Pee in your pants – For REAL laugh out loud comedy!!!

I had no idea what this drama was going to be about, I just knew it had Kwak Dong Yeon and I loved him in Young Actor’s Retreat and Love in the moonlight. This was the PERFECT comedy to watch right before bed, because it will put a MAJOR smile on your face.

It reminded me a lot of the American show The Office, just a lot of awkward humor, physical comedy and a touch of romance. I love that the show wasn’t too serious and it was just about a rag-tag marketing team.

The show was mainly about two story lines (for me). It was about the main-lead’s love/hate relationship and the secondary couple (the babies I call them).

I REALLY loved the secondary couple, especially, Bae Hyun Sung (or I like to call him, mini-Bo Gum, BHS looks exactly the younger version of him!). BHS is so good in Our Blues and Dear M. I really want to watch him in a ML role. I LOVE his little hair flip too, the costume and hair and make-up team were very good to add that in.

At 45 minutes an episode and only 12 episodes, it’s a very easy drama to watch. The humor is over-the-top funny, I mean, you will laugh so hard, your cheeks and belly will hurt. I enjoy watching all the characters running around with their heads cut off. It was just, like I say again, FUNNY!

I recommend anyone who wants to be happy while watching this drama to start this one.

A SUPER tortuous love

Everyone loves this drama and everyone has seen it several times. If you are looking for a review that is lower and is curious to why, well, I’ll tell you my thoughts and feelings and why to me it wasn’t a 10 star drama.

Did I like One and Only? Yes, it was good. Did I love it like everyone else? No. And here’s why.

First off, I love Bai Lu, even though she’s fairly young, she looks and acts older. I like that the dramas she picks are usually romantic, sweet and very funny. One and Only is a melodrama and when I first watched it, I didn’t know that.

Allen Ren dramas are hit or miss for me. I love some of them (Under the Power) and some of them were tough to watch (Miss Crow and Mr. Lizard). Usually I have a problem with his fake kissing, but he doesn’t do that anymore (not that it has any relevance to this drama). It’s just something I associate with his character.

The casting was 100% point in this drama. I agree with the other reviewers that Bai Lu and Allen Ren really brought their A game. If you want to watch an epic love, then this is it.

Now, I went into this drama, not knowing anything and maybe that is my problem. I think I was in the mindset for a very typical C drama (even if it’s a melodrama). I have my C melodrama expectations and to my surprise, I didn’t get what I usually get. Was this good or bad? I’m not sure. It was different.

What makes everyone love this drama so much and maybe that’s where I started to fall apart, was the tortuous love between the leads. It’s a very simple concept. Two people who have a very strong relationship, but can never be together. That is a very common storyline for many C dramas, but in One and Only, I felt like this issue was just amplified.

You feel the tortuous love between the two and a simple thing, like a glance can make your heart beat a million miles or wreck your insides (depending on how the glance is taken). It’s a SUPER slow burn romance and it’s super focused on feelings.

You have to go into the drama in the right mind set. It’s a slow burn. It’s a complex love. It’s a super melodrama amplified. You will be left with overwhelming feelings when you finish the drama.

Overall, I totally understand and respect why everyone loved this drama so much. For me, I found it somewhat painful and uncomfortable to go through. I think I am glad I watched it so I could appreciate the actors and the storyline, but I wouldn’t say I enjoyed watching the drama.

Can you fall in love with someone who you can only see one hour a day?

Time travel dramas are tricky to watch, but this one was pretty good, in regard towards answering questions and ending loop holes.

The premise of the drama is the FL and the ML are from two different time lines. There’s only a 4 month difference in time, but it’s impactful enough to know these characters don’t belong in the same period.

I liked the casting, even though the FL is 8 years younger than the ML, she acts and looks older. I hope they did use her real voice and just pitched it high in recording because in the behind the scene footage, it was deeper. The main leads have great chemistry and it’s no wonder the whole drama is focused on them.

I do like having a secondary couple to grasp and even though there was a secondary couple, there wasn’t enough screen time to really warrant their own story. The secondary couple’s storyline was the plot device to the main couple’s focus. So you kind of knew how the secondary couple would end up because, duh, we see it in the future.

