I love this movie because it's about realizing that you are lonely when you are with someone you thought you were in a mutual relationship. In other words, you have been taken for granted by someone you're in a relationship with for three years. So, you are all of a sudden has a light bulb above your head. It has to end, learn from yourself, take time to find your true self. This is lesson learned. You can't just stay in a non-receiving end. I liked what her mother told her to find someone who would treasure and care for her and I think the school PE Teacher is promising at the end, but not particularly him though TIME will tell. On the other hand, Min Jae has a lot of learning to do when being in a relationship too. Unfortunately, too late for him to redeem himself to Oh Jin.

Realistic yet sweet

Calm, soothing slice of life.

I like how the story is realistic and begins with the breakup. We did not witness the love story of the main leads, and the short format ( 66 minutes ) makes it hassle-free and comforting to watch :)

Would recommend to watch if you want to take a break from crying rivers watching other kdramas :)

The acting was ok even though I expected more of the ML. I loved the second female lead's acting.
Every character was useful and bought something to the story, even in a short hour.

The Effect of a Finger Flick on a Breakup (2021) – I usually know the title of this drama as written previously. This one is a short Korean drama like a movie since it is just one episode. I like that they showed the process of the break-up and why, how it came to be. The actors, though young looking played their roles perfectly. I like how the drama ended as well. Worth the worth, and I did learn something from this drama. I would recommend this one to casual watchers, and can be great for beginners as well.

How do you define love?

This drama is super adorable! They portray their characters well. Although this is only one episode, they show and execute the plot nicely enough for a short special drama. And I love Oh Jin (Shin Ye Eun) and Koo Won Bin (Hong Kyung) here. They definitely have a chemistry, and even if this has more than 1 episode, I'll surely watch it just for them and see how their relationship blossom in this story.

I'll give this a 10/10! Super Recommendable and won't waste your time. Really worth it~
