"Chief Detective 1958" Climbs Back to Double-Digit Ratings
Netflix unveils a still cut from the upcoming drama Diva of the Deserted Island featuring Park Eun Bin.
The story revolves around a woman who is rescued from a deserted island after mysteriously disappearing 15 years ago.
Mok Ha, a young girl aspiring to become a singer, vanishes when she was in middle school and finds herself stranded on an uninhabited island. She survives in solitude for 15 years. However, for Mok Ha, being rescued from the island is just the beginning of her challenges, as adapting to the complexities of modern society presents an entirely new set of hurdles to overcome.
The Extraordinary Attorney Woo actress Park Eun Bin plays the role of Seo Mok Ha. Cast alongside her are: Kim Hyo Jin playing the role of Yoon Ran Joo, who Mok Ha is a fan of, and was once a top star; Chae Jong Hyeop in the role of Kang Bo Geol, the one who rescues Seo Mok Ha from the island and a PD at YGN's entertainment department; Cha Hak Yeon as Kang Woo Hak, Bo Geol's elder brother and a news reporter at YGN; Kim Joo Heon in the role of Lee Seo Joon, the CEO of RJ Entertainment who was once Ran Joo's manager. In addition, actress Lee Re will be seen as young Seo Mok Ha.
The K-drama is directed by Oh Choong Hwan, the acclaimed director of several hit dramas, including Doctors, While You Were Sleeping, Hotel del Luna, Start-Up, and Big Mouth.
The screenplay is penned by Park Hye Ryun, a star screenwriter with numerous high-rated series under her belt like Dream High, Pinocchio, While You Were Sleeping, and Start-Up.
Diva of the Deserted Island will premiere in the latter half of 2023 on Netflix.
