Luan Yuan Hui (English name: Max) is a Chinese actor and director, born to a literary and artistic family in Mudanjiang of Heilongjiang Province. His father was a TV director and his mother, an actress with the Mudanjiang Peking Opera Troupe. Influenced by his family atmosphere, he began imitating the "Little Tigers" at elementary age and loved performing.

Graduated from the department of directing of Central Academy of Drama, his directing career kicked off in 2003 with the drama "My Sassy Girl". In 2005, he served as the executive director of the military drama "Stone Breaking in the Sky".
