The production team of the upcoming K-drama 7 Escape unveiled character stills featuring the one and only Uhm Ki Joon, who played the iconic villain Joo Dan Tae in The Penthouse series.

In the soon-to-be-released thriller series 7 Escape, he comes to play the architect of retribution, Matthew Lee. Expectations are soaring for Uhm Ki Joon as he portrays a character distinct from his previous roles.

7 Escape is a revenge drama centered around seven people entangled in the disappearance of a girl, intertwined with numerous lies and desires. Screenwriter Kim Soon Ok - known for the hit dramas The Last Empress and The Penthouse: War in Life series - and The Penthouse director Joo Dong Min, are joining hands again to bring another sensational series.

In the K-drama, Matthew Lee is the CEO of Tiki Taka, the largest mobile platform company in South Korea. The stills portray his confidence and charisma, which he effortlessly carries. His identity has largely remained shrouded in mystery despite rampant rumors.

Caught in a web of lies and desires, a girl disappears, following which Matthew Lee reveals himself to the world. His goal: to orchestrate a survival game to bring down the seven villains. Matthew Lee's chilling expression as he gazes into the distance leaves us curious about the cold and ruthless revenge he has in store. The ties that bind him and the seven villains become a tantalizing mystery, leaving us wondering about the brutal survival game that lies ahead.

Actor Uhm Ki Joon commented on the reason for choosing the role, stating, "I'm really happy to be able to work on another project with screenwriter Kim Soon Ok and director Joo Dong Min. I liked the character Matthew Lee, who is completely different from Ju Dan Tae of Penthouse".

Furthermore, he said, "I play the role of Matthew Lee, the CEO of Tiki Taka, who seeks to bring down the seven villains. This role is completely different from the character embodying pure evil I portrayed in my previous work, so I paid a lot of attention to this aspect".

Mark your calendars for the release of 7 Escape on September 15th.
