Dr. Romantic 3: A Riveting Battle of Ideologies & Gripping Medical Cases

Dr. Romantic 3 primarily revolves around the clash of ideologies between two main characters. The first ideology is embodied by Kim Sabu, who represents an idealistic style of thinking. The second ideology is portrayed by Prof. Cha Jinman, who embodies a realistic style of thinking. While some may not agree, Prof. Cha Jinman was undoubtedly one of the main characters throughout the show.

In the last four episodes, we witnessed intense clashes of opinions between Kang Dongju & Cha Eunjae + Seo Woojin.

Neither Kim Sabu's idealistic thinking nor Prof. Cha Jinman's realistic thinking seemed perfect to me.

However, I found myself partially leaning towards Prof. Cha Jinman's realistic approach. From my perspective, he wasn't the villain that many people made him out to be (I know actor's controversial past but here I am only talking from character's perspective).
I appreciated how he shed light on the challenges doctors face due to angry patients & their families. In the end, doctors are human too & they deserve respect. While he wasn't entirely right, his realistic mindset resonated with me more compared to Kim Sabu's idealistic approach.

In terms of romance there wasn't much development. The main couple's romance seemed stagnant although they started living together but unfortunately, FL's family created unnecessary obstacles that hindered their progress.
The second couple had a smooth relationship until an unnecessary breakup trope was introduced. Frankly, the reason for their breakup seemed quite childish to me.

The cases featured in Dr. Romantic 3 were engaging & intriguing. Personally, I found the cases in Season 3 more interesting compared to those in Seasons 1&2.
Specially, collapsing building case & fire at the chemical plant were the most captivating to me.

Overall, I enjoyed Dr. Romantic 3 more than its predecessors because the cases in this season intrigued me the most.

FINALLY after 3 years and it did not disappoint

my favourite medical drama is back!! i didnt think i could wait 3 years for this season to come out but i waited and its finally here and it definitely didnt lower my expectations.

this cast is one of my favourite casting, ever i think. also the new additions to the cast, Lee Shin Young and Lee Hong Nae is the best thing ever.

i might change my rating depending on the ending but right now its amazing, the plottwists and storyline is amazing. (i have changed it and the added info is below)

this is the second drama ive watched with Lee Hong Nae in it but hes such an amazing actor must i say, i couldnt get over his acting in 'the uncanny counter' that i honestly thought he would be evil in this drama as well because of the impact he made in that drama.

and now i have finally finished the drama and can i say that it did not disappoint ONE BIT. kang dong ju coming back was so unexpected but definitely not random. it helped the storyline go from a 9 to 10 in my opinion. i loved the fact that there was plot twists and other surprising things like seo woojin knowing kang dong ju and the history behind that.

i also saw someone say that yoon a reum and park eun tak breaking up was unnecessary but i thought the total opposite, it helped their relationship grow and taught them a lot.

ALSO THE LITTLE ENDING SCENE, hopefully its hinting at a season 4??? i really hope to see season 4 with both season 1 and 3 casts combining to make doldam a great hospital. 100% the best medical drama ive ever watched

BEST INSPIRING DRAMA {WORTH WAITING FOR 3 YEARS}

Actually after watching 1,2 eps i wrote a review on this drama that i'm not satisfied with it and yes after completion of drama i felt like this is what i missed . Most of the dramas these days are focusing on the side stories than main plot and i felt may be this will also change like those dramas but, doctor romantic never fails to impress us .

1st of all i want to talk about the cast . They are the perfect cast for this drama. As master kim said they are the perfect team of doldam . This is really worth waiting for 3 years. Especially the reunion of season 1 cast is the best part. Along with Kang dong joo and Yoo seo jung doldam has became the unbeatable team. As per what i think may be Yoo seojung works in doldam because she has the same thought as seo woo jin on master kim. She always wanted to work with him and never leave doldam.

Hope this series continuous and give us more seasons ( just a little hope even if it never happens )

As always "Perfect"

As always "perfect"
I will always miss this drama.
This 3rd season managed to fulfill all my wishes. And that's more than enough for me, but I would gladly accept a fourth season too.

