According to a report by DongA.com on the 27th, I, a Gangster, Became a High Schooler, is entering the production phase. Previously, news from Newsis had stated, citing anonymous sources, that the drama's production had been canceled. However, the production company Numberthree Pictures mentioned that there have been no changes in the production plans. Currently the cast is actively preparing for filming, and the scheduling for the drama has already been decided for a significant domestic OTT platform. 

Further details of the upcoming K-drama are yet to be announced.

I, a Gangster, Became a High Schooler will tell the story of a gangster who lost his life in a car accident while saving a high school student who was trying to end his life. Later on, he will find himself possessing the body of a high school student. He uses his unique skills to seek revenge and protect those suffering from domestic violence, forming new friendships. The story will base its story on the web novel of the same name by Ho Rol. Actors Yoon Chan Young, Bong Jae Hyun, and Lee Seo Jin are confirmed to star in the drama.

Yoon Chan Young will play the role of Song Yi Heon, a quiet and unassuming 19-year-old high school student who becomes possessed by Kim Deuk Pal, a 47-year-old gangster. 

Bong Jae Hyun, a boy group Golden Child member, will take on the role of Choi Se Kyung, a high-achieving high school student with a hidden sensitive and sharp personality. Lastly, veteran actor Lee Seo Jin will portray the 47-year-old gangster Kim Deuk Pal. 

The drama's broadcasting schedule is expected to be announced within the year and will be available on major domestic OTT platforms.
