Netflix reveals cast lineup for the South Korean remake of the popular Spanish series "The Money Heist"


On March 31st, Netflix confirmed and announced its official cast lineup for the South Korean adaptation of the popular Spanish crime series "The Money Heist."

Initially planned to be a limited series, the original Spanish drama "La Casa de Papel" became an instant hit since its first broadcast in May 2017.  The crime thriller drama revolved around a group of people who were assigned to carry out the most perfect robbery in Spanish history.

Actor Yoo Ji Tae will take on the role of a mysterious man known as "The Professor." Park Hae Soo will play the role of the Professor's second-in-command named Berlin. Jeon Jong Seo, who left a strong impression in the recent film "The Call", will be Tokyo, while Lee Won Jong was cast to play as Moscow.

Denver, will be played by Kim Ji Hoon who previously took part in the drama "Flower of Evil." Jang Yoon Joo joins the team as Nairobi. Park Jung Woo will take on the role of Rio. Kim Ji Hoon is cast as Helsinki, and Lee Gyu Ho, famously known as Mr. Gu in the drama series "Dr. Romantic" will portray the role of Oslo.

The rest of the cast include, Kim Yoon Jin as Seon Woo Jin, and Kim Sung Oh will be Captain Cha Mu Hyeok. Whereas, the hostages are set to be Cho Young Min, played by "Parasite's" Park Myung Hoon, and accountant Yun Mi Seon, played by Lee Joo Bin of "She Would Never Know."

The drama adaptation will be helmed by Kim Hong Seon, whose directorial work include, "L.U.C.A.: The Beginning," "Black," and "Warrior Baek Dong Soo." Meanwhile, "My Holo Love," and "Psychopath Diary's" screenwriter Ryu Yong Jae will pen the story. Both director and the writer have previously worked together in the 2014 Korean drama remake of "Liar Game." The production will be a collaboration between BH Entertainment and Contents Ziu. Other broadcasting network and airing dates are yet to be announced.
