He officially debuted in 2010 as a member of TOUCH with their 1st single "Me". However, the group was not successful in their debut and the agency decided to make changes to the lineup, so, less than a year after debuting, he parted ways with YYJ and left TOUCH as a result.
After moving companies, he re-debuted in 2013 as BOYS REPUBLIC's lead vocalist with their 1st single "Party Rock". This time around, the group had a successful debut charting #1 in several Asian countries and even earning the endorsement of Jeju Air. Universal Music Group began scheduling concerts and presentations around the continent and they steadily built a loyal fanbase throughout Asia with tours in Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Japan and even expanding to Europe with a tour in 2015.
The following year, the group faced some controversy when the MV of the song "Get Down" included sexy and provocative scenes and blood splatting battle scenes which were a homage to the movie "Mad Max". The Korean censorship rated the video 19+ so it could not be aired in public TV. The group had to film a second version of the song in order to be able to promote in all music shows without being banned. In 2017, he entered (alongside all his groupmates) the survival show "The Uni.T" but was eliminated in the earlier rounds.
In September 2018, the agency announced that it had reach an agreement with all the members and after a concert on September 30, they went on an indefinite hiatus, a move that surprised many fans as they had enjoyed some success in the past 5 years.
While the group has never announced an official disbandment, he enlisted for his mandatory military service in mid-2019 and now seems to be out of the entertainment industry.
