We started a conversation on this question - what makes a love story compelling for you? - over in the BL Drama Lovers thread but it was quickly swamped by other topics in that one-stop-shop of a thread. I'm restarting it in the Thai Drama section in hopes of drawing in fans of Thai drama more broadly.

(Link to that part of the thread, mostly so those who replied can find theirs quickly)

I don't do well with a lot of angst so compelling for me is mostly about how believeable I find their relationship rather than high-stakes jeopardy. Slow burn romances with strongly developing friendships are often better for me that way and any sort of coercion or harassment will nope me right out. It might be able to pull me back if that doesn't continue but I'll be wary.

A developing friendship/relationship well-situated in the context of both their lives is my favourite.

So, open question - what makes a compelling love story for you?
