South Korean ssireum wrestler. He graduated from Gongju Life Science High School and then attended Kyonggi University. He belongs to the Suwon City Hall Ssireum Team in the Geumgang class (-90kg). When he was young, he was usually compared the king of ssireum, Lee Man-gi. Some years later, Lee Man-gi himself called Im Tae-hyeok a "complete player" and called him a better player than himself.