There are so many things I like about this drama.
The first thing is character development.
From the first episode of the first season , upto this point each and every character had their stories and now all of them are developed than we first saw them. Heroes turned into greater heroes, some villains became heroes while some realized their mistakes, and others found the answers for their problems.

I can see some characters are recieving hate in the comment section, but to me all the characters were written perfectly, everything was on the spot.
For and example I can see not many people like Cha Eun Jae, but given her family background and how she grew up, she could have become worse, but she turned out to be just fine, selfless nice doctor and an adorable lovely lover.

As of my POV this season gave a good ending to every character in the drama, and to be honest the second season did the exact same thing too, I didn't even expect a 3rd season because the second season was a perfect finale too, and the same goes for the 3rd season.

And I was really happy to see Kang Dong Ju in the drama again, and in the final moment my long awaited wish was granted too, It would have been nice to see her face and hear her voice, but it can wait , I don't mind a special episode like always.

I really like this Dr. Romantic drama series. I should check the writers other works too.
This is the only drama with multiple seasons that doesn't leave a heavy heart with a cliff-hanger. So this will be my top drama series forever.

After typing a whole essay in the comment section I feel like I should add this as a review, sorry for the long comment. Bye. Lovely drama.

"Don't give up on the question why we live and what we live for, the moment we give up on that question, our romance is over "

Officially one of my fav kdramas out there!

When a show has more than 1 or 2 seasons, it is highly possible for it to be less executed, but that is the opposite of what Dr.romantic is! The more, the better.
This show never failed in many ways, it is extremely well executed, the acting is superb, the story line is well written and the character building (which was my fav part) was realistic and perfect.
I really hope that it will have more season as there is high potential to make it even more successful by adding all the 3 seasons characters in one.

Craving for more

A high-quality medical drama that consecutively showcases their greatness in their chosen genre. Three seasons and I wanted some more. I am totally hyped the moment they announced this sequel. The building of Doldam Trauma Hospital proves that the future of those who work hard will always be in good hands.

The stories are not as impactful compared to the two previous seasons and this may be the reason why this is my least favorite among the three. Yet, it is still as good as it is. The way they introduced Professor Cha’s character makes way for the viewers to realize that Master Kim does not always have the best solution that fits both the patient and the doctors. I like his intimidating character and his pride of him as an experienced professional. It’s a pity that he has to say goodbye and totally disappeared during the finale.

There is always a new beginning for some endings. The return of Kang Dong Joo brings more spice to the drama. The characters from the first season have always had a special place in my heart. I love his appearance as I am getting tired of seeing such a downgrade of attitude from Seo Woo Jin. Season three is not his season and his recklessness is too heavy to consume while watching.

I have a feeling that a fourth season is possible and all of the main characters from each season may get together. The finale of season three is too open-ended. I will patiently wait until the production dropped the announcement for another sequel with powerful castings. My expectation is high but I hope they can write another impressive batch of stories to be featured in a possible next season.

Byun Baekhyun is the back as well! He sang another emotional song, “Hello.” His voice is literally perfect for the vibes that Dr. Romantic has. “My Love,” the OST of the second season is still now one of my favorite K-OSTs of all time. The background music also from this show is exceptionally unique and perfect for medical cases.

I love the third season but as I mentioned earlier, not as much as I love the two previous seasons. Dr. Romantic is the perfect medical romance drama for people who wants to get inspired and get to know more about the superheroes' life of our medical practitioners.

Great season, but quite a letdown from the previous seasons. Still, recommended to watch!

This will be a very long review.

In the beginning, it feels so grand. We could see how much the budget was and how big the investment they put into this season. The premise is good. We got updates on how everything is going after 3 years passed. All the surgical scenes are amazing and realistic, even better than in the previous seasons.

