Jeon Jong Seo receives offer to star in the upcoming K-drama "Genie House"
tvN is considering the succeeding season after Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938.
On June 13, media outlet Dong-A shared that tvN is currently considering the third season of Tale of the Nine-Tailed. According to reports, the production team of the K-drama has asked the actors to join them in the third season and they shared positive responses. According to them, all the actors have great affection for the K-drama and they have expressed their desire to return to a new season.
The first two seasons of Tale of the Nine-Tailed are the creation of directors Kang Shin Hyo and Jo Nam Hyung, and writer Han Woo Ri.
The K-drama was led by Lee Dong Wook, Kim Bum, and Jo Bo Ah in the first season. In the second season of Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938, Kim So Yeon and Ryu Kyung Soo were added as the main leads.
The tvN K-drama was not only loved by its local and international viewers but even the actors themselves were very vocal about their affection for the series. The main leads of two seasons Lee Dong Wook and Kim Bum were also seen crying on their last filming for the K-drama.
Many are hopeful that there will be a third season of the popular fantasy K-drama.
For the first season, it focused on the romance between Lee Dong Wook's character Lee Yeon and Jo Bo Ah's character Nam Ji Ah in the modern era. It also showcased the conflict between the Gumiho brothers Lee Dong Wook and Kim Bum (Lee Rang). The first season aired in 2020 and it achieved the highest viewer rating of 5.807%.
The second season which is titled Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 recently ended and achieved the highest viewer rating of 8.024%. In this new season, it showcased the journey of Lee Yeon who entered the era of 1938. It also revealed his friendship and conflict with new characters Ryu Hong Joo (Kim So Yeon) and Cheon Moo Young (Ryu Kyung Soo). Lee Yeon also got to reunite with his brother Lee Rang once again.
In the finale episode of Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938, a scene hinted that there's a possibility of a third season. There was a scene wherein Lee Yeon has time-traveled to another era which is the Joseon Dynasty.
