Due to an accident, Jang Dong Yoon was injured while filming  his upcoming drama Joseon Exorcist which resulted in a temporary filming hiatus.

News outlets reported that the actor accidentally fell from his horse while filming for the SBS drama in the Damyang South Jeolla Province. The filming was suspended right after the incident occurred. He received emergency treatment at a nearby hospital and a more thorough examination the following day.

On December 30, SBS and his agency Dongyi Company assured fans and revealed the result of his thorough examination.

Thankfully the injury was not serious, only amounting to some bruises on his elbow.  He will be taking some time off to completely recover before filming again. The production team promised to be more careful and to take precautionary measures to prevent the reoccurrence of such accidents. There is no set date on when the drama will start filming again.

SBS will air the fantasy-historical drama "Joseon Exorcist" sometime in 2021 with Jang Dong Yoon as the main lead together with  Park Sung Hoon, Kim Dong Jun, Kam Woo Sung, Lee Yoo Bi, and more.

The story centers around exorcists protecting Joseon from demons trying to reign over the kingdom using human desires.

Shin Kyung Soo, who directed Six Flying Dragons and The Nokdu Flower, will handle "Joseon Exorcist" together with Doctor Prisoner's writer  Park Kye Ok.

Jang Dong Yoon previously starred in Search with female lead Krystal, The Tale Of Nokdu with Kim So Hyun, and "School 2017" as part of the love triangle with Kim Jung Hyung and Kim Se Jeong. He's also considering taking a role in  the upcoming 2021 drama "The Fairy and the Bald Idol".