Each of the characters is great. The writer really knows how to make each character different and charming. They have their own story too. It's about Doldam, not only Kim Sabu, which I personally liked. However, maybe because now there are so many characters that the writer kinda lost focus on which character should get more screen time and get proper closure.
For a good example, I love how we now know what happened between Dr. Jung Insu with his family. We know since season 1 he lived separately from his family. In Season 2, he even considered the sketchy offer from Seo Woojin's senior who became a broker so he could move to Seoul and go back to his family. So it's very nice to have his full story and even a happy ending in the last episode (I LOVE his daughter. Byul is such a ball ray of happiness).
However, I'm disappointed with Park Euntak's story. I feel like it could have had better progression and closure, but they finished it in only 2 episodes and even we couldn't focus too much because of the soldier shooting story. We didn't get Yoon Ahreum and Bae Moonjung's backstory at all. I also think that Jang Donghwa also has a better development story than Lee Seonung. But the worst part is, Cha Jinman took too much screentime, and then he just disappear? Like... What's the point of building up 12 episodes and then discarding him? Also, Kang Dongju only had 4 episodes and they crammed all the problems??? I know it's not easy to build a good story so I just feel it's a pity...

I like that this season doesn't have a real villain like in the previous seasons. We just see people with clashed opinions and different personalities, which is echoing real life. They have their own reasons to feel a certain way or taking decisions due to their experiences and upbringing. When we think objectively, we could understand why they feel or behave that way. It's more in-depth. Even Kim Sabu really questioned his ideals after seeing Cha Jinman and vice versa. It's a great way to improve for the better. However, I disliked that Assemblywoman Ko became the "villain" because of his son. It's unnecessary and too heartbreaking. I think, even without that plot, the third season is still as good as it is.

Moreover, many problems are too overdramatic, like the soldier who shoots for revenge, hurting Park Euntak's "friends" but then Seo Woojin walked away unscratched like?? fr??? Also when the writer keeps making Seo Woojin in danger I sighed. Even though it's for plot devices, I just wonder why the writer make it that way. I still think the cases in S1 & 2 have better impacts with smaller problems and scales than this season, like the legendary brain death paramedic story. It's simple but very tear-jerking and heart-wrenching.

What I disliked the most is how the writer underutilized the female characters, especially Cha Eunjae. She is shaken due to his father's opinion which leads to almost table death. She need to stay strong when she heard Seo Woojin got hurt and even proceed to make her do surgery. She is just being a saint in the middle of the season when the whole hospital talking bad about his father. Even after everything she went through, she only cried in front of Seo Woojin twice. And when everything starts to become normal, the writer made Cha Eunjae clashes with Kang Dongju which led her character to get hated by the viewers. It's too much. She deserves a better story. I feel sorry for Lee Sungkyung. I also disliked how the writer barely includes Yoon Ahreum in "heroic" scenes. Also the little screentime for Nurse Oh but thankfully she got much screentime at the end of the season.

What makes me give a higher score than it actually is, is due to the execution excellence from the cast and the production team. Even though the story sometimes makes you go "huh?", their acting is convincing you. The actors are so good at their job. I totally forgot that they are actors, not real doctors or nurses. Their acting is even better than the previous season. I cried more in this season compared to the cumulative of S1&2. The cinematography leaves you in awe. The music background elevates the scenes. So it makes me forgive all the shortcomings that came from the lack of the story.

Overall, I feel like the story is inconsistent, unlike the previous season. Sometimes it feels too slow, but then things are solved too quickly. Many parts are broken and don't flow nicely. However, I understand the writer's intention in what messages she wants to convey. Still, compared to other dramas out there, this season is far better. I still recommend people to watch it. Maybe you will like it more than I do. Please give it a try, and enjoy all the romanticism of the Dr. Romantic series!

I realize I'm in the minority, but certain aspects of this actually made me angry!

If you watched and loved this drama, please just ignore my review and move on. No need for hateful comments.

There was so much that was out of whack with this drama, but I'll start with what I liked.
1) Main couple had some cute scenes together. There could have been more romance, but since that isn't the focus, I'll give it a pass.
2) Kim Min Jae as Nurse Eun Tak. He's just a cutie and I liked his character.
3) The friendships between the hospital staff. And you gotta love Mr. Goo.

Not so much:
1) Eavesdropping continued from season 2. Everyone was talking about everything out in the open, or the walls were so thin that they could be heard through. Is HIPAA not a thing in Korea?
2) Eun Jae's father is brought on board to run the trauma center. I don't think this would happen for two reasons: 1) the problems between the two of them, and 2) He says that he'll come on board if Dr. Kim leaves? They've just said that Dr. Kim is the reason for the success of Doldam hospital! I know you need "bad guys" to move the story along, but this was implausible to me.
3) Jang Dong Hwa - he was a complete slacker and a danger to patients because of it. There is no way they would have kept him on staff.
4) Ah Reum and Eun Tak. Cute, but in this season, she seemed so much older than him. I don't know if it was makeup or what. I did, however, like their conversation about what they want out of life and getting a house.
5) The character of Jang Gi Tae was still way over the top. What's with the laugh?
6) I don't know if it was due to the script, but I didn't find the acting, in general, to be as good in this season.

