"Sleep," which was officially invited to the Cannes Critics' Week, had its official world premiere at 11 a.m. (local time) on the 21st at the Miramar Theater in Cannes, France.
Before the official screening, director Yoo Jae Sun, along with Jung Yu Mi and Lee Sun Kyun, greeted the audience. Yoo Jae Sun, who made his debut as a director with "Sleep," a film he wrote and directed himself, expressed his overwhelming excitement, saying, "It's my debut film, and it's such an honor to be able to present it on the Cannes stage. It's a great joy and honor to be able to film with these wonderful two actors. I hope you enjoy it."
Jung Yu Mi said, "I'm happy to be at Cannes with director Yoo Jae Sun and actor Lee Sun Kyun for his first film. I hope you enjoy the movie." Lee Sun Kyun expressed his happiness and pride at being able to make his first appearance at Cannes, saying, "I'm so excited and thrilled right now. It's the first time I'm watching a movie together with my family, and I hope the kids enjoy it without being scared and have a great time."

After the tense intro scene, when the opening credits appeared, the audience welcomed the film with applause. "Sleep" depicts the story of a wife uncovering her husband's strange behavior when he commits horrifying acts while asleep.

The mysterious narrative and unpredictable development arising from the seemingly ordinary theme of "Sleep," along with the brilliant chemistry between Jung Yu Mi and Lee Sun Kyun, deeply immersed the audience. As the ending credits rolled, applause filled the theater, and director Yoo Jae Sun, Jung Yu Mi, and Lee Sun Kyun responded with grateful smiles.

Having made its debut at Cannes, "Sleep" is scheduled for release in South Korea in the autumn.