At times the drama does drag here and there and it feels like some conversations are repetitive or lengthy. I mainly wanted to focus on the main couple. The FL was REALLY annoying in the first few episodes and I was questioning if I was going to like her character, but eventually she became endearing and 100% grew on me!

The main plot to the entire series is basically, can I change the future? So the main leads try different things to try to change it. I loved that they worked together and as they did, they started to form an attachment. It was very organic and romantic. You really do get the feels for the couple.

I questioned how they would wrap up the two different time lines and to my surprise it was wrapped up very neatly. Overall, there are some ups and downs to the drama, but more ups than downs. Watch it for the main leads.

Best Variety show ever!

Do you want to watch a variety show with your top favorite actors and actress? Oh and laugh your butt off on top of that? I had NO IDEA on how funny and amazing this show was going to be.

I already love my favorite stars, but after watching this show, I love them even more.

I've seen Park See Joon in Yoon's Kitchen and that's when I fell in love with is humble personality (off camera), it was so contrasting to the characters he plays in his drama. In Young Actor's Retreat, he just seems like a humble, laid back guy.

I haven't seen Park Bo Gum in any reality show and it was so wild to see him interacting with people normally. He's 100% adorable and I love his facial expression. I am simply amazed the production team could line up so many A list actors in the same 3 day period.

Even though the show was shot over 3 days, I seriously was okay with the 8 episodes. It was so funny and I loved all the games they played. Oh and little Hang In Yeop was the little break out actor. I loved him in True Beauty, but he was so hilarious in this! He's such a shy and adorable person!

What a treat!

Just a tip: Be sure to watch Itaewon Class, Love in the Moonlight and Sound of Magic before you start the show. So you have a history of all the cast members.

Fast Fluff

I LOVE fluffy dramas and as much as I expected to love this drama, it was okay. It wasn't bad, but it didn't give me super feels. It was a little boring, which surprises me because I love boring slow dramas.

The cast are BABIES!!! and that's okay, but when production casts a 21 year old to play a doctor, I question ... if it's good to cast someone pretty for the role, rather someone who can perform the role. I get it's a web drama and the budget is lower, but as much as I love watching a pretty man act, he couldn't pull off the doctor role, his baby face couldn't convince me.

However, the CAST is VERY pretty, from the main couple to the second couple. If you put any of them together, they really make watching enjoyable with their flawless, collagen-filled faces. I also love the wardrobe. It was trendy and modern.

If you like fluffy C dramas, rom-coms, then this is pretty much for you. It's easy, fast and entertaining.

Horrible Characters

The drama started out interesting. I will admit, I do like lighter dramas and with low angst, but if it’s done right, I can get into a Melodrama. One of my favorite, slow pace melodrama is My Liberation Notes, so I went into My Unfamiliar family with an open mind.

The first 7 episodes was interesting, but then I started to realize, the theme and pacing of the drama wasn’t for me. There was a lot of issues I had.

The drama is about a family, Mom and Dad with Older Sister, Middle sister and younger brother. Each person is neither good nor bad. Everyone has flaws and as much as I like a complicated character, I needed SOMETHING to root for, but I didn’t have that.

The pacing was VERY slow. Everyone talked in circles and you really wanted to get to the root of the problem, but it too forever to have it come out to the open.

The drama would convey / portray a certain message they wanted you think and feel, but when it’s finally reveled, it’s not what you think. Everything about the show is about perspective and that really annoyed me. Like getting mad at someone for doing something, but holding it in for YEARS and finally letting it out. Well, they didn’t have fun doing that thing you got mad at them for. It just seemed very contrived and frustrating.

A LOT of problems could have been resolved if they just Communicated. Yup, just talk it out!

Each episode ended on a cliff-hanger ending, which is how typical dramas are done, however, you never know if it was a REAL cliff-hanger ending or it was just something they showed but changed it to something else on the next episode. That really annoyed me too.

It’s trying too hard to force emotions on the audience.

The storylines at some point got kind of predictable and once I figured out what was going on, it was hard to grasp my interests.

Like I said, I didn’t like any character.

The father seemed too abusive and they always portrayed him as horrible, but like I said, the drama isn’t about good or bad characters, it’s all about perspective.

