"The Roundup: Punishment" Surpasses 7 Million Moviegoers
The excitement is building for the upcoming tvN Monday-Tuesday drama Twinkling Watermelon, as it promises a heartwarming story of youth starring actors Ryeoun, Choi Hyun Wook, Seol In Ah, and Shin Eun Soo. In the latest third teaser video, viewers get a glimpse of the intricate relationships among the leading four characters.
Twinkling Watermelon tells the story of a CODA (child of deaf adults) boy, Eun Gyeol (Ryeoun), with a talent for music. One day, he mysteriously finds himself in the year 1995, where he meets his father (a high school student) and forms a band with him and the young people he meets there.
The teaser commences with Eun Gyeol's grandfather (Chun Ho Jin), telling him that CODA means "the one who connects the world of sound and the world of silence". Being the only one in his family who can hear and speak, Eun Gyeol uses language, hands, and music to bridge the communication gap. Even after he travels to 1995, he continues to teach sign language to his hearing-impaired mother, Cheong Ah (Shin Eun Soo), while sharing his love for music with his father, Lee Chan, who could hear in the past but not in the present.
Despite being busy taking care of his family in the present and the past, Eun Gyeol lives in the moment, as suggested by his older brother, Eun Ho (Bong Jae Hyun). His carefree attitude adds a heartwarming touch to the story. As he puts it, "When our sounds connect, the world begins to sparkle again", raising curiosity about the world Eun Gyeol will create when he meets his parents in their youth by traveling back in time.
Additionally, who is living in the moment like Eun Gyeol, catches the eye. Se Kyeong (Seol In Ah), the cello goddess of Seowon High School, is seen smiling brightly with her friends. The teaser even shows her warmly exchanging fist bumps and taking photos with Lee Chan, who has a crush on her.
Not only that, but the diverse dynamics between these four youths, walking side by side in the same school uniform, intrigue the audience. What will happen in the past that Eun Gyeol has traveled to?
