In short >>Better written than most dramas I've seen, but not my cup of tea<<

How long this took me I cannot say. A month ? It must be around that. The reason isn't the writing or the acting, but simply because it isn't my thing. I cared, at first ; but through the episodes, I cared less and less, all I wanted was to finish it.

Story :

As I said, it is better written than most dramas I've experienced, which, considering the average level isn't too hard. Unlike most dramas, it doesn't lose itself in endless fanservice, it doesn't go in every directions to the point some episodes feel pointless. It knows where it goes, what is its points and try developing and going for it while avoiding digressions as much as possible. Despite that, some doors are opened and lead to nothing, typical mistake from dramas, but in comparison, it isn't as common and has to be therefore praised. It also has some stupid moments, especially the ending, which is incoherent with the first episode and seems to be a twist for the sake of a twist ; it is sad, but doesn't stop that, overall, it is a better piece of writing than the average drama.

Characters :

I don't have much to say, you have the mentally handicaped character, because drama trope ! (well, doesn't stop it to work on me XD) You cannot speak of real chara development, especially the sidekicks, as for the main characters... Well, they are a bit more complex than your average drama characters but aren't groundbreaking. I do have some issues with some bad mentalities some chara vehiculate (we are in 2015, please, evolve) and the treatment of the husband, which, thanksfully isn't limited to the cheater stereotype, that I have to praise as well, it brings up the high issues of justice in terms of divorce and child care...by copying what is so wrong with it is quite annoying and frustrating ; once again, we are in 2015, learn justice and equality.

Acting & Soundtrack :

They do their job properly. Really, I have nothing to say about it in particular.

Filming :

Once again, better than the average drama By, for example, knowing how transitions work, how they are used and when. It sounds like some basic thing, but it is to point out most dramas do not seem to know said basic.

Rewatch value :

As I didn't like it, I won't rewatch it. But if you're the type not getting how transitions work, you can always rewatch it and pay attention to how they are done.

Overall :

It's a shame that what is better than average is something that I dislike on personal taste. I do hope, though, that it fits the tastes of others. If you are into fanservice, exaggerated melodrama or other stuff like that, it is better you skip it, you'll be utterly disappointed.

I love when Korean Dramas are different from the usual Romantic Comedy crop that we always see. So when I watched the first episode, I was really excited that this would be the drama to watch. A time traveling mystery sounds right up my alley.

Unfortunately, despite the great acting from everyone, I found this to be really predictable and tedious. Almost right away you know who killed Saet Byul, which is fine. There are times when you solve the mystery quickly, but you still enjoy the story as all of the secrets are unraveled and the characters try to figure things out. Only, I didn't.

I know saving Saet Byul is what any parent would do, but I found Soo Hyun really stupid at times. Good acting, but really stupid character. It's one thing to do everything in your power to save your daughter, but Soo Hyun was just reckless. Save your daughter, I'm with you. But you don't need to kill yourself before she's even kidnapped. Then both of you are dead and that doesn't solve anything.

I watched 4.5 episodes of this drama then dropped it, because the story started to get really tedious and boring. I watched the last episode and it confirmed my suspicions in the start of the drama.

I'm glad that this was still out there though, as the kdrama market really needs more shows like this out there.

fuck the ending. the last episode was so abrupt and rushed. and the ambiguity felt forcefully inserted at the end. so stupid. it felt like a cheap way to end the show. This would've been a solid 8 were it not for the ending. I seriously feel like I got cheated. I wasted my time watching a pretty decent conspiracy drama only to have it cheapened in the last 5 minutes of the last episode. Dude, I'm pretty angry. It felt like the writers suddenly went "hey, let's try this cool thing to fuck with the viewers muahaha." The end was seriously... gawd.

Solid performances by the leads and the little girl was amazing. That's why I kept going, honestly. I don't shy away from giving up a drama. I stopped at episode 15 out of 16 for one drama because I thought it was just too ridiculous at that point. With this one, I would have stopped by episode 12, but I love the two leads so much, and that little girl is too damn adorable and such a great actress.

This has no re-watch value. I think it's sort of worth watching for the acting, you know? Maybe. The mom's character was annoying at time with her capricious actions and the typical cliche of characters NOT EXPLAINING ANYTHING in a span of like 5 minutes. Like, you had 5 minutes to reveal pertinent information, but instead you mumble your apologies and confusion for 5 whole minutes only to die. I hate that trope the most in Korean dramas and it is used a lot here.

