At the age of 4, his father passed away, and he moved to Tokyo with his mother. After a brief return to Hakodate, they moved back to Tokyo. In January 1930, shortly after turning 6, he joined the Shochiku Kamata Studios as a child actor. In April of the same year, he enrolled in the Kamata Elementary School and made his debut in the film industry with "Chichi".
At the age of 11, in 1935, he transferred to the Shinko Kinema Tokyo Studios.
As the world entered World War II, his whereabouts afterward remained unknown, but it was revealed in 2020 that after serving in Hanoi, he returned home and worked for a steel company before passing away at the age of 83 in 2005.
