At first, I wasn't very keen on watching the drama. Honestly, I didn't even think that I'll watch it. But then when I spotted Jeong Ji So in DAYS and came to know she is the lead in Imitation, I thought of watching it. But the urge to watch it started because of all the Instagram hype.

The drama is about young trainees who wish to be a k-pop idol. I wouldn't say there is any main character as such since all the characters had their own story to tell. But Lee Ma-ha and Kwon Ryok plays the lead. Ma-ha is trying to debut but is always failing due to some reason and Ryok is the most loved member of the most loved group.

The drama talks about the struggles of an idol or a trainee but it isn't just that. It also have love and romance. Many people thought that adding romance into it was not a good move but I loved it. The storyline was good and I liked it.

Gradually, I started liking all the characters in the drama. The acting was very good. The drama is so addictive and fun to watch. I didn't get bored in any episode. It started out slow but didn't fail to maintain it's pace.

The romance angle was also good. By the end, the story became very emotional and I did shed some tears.
The best part was that there weren't evil characters. The drama showed genuine friendship.
I wish we would have gotten some more episodes. La Li Ma's character was so well written ?

I actually loved the show. But I see many bad reviews and ratings for the show which I think isn't fair.

I would say give it a try. It's worth watching.

This one might appeal to a KPOP enthusiast

Please allow me to explain the headline. This show might be able to shed some light on the lives of idols from diets to contracts. The artists displayed a great amount of romance while teaching the audience about friendship, trust, struggles, and goals. One of my favorite aspects of this show is how lighthearted and enjoyable it is.

The cast was amazing! Ri-Ma, Ri-A, and Do-Jin were my personal favorites. Ri-Ma, on the other hand, stole the spotlight with her character development and when she rescue of the trainees from her former company, which was planning to sell them to the NOG entertainment. Ri-A and Do-Jin, on the other hand, are both easygoing and have a good sense of humor.

I absolutely like Tea Party's music, so let's get to the concert/ending! I appreciate watching their performance since it is catchy and upbeat. Even though the music of the other groups is not my taste, they all performed admirably in that scene when they sang Eun-Jo's song.

Overall, if someone asked me for a light and quick drama, I would recommend this one.

Not PERFECT but FUN!!!!!

I think viewers nowadays expect some perfectly written kdramas with top tier actors and flawless characters. This drama is NOT THAT!!! However, it is sooooo entertaining and addicting to binge watch. It's really cliche and cringy to the point that it's actually good. The bromance between the Shax members with all the bickering and teasing, the love-hate relationships between managers and the idols and the lowkey flirting between girl groups and boy groups. This drama has it all!!!

It also touches a lot on the current issues of the kpop industry including reporters blackmailing companies using idol couple scandals, agencies abusing and mistreating their idols, young and naive trainees taken advantage of and suicides due to pressure from the industry. If you are a fan of kpop or atleast are familiar with it, give this drama a shot.

The cast also did not deserve the hate they received as I think their acting are up to standards....obviously it wasn't a gong yoo or a son ye jin performance but it is good enough.

Worth to watch

Production: This drama has a great cinematography, the color grading they use was great. But unfortunately they cant't promote it properly, KBS and Kakao promote the group but with no context. So what's for? People might be confused an then don't give a fudge.

Story: A little bit different from webtoon. But there's no plot hole found on ep 1. Flashback transition was smooth, you wouldn't feel strange or confuse. The first episode contain Maha's Journey from beginning till become Lalima's copy. I enjoy watching this, the story is fresh an would give you new things.

Acting: Overall great. Nayoung a little bit awkward in the first minute, but she's doing great with crying scene. Minseo great, but when it comes to crying she's a bit meh. There's some scene where's Maha doing an strange expression, but i can tell she's a great actress. Yunho sounds a bit awkward when he talks, but he can improve, i can see it. Suwoong, he's great because i feel annoyed with his role. First, Jongho a bit awkward but then he's improved and become cutie pie. Jun, i feel annoyed with his role, good things then. Jiyeon, she's only got 2 minutes scene but i can accept it because the first episode was intro to Maha, her stage presence we can't deny, she's professional. Jiyeon is a great actress so i'm not gonna worry about her.

Music: All i can say is GREAT, i like omega3's song lol. Lalima's song? thumbs up, i want to listen for the full version, it's a bop.

A REEEEALLY GOOD SHOW (I mean it contains a little spoilers??)

I loved this show so much~ I was balling my eyes out at the song. Seeing La RiMa worried about the girls when they went to audition was touching too. I loved the plot of how they originally didnt get along but they got over it pretty fast and started crushing on each other. Ryoc was adorable trying to win her over lolll. As a Atiny i was salty watching Yujin put the moves on Hyunji lollll was like "he's smiling a liiiittle too much -.- ik he aint that good of an actor" lolll all jokes aside i really enjoyed the show and the acting was great. If there is a chance of a season 2 I'd love to see it. Kinda see how Ryoc's and Maha's relationship develops and how JH get's bigger and ofc the problems with fans reaction to them dating. Such a good show, I recommend it 100%

ATINY's UNITE!

I'm 99% here for ATEEZ, 1% here as a K-Pop fan and 100% stoked af about this whole series! Even if you aren't a K-Pop fan, we can all relate to parts of this drama in so many different ways whether from being overlooked, scared, jealous or in love. Obviously, I was OBSESSED with the cast, from the visuals to the singing I was hooked! The romance had a few cheesy parts, but nothing to serious. In the beginning it was a little cliché but it got so much better as it went. It was incredibly realistic with issues of personal life and being overworked in the industry. Shipped set sail and their was really cute bromance. The last ep put me in tears and I love it lol

Love it so much I can't wait for more!

Ahh so far it may be cheesy but it seems so good can't wait for more! I think it'll be really interesting to see the other side of the idol industry through this show and that the actors seem pretty well equipped considering most of them are idols or former idols. They've put so much effort into the show and I can feel it. They're actually dancing and singing and even went as far as to make real twitter accounts and go on music shows. That's dedication and so admirable. Plus since acting is new for some of them they're already making me excited to see where their characters go. There's so much they could do and I know they changed a lot from the webtoon so it'll be interesting.

Honest review~

Im a fan of korean drama since 2016 and I've seen a lot of dramas from drama, thriller, romance, fantasy, sci-fi, comedy, idol, and historical dramas and I was actually amazed by this new actors. Honestly speaking idols acting in a drama was kinda awkward but because the story focuses more on idols I think their acting was real because they already have experienced a daily life of being a trainee turned into idol and I think its suited to have idols in this drama. And it was great seeing almost all of them know how to act properly and I'm still looking forward on what ending we will get!

The ratings are so low for no reason. My only assumption is other fandoms are just that petty and hate seeing other groups/idols succeed.

The show is actually really great! I highly recommend so don't let the poor ratings fool you!

This drama is an eye opener to the kpop world

Damn!!!!! The story line is great and i must admit that every cast fits their character too. Oh, KQ debut too ?. Watching this drama, i saw the struggle of these idols. It aint easy to debut at all.

The ost, i won't lie, i'm not into it yet but i think its because this is just the first episode.
I never expected it to be this good, but it was awesome. I thought the actors wont be so natural since a lot of them made their acting debut with this drama, but i was shocked at how natural they all are.

This is a must watch for every kpop stan out there. Also for non kpop stan. I love this episode so much. They surprised me a lot.