So, a lot of plot holes and unanswered questions are left hanging.

This drama is about Han Saet Byul, a 9 years old girl, and her mother, Kim Soo Hyun (played by a GREAT Lee Bo Young). After her daughter is kidnapped and murdered, Soo Hyun is able to travel 14 days back in the past and repet the last days with her daughter from the beginning.
She will try to save Sae Byul and catch the killer with the help of Ki Dong Chan, a private inspector.

I really enjoyed this drama: interesting plot, great acting and thrilling atmosphere! Lee Bo Young is really good while crying and playing an anxious yet determinated mother.

In my opinion I won't rewatch it because I'd alreay know who the killer is and why XD

This is my first review and I am doing mainly because this drama was so bad. I've never imagined that someone can create something this illogical. During all episodes my reactions could be described as "wtf was this???" You could just recorded everything, showed it to the world and voila.
The plot was good but there were many things that weren't clear. I love a good old mystery series with a twist. The beginning of the series gave me hope that in the end everything will turn better - from the annoying acting to the whole mystery thing. Sadly, it didn't happen.
I can't even say how someone can praise the actors for their job. Personally, I thought that all emotions were magnified ten times. The mother was just annoying, especially the scenes where she always grabbed the leg of the possible culprit. Speaking about them, it seemed that the mother reacted without even thinking. Sometimes she seemed coherent enough and took some meaningful and rational actions but most of the times she was just annoying.
The little girl - she was wonderful and cute. I guess, she was the smartest person in the series.
Dong Chan - he wasn't annoying, he actually did a great job. But then I saw the last episode which was probably the worst way to end any drama. Well, and there I thought that it couldn't get any worse...
The husband - miserable character. Cold, then doing stupid things and then a cry-baby.
Dong Chan's family - I have nothing against mentally disabled people, truly, but in this show they all seemed too unnatural.
The bad guys - well, at least they were intelligent, clever, bad and evil enough to make sure that the mystery existed at all. Although the main bad guy wasn't very convincing. Most of the times he looked just bored.

If you want to see a good mystery series, you can try and watch this but in the end you will be disappointed. I would recommend to find something else.

The ending I did not get though but I don't spoil it is worth the watch. I want more time travel Korean dramas so hopefully they make more of that theme :)

Pure crime detective drama

Classic
It’s a pure crime detective drama but with extra light characters and scenes that add some smile into this brutal world.

Insane plot
The plot is just crazy. It’s not easy to follow the story and understand what is going on. In every episode there is one new perpetrator and suspect or two. The story suddenly turns and goes into a different direction. I’m afraid the director teasing viewers, up to the last minutes we can’t say anything about what would be the ending.

Class actors
Jo Seun Woo is fantastic! I really don’t know how he was able to create such a vivid, bright and thrilling character. Amazing job!
Lee Bo Young is not my favourite actress. But I am surprised in a positive sense. Even her mannerism of acting looks okay here.
The chemistry between main leads is so intense! Although there are a lot of nasty bad guys and murderers, blood and violence, I watch drama with pleasure thanks to the main actors.
We can’t forget about the child actor who has a lot of job during the whole drama (though I still don’t understand how leads could lost the child about ten hundreds times)

Fighting
The director created fast paced story with unexpected elements but at the same time characters give to this story human dimension and profoundness. Mainly they catch the bad guys but also present touching relationship.

Cinematography is great. Fighting scenes are wonderful if I can say this about this.

End
Of course, perhaps someone would like the better ending, more realistic and probabilistic, something simple since the ending is complicated and twisted as a whole plot, but still, it’s a fine detective story, where the mother and ajussi try to fight against the evil.

Drama touches the serious problem of abducting and killing child and if you have the nerve for this and if you can keep up with the heavy plot – you probably will enjoy it a lot. It’s classic.

“Do you know Ahjumma? In the end you and I, we changed fate.”