The older sister seems really endearing, but she says some REALLY mean stuff to the younger sister and that’s when I started to stop caring for her.

The younger sister is probably the worst character ever written. I hated how immature and wishy-washy she was. I couldn’t stand her at all.

Overall, I probably should have stopped watching after the 7th episode, but I wanted to finish the drama. I usually like to end on a high note, but I can’t think of anything I liked in this drama. Maybe the hairstyles? I liked that.

More comedy and slight melodrama, than “rom”-com to be honest.

I only picked up this drama because I love Kim Se Jeong in Business Proposal and Busted, she was really humble and kind and cute in that reality show. We all know she can act, based on her performance on Uncanny Counter too.

When I first started the drama, it was really funny, light and exactly what I was looking for. I wasn’t sure if there was going to be a full blown romance, but I didn’t really care. I personally read manga, manhwa and Webtoon comics, so the storyline really interested me.

I enjoyed the rag-tag cast, I enjoyed the eccentric artist, especially Im Chul Soo from It’s okay to be Not okay. So yeah, with ALL THAT SAID, there was something about this drama that I just couldn’t 100% connect once it got deeper into the issues / drama.

1.) The MAIN storyline of the group / department wouldn’t last one year if they couldn’t turn it around, was a very dragged out storyline. Within the first 20 mins of the show we realized this is the storyline and it was the MAIN storyline that you will hear OVER AND OVER again. This was very frustrating and I just wanted to look at the other characters.

2.) There wasn’t a romantic storyline, which would have been fine, but it was odd to see one kind of thrown in there last minute and the writers tried to peek your interest by making you question who would be the guy. I wouldn’t even call this a love triangle because the main FL was unaware to everything. Besides some glances here and there, they really could have cut that whole part out.

3.) I enjoyed that the artists had their own issues and problems, but again, once they had a problem and it was solved, they kept on coming back with additional problems. It took me awhile to figure out they were part of the cast, but I think it would have been better to have more artists come or have different issues outside of them. It was just very repetitive.

4.) FL wardrobe! So, they cut her beautiful hair and I was fine with that, she actually looked cute with a bob, but why in the world did they dress her like Dora the Explorer with those oversized baggy pants with a dress shirt and doc martins? She looked utterly ridiculous and off putting. Just a BIG NO wardrobe people.

The drama was different in the sense it focused on comics, but it was very political, highly repetitive, dragged-out and the romantic side was non-existent. It’s good if you like the casting and are into political dramas, because even though it’s based on comics, it’s really about corporations. So, you could have inserted any kind of corporation into the storyline.

A cutesy rom-com drama

If you are looking for a fun, rom-com drama, enemies to lovers romance, then this one will pretty much check all the boxes for you.

A lot of people probably will start the drama because of Ding Yu Xi and personally, he is hit or miss for me. I thought he was fine in The Romance of Tiger and Lilly, I liked him in Intense Love, but he was okay in Moonlight. I think it’s because his stature is really feminine and small and so it’s hard to see him in a domineering ML role, but I know it’s a C-drama cultural thing.

This drama has mixed reviews depending on where you look. If you look at the Viki site, it’s a little lower, but if you look at MDL then it’s higher, so I guess it depends on what type of drama you are looking for.

This is a 100% You-have-to-be-in-the-mood-kind-or-drama.

You won’t get much substance, but pretty actors and cutesy rom-com troupes and that’s okay. Sometimes you just need to zone out and watch some rom-com C drama angst. The ML can be funny or annoying to watch depending on what kind of viewer you are.

Some found it problematic when the ML was being kind of mean to the FL in the beginning, again a very typical C drama troupe, but sometimes it can be a little over the top.

I overall thought the drama was okay and I liked it. I did fast forward here and there depending on how frustrating or over the top storyline was, but I did have a smile on my face for the cute scenes.

So, if you want to zone out or are a fan of the actors, it’s a good one to watch.

Slice of Life, Doctors, Bromace kind of drama.

I say "Slice if Life" because of the pacing of the drama. First off, I didn't know who Rain was until I watched The Hungry and The Hairy, it is a reality show and I fell in love with his approachable personality. He's also very good as the best guy friend so this role was made for him.

