Ji Sung and Jeon Mi Do Put Their Heads Together to Solve a Case in "Connection"
The Genie TV drama Lies Hidden in My Garden is a suspenseful thriller adapted from a bestselling novel of the same name. The story revolves around two women who cross paths and find themselves in the mystery of a mysterious corpse stench emanating from the backyard.
Im Ji Yeon plays the role of Sang Eun, a sufferer of domestic violence yearning to escape from a bleak reality, and Choi Jae Rim is seen as Sang Eun's abusive husband Yoon Beom, and a pharmaceutical salesman who blackmails his business partners with their corrupt practices for financial gain.
The newly unveiled stills give a grim depiction of the abused Sang Eun, her life marred by the scars of domestic violence. Sang Eun's disheveled appearance, gasping for breath as she cowers on the floor, gives a picture of the unendurable barbarity she suffers.
Sang Eun, worn down by Yoon Beom's domineering attitude, evokes sympathy. Even as they sit side by side in the car, Yoon Beom ignores his wife, while she sits lost in contemplation. Her empty expression exudes eerie tranquility, adding an unsettling undertone to the scene. In the last still, she sits beside her husband with a pale face and a slightly questioning expression. The burning question remains: Will Sang Eun find a way to escape the nightmarish reality and the clutches of her abusive husband?
Lies Hidden in My Garden will premiere on June 19.
