As this question may come up again in the future, here's a link to the novel in the original Chinese:

https://www.99csw.com/book/5044/index.htm

There are only 11 chapters, so may be manageable for a  quick machine translation...

plz share the link of Translator if someone decides, or already doing its translation ^^,

I need too

I'm working on it... but I'm not that fast.

From what I've read so far, the novel seems to be very different from the drama version.

Thank you so muchhhh please take you time

There is no rush ?

you're the bests! ^^
Thanks! :*

First two chapters of the novel are ready. You can read them here https://deidreswords.wordpress.com/

You will see that the novel is VERY different from the drama version.

PS: there is a very obvious spelling mistake in the site name - it's a deliberate variation for a free domain ?

Edit: updated link to show table of content

I finally worked out why the translation that I'm doing has a so little similarity with the drama version. There are in total three novels by this author that are entitled The Evil Hypnotist 1 - 2 and 3.

The screenwriters have taken elements from all three of them and mixed them together in their script.

The detective Luo Fei is the protagonist in all three volumes.

The "zombie" case is from the 1st volume, where Ling Mingding is the hypnotist helping Luo Fei. He disappears at the end of the 1st volume.

Most of the cases that we see in the drama (based on the theme of the seven mortal sins and inspired by the film Se7en) come from the 2nd volume. Here Xiao XiFeng is the hypnotist working with Luo Fei.

Lu FengPing only makes an appearance in the 3rd volume which also has the case of the girls from the orphanage.

Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuu ???????

The translation of the first volume of the novel is now complete. As I mentioned before, it is very different from the drama version which uses elements of the three volumes of the novel (which probably explains why there is a noticeable disconnection between the various plot line).

The villain and his motivation (which is different from the one in the drama) is definitely much better in the novel version.

Are you planning on translating the other two novels as well? Also thank you so much for the translation for the first novel! You did great.

Thank you for your kind words. I’m thinking about it… I’ve started with the 2nd book, but I want to be sure that I can finish it before I start posting any chapters. I hate it when people get you into a novel and then drop it mid-way.

Maybe I just publish the prologue to see if there is any interest…

The second book starts off with the murder in the bathtub that was also in the drama.

Here’s a link to the Prologue of the 2nd book:
