Editing a custom list

How can I change the order in one of my custom list from "author's order", to "alphabetical "? Pls help. I tried but then it turns back to author's order. What am I doing wrong?

Which one? If me just try to click save and after that looked again. If on the edit page it's always gonna show author's order
