The 2022 K-drama Bargain starring Jin Seon Kyu, Jeon Jong Seo, and Chang Ryul is invited to another film festival abroad!

On August 15th, TVING announced that the award-winning thriller crime K-drama Bargain was officially invited to the primetime section of the 48th Toronto International Film Festival that will be held on September 7th to 17th of this year. It is one of the world's four major international film festivals along with the Cannes, Berlin, and Venice International Film Festivals. The primetime section showcases new creators by highlighting their new works. 

This is not the first time that Bargain was recognized by the international scene. The K-drama also won awards at the Cannes International Series Festival Screenplay Award and German Series and Drama Festival Siriencamp Critics Award. 

Climax Studio, the production company of the K-drama shared, "We are happy to be able to showcase great actors, directors, and writers to the big market at the Toronto International Film Festival before revealing it to a worldwide audience through Paramount+. It will be a meaningful one to be able to show off the charm and capabilities of Korean producers. We are excited to meet new audiences through this K-drama."

Bargain is set to be released in 27 countries including the United States, Canada, the UK, and Australia through the OTT platform Paramount+ on October 5th. The K-drama was first revealed on October 28th through the Korean OTT platform TVING. 

Bargain revolves around a man who wanted to pay for the services of a young attractive woman. He went to a motel room to avail of her services but when he arrived, he was the one who got surprised. He was surrounded by people who come to buy his organs and the woman is the one conducting the auction. To their surprise, a major earthquake strikes and they are tucked in the collapsed building where ransom negotiations took place. The story was based on the short film of the same name. 

The K-drama is led by Jin Seon Kyu, Jeon Jong Seo, Chang Ryul, Kang Gil Woo, Park Hyung Soo, and Shin Jae Hwi.

It is the collaboration work of director Jeon Woo Sung (Strongest Deliveryman, The Promise, and Ohlala Couple) and screenwriter  Kwak Jae Min (Amanza).
