She made her official debut in 2005 as part of the girl group KISFIVE with their 1st single album "First Kiss". Unfortunately, the agency mismanaged the group and it disbanded less than 6 months later. In 2009, she re-debuted as an original member of AFTER SCHOOL with their 1st single album, "New Schoolgirl". She was part of all activities and became the leader when Kahi graduated from the group in 2012. In late 2015, Pledis Entertainment stopped promoting the group and faced severe criticism of their mishandling of girl groups. She decided to graduate in 2016 and ventured into other activities.
In 2018, she married basketball player Jung Chang Young and the couple has 2 children. In 2021, she reunited with 4 other After School members in a special show created by Jae Jae which aired on KBS and YouTube bringing back groups people wanted to see again. She rarely appears on TV these days.