I can see why everyone likes Kim Bum, he has an adorable face and his acting is top notch. I actually thought he out-shined Rain on his performance in this drama.

The summary and pictures are right, this is a bromance drama with little romance. I knew that coming in. I'm a rom-com addict, so I had to shift gears watching this drama. I will admit, it started out strong for me.

The costumes were on point. I SUPER loved Sung Dong wardrobe. For a guy who is in his mid fifties, he was the best dressed. I really enjoyed all the pant suits and oversized sweaters.

The casting was good and it was nice to seen new faces I am not use to. I felt like for me, I didn't like the pacing of the show too much. I liked the beginning and ending, but towards the middle it dragged a little.

I wanted to see more side stories and I felt like a lot of the scenes were contrived to fit the narrative the script writer was trying to convey. Sometimes it's dangerous to do this one thing, unless they wanted to do that thing for comical purposes, then it's okay.

Or you have a super intense scene and then the tension is cut with a comical scene, but it just seemed a little awkward and cringy in my opinion.

A lot of people loved this drama and it does have heart and warm feelings. I guess I just wanted better pacing and more organized and less contrived situations.

6 College Kids, 3 couples, plenty of angst and drama

I picked up this drama because of the high rating (at least on Viki) and I can see where the fuss came from. It's a very cute super cheesy rom-com college drama. I'm usually not a huge fan of college age dramas because of the young cast, but you can't help but cheer on for the couples while you watch Dear M.

A lot of people love the ML, Jeong Jae Hyun and I can see why. He's very handsome to watch and his voice is raspy cool. But light should be shine on the FL lead too, I enjoyed Park Hey very bubbly personality and high pitch voice.

Probably the best part of this drama is that it's mainly about two couples and a little bit of camera time for the third couple. Each drama will face its own dramas and if you like push and pull relationships then this one is for you.

I had a problem with the angst level. I felt like every time you thought the couple would get together or figure it out, something external would happen and it would be back to square one. Some people like that kind of drama, I find it very frustrating.

I also had a huge problem with the FL's wardrobe! I know she is poor and the girl next door / best friend kind of character, but did you have to make her look so frumpy? The second couple dressed so cute so I know there is a budget of cute outfits or at least clothes that fit her.

Overall, it's a drama with young, pretty characters that go through intense up and down emotions because of the relationships with the people they care about it.

Started with Angst but finished pretty well

I picked up this drama because my sister said it was good and it had high ratings. I haven’t seen a drama with Park Hae Jin since Cheese in the Trap (still a fan) and I forgot how much I loved him.

I will admit the first 4ish episodes were hard for me to get through. You really had to go through the hardships and angst between the main leads. I know this an enemy to friends to lovers relationship but wow, they really put you through a lot between them.

What I liked most about the drama is cute banter and hilarious comedy. Some physical comedy can come off as awkward or forced but I laughed pretty hard at a lot of moments in this one. I also liked that they kept that tone throughout the series. I’m not a fan when dramas kind of drop the comedy mid-way through.

This is a first drama for me with a magical element with cop duo and I probably wouldn’t have picked it up if it wasn’t for the recommendation. To my surprise it all worked out. The chemistry between the leads was fairly good. I thought the FL cried a bit too much for my taste, but her tears were really good!

I liked the soundtrack and overall the story flowed for me. I liked the side stories and the back stories, if anything the drama really knows how to develop its characters.

Overall, not a bad drama to pass the time.

Love the leads!

I 100% watched this drama for the cast. I'm a mega fan of Liang Jie and I loved they used her own voice. I can listen to her all day. Her acting is adorable and she really owned up to this drama. I felt like she went out side of her usual character and to have her play as a male, was very awesome.

I was a fan of Zhang Xin Cheng from Go ahead, but I felt like In the day of becoming you, he really showed he can be main lead character. I liked that he was masculine and his acting as a female was hilarious.

This is my first switching the body drama so to me it was really refreshing, funny and cute. The chemistry between the main leads is really good and that's probably because they are seasoned actors. Like the other reviewers stated, it has some steamy moments and very different from your shy typical C dramas.

If you are looking for a more modern C drama or love the actors like me, you won't be disappointed in this one.