The start of this drama is quite dark but by episode three it starts getting into the swing of things.
The story gripped me and I really wanted to see what would happen with the scenario.
You wouldn’t think that a show like this could be fun, but at times it was.
It’s a bit repetitive with Soo Hyun losing her shit over and over again and just going into a panic and not thinking except in mother mode. Her character isn’t bad though. When she’s not flailing around, or even when she is, she does know how to use her brains and can act fast. She gets into a few fights and has to go tooth and nail to survive but she can wiggle her way out of a mess.
Not surprising, there are three men in Soo Hyun’s life who are protecting her in some capacity. And who are ready to fight for her in their own spheres.
The other annoying thing is that whenever a revelation is about to be revealed they get interrupted. That is such a lame plot device.
I liked seeing Soo Hyun’s attitude towards Young Gyu change.
The show gets intense towards the end.

Dong Chan

There is no romance but you can see the way Dong Chan feels about his Ahjumma. He never says her name, I don’t think.

“You’re wild just like your mother.”

Dong Chan is as nice guy. I like how tough as nails he’s supposed to be. And then he disguises his kindness in his rough way by saying sarcastic things but he makes it so much more cheery.
I love how natural singing is in Korean dramas. Dong Chan’s singing was definitely a highlight.
I liked seeing a bit of conflict between older and steady characters. There’s a really intense scene when Dong Chan intervenes between Soo Hyun and her husband and you can see the complexity of the situation.

A bit sad to see the beautiful Kim Yu Bi acting like a brat. But she also has an overgenerous spirit that can be charming when it’s not grating.
She fights with her mother a lot, but mainly because she’s afraid and in awe of her.

“I also want to become a person like you.”

It was really interesting to see Ji Hoon’s parenting contrasted and compared to Soo Hyun’s throughout the drama. Initially, he is obviously not in a panic and he doesn’t suffer over worry of his daughter because he has no idea. He is also the “good cop” when it comes to parenting. But things change.

It’s also fascinating to see how Soo Hyun comes to distrust her husband and trust Dong Chang. Even as Dong Chan is calling her ahjummah, he’s the one that can so naturally hold her and be her support.

The ending? Mind blowing.

first I should say that this drama was seriously amazing !!
I watched it a bit late and I'm not sure why but in the end it worth watching it !!
all the actors and the actress were good except some that I didn't like actually but it didn't affect a lot , they were actually two of them but thats ok. In the end we always pay attention to the main lead characters more than the others.
I liked the male lead more than the female cuz actually there were these situations that I hated her a little bit for some reasons but anyway I liked her in the end
For the story, I liked it a lot since it was unique to me and I liked how this drama is showing us how the mother can be too crazy sometimes and why? not because you stole her money or hit her in her face, NO! its only because you touched her little daughter !!!
Also it gives you a lesson that you should appreciate every moment you spend with people you love cuz you don't know what would happen after that moment and you shouldn't trust people too much even if they were beside you !!
For the music I actually didn't pay attention since it was all music there was no songs. Usually in kdrama they put different songs. Anyway the music was good. it wasn't bothersome and it wasn't attractive in the same time
The end of the drama was not too happy and not too sad but for me I didn't like too much!! it doesn't mean I hate these kind of ending but this one I wish it was a bit different :( some people liked it though

Best Mystery Thriller

I love mysteries. This one had me on the edge of my seat through the whole drama. It had me guessing over and over again who the bad guys were. I knew it had to be the wealthy but then I had to figure out who was being manipulated and who the manipulators were.

The old man was a surprise as one protecting his dead son’s reputation. I wondered what happened to Saet buyl’s Dad. He seemed so devoted to his family only to cheat on his wife.

When the murderer was revealed I wanted someone to beat the crap out of him and Dong Chan came through.

Too bad I didn’t get to see the president’s wife and the Secretary suffer.

All in all this drama was like a good book that I couldn’t put down only to be sorry it’s over.

I’ll watch again because I missed so much.

Loved the character Dong Chan. Again Cho Seung Woo doesn’t disappoint. It’s like I can’t get enough of watching him no matter what character he plays.

Ever watched a drama that feels tiring and rushed at the same time?

Why is every k-drama evil-ish unfaithful and pathetic husband? More than the drama character the drama producer and writer always force that idea down ur throat for no reason... Feels very artificial, tiring and predictable. It feels like I am watching a homely version of Japanese cuckold porn.
Also, y is the kid so senseless... I don't know about the kidnapper/murderer if I were the parent , I would have abandoned the child myself. The kid herself has more lies, wayward behaviour, idiot-menatlity and mistakes than a mid-life crisis-filled k-drama husband.
Somehow, it feels like the daughter is dying to get kidnapped.
