Kim Nam Hee's Life Isn't All Sunshine and Rainbows in "Bittersweet Hell"
New character stills from the Disney+ original series Shadow Detective Season 2, featuring Kim Shin Rok and Lee Sung Min, have been unveiled.
In the K-drama, Kim Shin Rok plays the role of Yeon Joo Hyeon, the team leader of the women's juvenile division at Geumohseo. The recently released stills show Joo Hyeon dressed in a martial arts uniform, and her unwavering gaze reflects her determined and shrewd nature.
The distinct personalities of Yeon Joo Hyeon, who prioritizes principles and procedures, and Kim Taek Rok (Lee Sung Min), who brings his unique approach to the world of the juvenile division, spark curiosity about how their ideologies will clash.
Kim Shin Rok commented on her decision to join Shadow Detective Season 2, stating, "When I read the script, I became very curious for what comes next. Above all, it was incredibly appealing to have the opportunity to work closely with senior actor Lee Sung Min, who plays the protagonist, Kim Taek Rok". She also hinted that Yeon Joo Hyeon is a character with many secrets, raising intrigue.

In the previous Season 1, Kim Taek Rok embarked on a relentless chase, pursuing the elusive blackmailer known as 'Friend'.
However, Season 2 takes a refreshing twist as Taek Rok returns not to the powerful crimes division but to the women's juvenile division. This change brings forth a sense of freshness and curiosity, as the seasoned detective, who has spent three decades focused on tackling violent crimes, now finds himself in the world of juvenile criminals.
During his first day at work, Kim Taek Rok encounters an unexpected acquaintance, leading to a moment of bewilderment. It is revealed that Gong Chong Moo (Go Gyu Pil), the manager of the boarding house where Taek Rok resided in Season 1, has been assigned as a rookie policeman in the women's juvenile division. The unique chemistry between these two characters, which was previously showcased through their manager-tenant relationship, now takes on a new dynamic as they meet again as a senior and a junior in the juvenile division.
As the highly anticipated new season approaches, the evident shift in the atmosphere raises expectations and adds to the allure of the series. While Season 1 was primarily focused on unveiling the identity of the blackmailer 'Friend', Season 2 expands on the narrative by delving into the hidden mastermind behind him.
