editSynopsis

Yang Eun-bi is a university student preparing for her civil service exam with the dream of being a high school teacher. She accidentally encounters Cha Chi-soo, the arrogant son of the biggest food conglomerate in Korea. Cha Chi-soo fascinates women with his good looks and charm. Eun-bi is attracted to him before she finds out that he is only a high school student and thus several years younger than her. However, her student-teaching assignment finds her not only working at the high school that Cha's family owns, but teaching his homeroom class. She grows to dislike him for his arrogance and lack of empathy. He, on the other hand, becomes fascinated with her because she is tough and athletic, unlike the other women he knows.

I only started watching this because a friend of mine was watching. I initially thought the whole thing would be too silly for me, but I was hooked after the first episode. I absolutely loved the chemistry between Jung Il Woo, and Lee Chung Ah, and I felt ashamed for rooting for them. I can't say enough good things about Jung Il Woo in this. He took a cliché character, and brought some depth & charm to the role. Lee Ki Woo was also incredibly sweet in his role, and I developed a little crush on him while watching.

The story is pretty standard, but the cast took a predictable scenario and made it fun to watch. There are many KDramas with similar love triangles, but

A very youthful, lighthearted romantic comedy, with minimum melodrama and lots of laughs!

Even though Jung Il Woo is pretty much the star of the show, he is well and truly part of a tightknit ensemble cast that have great chemistry together. Each character of the ensemble have their own quirky personality traits, and their own obstacles (personal or otherwise) to overcome as the show progresses.

The Ramyun Shop is used very effectively as the one thing that holds all of them together. Truly a family away from real family.

Does anyone know the korean name of the yellow radish which is made in the Flower Boy Ramyun Shop? And which spice do they use to make it yellow? Turmeric? Curry?
    • nekopaw 11 days ago
I got my answer. For anyone who is curious about this: it is called Danmuji (sweet radish pickle) and they use turmeric or dried gardenia fruit for colouring.

This was a surprisingly enjoyable watch. Everything about this drama should annoy me, but yet it didn't as much as I thought it would. I guess what mood you're in while watching really has a lot to say.

    8/10 for me.

It a very childish drama, about an easy girl between two guys... the story is nice but comon I felt like I'm watching a 12 year old girls movie euogh, I hate it!
The actors are really awsome but something was missing! a big something. Anyways I don't reccomend you guys to watch it.

I agree! It's not often you see characters in dramas take a dump ... it almost seems like a taboo thing, doesn't it? xD
    • neaa Mar 3, 2013
yes.. and for once you can have guys doing that.. but that girl totally sold it here... she was constipated all throughout

    • Keiyaku Mar 3, 2013
Yeah she was ... is it a common problem they have in South Corea, constipation? Is it because they're stressed alot there? :/
    • neaa Mar 3, 2013
hahaha!! i don't think that would be a case!! lols!!! they just exaggerated it.. or actually showed it.. others keep their toilet affairs in their toilets!
    • Keiyaku Mar 10, 2013
They're quite good att exaggerating things in Korean dramas, they are all so emotional for example ... xD
    • neaa Mar 10, 2013
being a fan i shouldn't say but at times they are!!
    • Keiyaku Mar 11, 2013
But that's one of the reasons Korean dramas are entertaining to watch! ^^
    • neaa Mar 11, 2013
paradox!! no matter how exaggerated.. we never give up .. do we?
