"Chief Detective 1958" Climbs Back to Double-Digit Ratings
On April 15, tvN released still-cuts of its upcoming Monday-Tuesday K-drama Family: The Unbreakable Bond featuring Cha Tae Hyun. The actor, who is also a close friend of the show's protagonist Jang Hyuk, will be making a special appearance in the first episode of the drama.
The stills released show Cha Tae Hyun wearing a bistro apron and gingerly sprinkling powdered sugar on top of a strawberry tart while talking to Jang Hyuk, who goes to the bakery to pick a cake for his angry wife Jang Na Ra. Cha Tae Hyun proves a multi-tasker as he reprimands Jang Hyuk while carrying out his task.
Cha Tae Hyun owns a bakery in the drama and is well-familiar with the neighbourhood residents and the gossip that goes around in the area.
The second cut shows him looking sideways in the middle of his unfinished task while holding a pinch bowl.
The production crew of Family: The Unbreakable Bond said, "Cha Tae Hyun will transform into a bomber who will hit Jang Hyuk with brutally honest truths, and add pleasant dynamics to the drama with his lovely charm". The further said, "Cha Tae Hyun and Jang Hyuk's real-life friendship shone through in the scene and we got a more interesting scene than expected".
Family: The Unbreakable Bond is a story that revolves around the eccentric couple Kwon Do Hoon (Jang Hyuk) and Kang Yoo Ra (Jang Na Ra), who each have a secret and try to hide them while keeping their family safe and intact.
Apart from Jang Hyuk and Jang Na Ra, Family: The Unbreakable Bond also casts Chae Jung An, Kim Nam Hee, Lee Soon Jae, Kim Kang Min, and Yoon Sang Jung, among others.