The most irritating things for me:
1) The entire staff flew to the North Korean ship!?!?!
2) So, initially there wasn't even going to be a Doldam hospital, but then they got approval for the other and were going to keep BOTH open?! I don't think so.
3) The thing that irritated me most was when the fire was heading toward the hospital. They have evacuated the patients, but they can't find Dr. Kim. He is found by one of the nurses in the OR "contemplating" everything that has gone on in that room, and, according to her, how many patients he has saved. A fire is raging, yet all the medical staff stays in the building looking for a doctor that won't answer his phone, then even though he knows what is going on, he just calmly stands there talking to the nurse. I thought the acting in this section of the show was seriously lacking. Then when the rain comes, the size of that fire wouldn't have been put out that quickly with that amount of rain.
4) Patients come in to be treated. "Oh, our staff is still evacuated until tomorrow". They would have had to let someone know this ahead of time so that patients could be transported elsewhere.

I complete this once I started it, but was sorry for the time I wasted.

Good Enough

Korean Drama " Doctor Romantic Season Three " is the third part of the popular medical series. Following the same pattern as they did in the previous ones, it offers plenty of action packed and emotional cases, while focusing on the doctors and the personnel.

In addition, the cast of the second season was back in full speed, with even those from the first season being added, which brought some nostalgic feelings forward. The performances, moreover, were all enjoyable and everyone handled their characters masterfully.

The plot was also entertaining, though the cases and the political intrigue were more interesting compared to the romance part of the story. Actually, the love stories could have been omitted, as they were added in awkward moments, like when the hospital was dealing with a crisis and had to treat dozens of patients at once.

So, overall, seven and a half out of ten.

Well done, but...

Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 3 is probably the weakest season and yet it manages to deliver great performances, character development and music. It ends the main story perfectly and even leaves the opportunity for another season open. Well done.

I particularly liked how Nurse Eun-tak and Dr. Jung had a chance to shine this season, with their own storylines, and not as supportive characters only. I also appreciate the full circle moment of having former cast members comeback for important guest roles. This story is no longer about Kim Sabu teaching his younger colleagues, but those former students teaching others now. Wonderful.

Full disclosure: it was difficult for me to watch this season without having to fast forward scenes featuring an actor who I know is a piece of 💩 IRL. I find contradictory this person was cast on a tv show where ethic behaviour serves at the backbone for Kim Sabu's teachings, personality and other characters's arc. Do better, show. Stay away from that one actor in the future.

You might be wondering, why comment on this? Because as a viewer it changed my experience of this drama. A drama I have been following since it aired its first season in 2016. On this season, when this particular actor was on the screen, I found it nauseating and annoying. Once he was gone, a little over midway in the season, things got far more interesting and the story even better. The show ended strong because he was not there.

If producers and writers are making plans for a fourth season, they should consider not hiring this man again. It distroys everything he touches.

The best of the 3

If you’ve watched all 3 seasons, I think you’d appreciate this season the most.

The first one was kinda boring to me. Maybe because they had to lay the groundwork for the storyline? S2 was intense but S3 was the best. Not because of the actors, but because each episode had very interesting cases- very outrageous cases; just like Grey’s Anatomy! Things like forest fires, a tree branch stuck in the abdomen, building collapsing and on-site medical rescue etc.. so kudos to the writers for being very “American” in a sense. The pace is fast so I liked it. Minus the sleeping around with each other kind of antics.

If you’re looking for romance per se, it’s not so evident here. Just a hint here and there but it’s not the main focus. What I didn’t particularly fancy was how in every season, it’s the same ol ’ trope of higher uppers trying to disdain Master Kim and take over or close down Doldam Hospital. If there is a S4, I hope the writers come up with a different and new plot.

If you like medical dramas, this is a definite watch. Enjoy!
