The production team of ENA's new Wednesday-Thursday drama The Day of the Kidnapping (directed by Park Yoo Young and written by Kim Je Young) revealed character posters, sparking curiosity about the stories of the four individuals entwined in a single incident.

Based on a famous novel of the same name, The Day of the Kidnapping is a dark comedy that portrays the unusual relationship between an inept kidnapper, Kim Myung Joon (played by Yoon Kye Sang), and an 11-year-old genius girl, Choi Ro Hee (played by Yu Na). The pursuit of truth by the slightly deficient and clumsy kidnapper, and the sharp-witted and chic young girl provides a different kind of entertainment.

In the character posters released by the production team, Kim Myung Joon, Park Sang Yoon (played by Park Sung Hoon), Choi Ro Hee, and Seo Hye Eun (played by Kim Shin Rok) each gives off a unique aura, appearing in a style that looks like a kidnapping case news bulletin, hinting at their relationships.

Firstly, Yoon Kye Sang's smile seamlessly blends into the character of an inept kidnapper, Kim Myung Joon. His affectionate promise, "I'll protect you... for sure," towards Choi Ro Hee, conveys a tender and unique bond between them. Kim Myung Joon's dynamic journey, unexpectedly entangled in the kidnapping due to planning it to cover for his daughter's medical expenses, builds anticipation.

Park Sung Hoon, in the role of detective Park Sang Yoon, who pursues the truth, adds tension to the drama. Possessing quick judgment and cold analytical abilities, he follows Kim Myung Joon's kidnapping case, diving into secrets. His fiery determination to solve the issue can be felt in his intense gaze as he looks at the monitor, accompanied by the phrase, "I have to find out... What exactly is his motive?"

Yu Na's composed yet sad gaze also captivates attention. Playing the genius girl Choi Ro Hee, who belongs to the top 0.01%, she meets Kim Myung Joon and immediately loses her memory. Her calm personality and extraordinary intelligence, not typical of a child, always shine brightly in times of crisis. Her cynical tone, "Who's worried about whom? In the face of a kidnapper," reveals Choi Ro Hee's sincerity and trust in Kim Myung Joon. The cheerful and whimsical teamwork between the two mismatched individuals is eagerly anticipated. Additionally, the pursuit of truth by Kim Myung Joon and his "One Team," as well as the hidden story behind Choi Ro Hee, sparks curiosity.

Kim Shin Rok, who portrays Seo Hye Eun, the mastermind behind the kidnapping, emits an overwhelming atmosphere. The enigmatic Seo Hye Eun is one of the characters veiled in mystery. She suddenly left Kim Myung Joon and his daughter's side and returned, proposing the kidnapping of Choi Ro Hee. Concealing her secrets beneath her calm poker face, the enigma of Seo Hye Eun is questionable. Her thought-provoking statement, "Does it seem like only bad people receive punishment?" adds to the mystery.

The production team stated, "Viewers won't be able to help but be absorbed in the story, from laughter and emotion to thrilling reversals. Watch the actors' overwhelming performances as they depict various narratives, including the central kidnapping case." The drama The Day of the Kidnapping premiered on September 13th at 9 PM KST.
