Chigiri Kosai was a Japanese radio scriptwriter, playwright, novelist, and folklorist born in Kure, Hiroshima, Japan. He studied under Kubota Bantaro.

After the war, he became a writer exclusively for NHK. He also conducted research on demons, tengu, hermits, and other supernatural phenomena.