Actions speak louder than words

It might be obvious for some, but for me, I had no idea who the male lead was and to my surprise, it was a good torture.

For the budget this drama had, I appreciate the sets and costume. I really loved the FL’s costumes, they were light and airy and the colors were beautiful. The CGI wasn’t to par and a lot of the sets were old, but they did brighten it up with vibrant colors and new paint trim.

I love me a good love triangle and I love a triangle where you don’t really know who you are rooting for. Zhao Lu Si is the FL and she is very pretty and bubbly to look at. Her face is so youthful and her expressions are adorable. She was the perfecting casting, even though she’s only 23.

This is my first drama with Li Hong Yi (brother) and June Wu (the crush). I personally wasn’t fond of Qiu Yi’s (the brother) look. It was very feminine and flowy, but I guess they went that route because he’s the leader of the demon sect and the white costume he wore mostly contrast his “evil” deeds. I also didn’t like Xiao Bai’s (the crush) look either. His wig was probably the most horrible wig I’ve seen for a main cast person. You can 100% see the net lining, the costume people dropped the ball on that. I’m glad Qiu Yi’s had a long wig and there was no net lining. Also, as an American, I noticed A LOT of dramas with the name Xiao Bai, is this like a hot name or something? It’s a cute name, but I’m just curious to why it’s so popular.

Anyhow, casting was spot on. I love Li Hong Yi’s expression and persona he created for his character. He pulled off the elegant, but evil person down. The chemistry between him and the FL was very good. Now, as for June Wu, maybe it’s his character, but his expressions where lacking and he just seemed very emotionless and I was underwhelmed. I couldn’t really see his love for the FL and yes, he’s pretty to look at, but his wig (and I know it’s not this fault) completely turned me off. Maybe they did that on purpose, I don’t know.

The push and pull throughout the drama was pretty addicting to watch, once you got into the heart of the story. I had to get past the first few episodes where the FL was falling all over the crush, because it was just a little over the top silly for me, but ONCE you get into the deeper part of the story, it really takes off.

The best part of the drama for me was when they started to build up the relationship and characters between the FL and both guys. You got each person’s POV and that’s when I was trying to figure out who she would end up with.

Like most C dramas, they extend the story a touch too long and the last eight episodes got dramatic, over the top and misunderstandings start to unfold. You got the push away storyline and that’s just pretty much typical right? Once I got past all of that again, I was left satisfied finishing.

SUPER cute C drama, kind of the point of Rom-Coms

Call all Seventeen fans! I'm into K-pop and when I realized Jun from Seventeen would be in a C-drama, I didn't care what drama it would be, I would watch it.

Miaoyi is super cute and I totally fell in love with her in When I Fly towards you, so I was pretty excited for this pairing. I want to say Miaoyi totally carried the show. Jun is good I candy, but his dubbing needs a touch more practice (not sure if they used his own voice, I want to say yes?). I appreciate Jun's acting ability, because he's not really a professional actor, so it was pretty good, but with a few more dramas, I believe he can be great in no time.

The rom-com is totally adorable and cute. It's EVERYTHING you want in a C drama. Very cheesy moments, a lot of tension and very low angst. I kind of wished the episodes weren't so short at 30mins, I pretty much finished the drama in no time. The drama is my favorite kind of youth drama, it starts out with the characters in high school, then they eventually go to college and finally become young adults. So, you get plenty of skinship!

This drama is really fan-service to Jun's fans or anyone who loves classic C drama troupes. I really do appreciate these high cheese, high adorable shows because it really puts me in a good mood.

Sometimes you need all the cheese.

Smile to Life is a super easy cheesy drama to watch. It had every troupe there was and then some and that was great. I love my melodramas and I love my rom-coms, but every once in a while, I really enjoy a cheesy C-drama.

I didn’t know anything about ALS and I probably wouldn’t watch the show if I knew someone with ALS or if I had ALS because I’m sure the drama doesn’t portray the disease accurately, however, I know a little more about it. Also, this is the first drama where someone has it, so it was different for me.

The actors were cute and had super great chemistry. They are pretty together and I’m not sure on the FL age (she looks young), but I was happy that the ML was 25. It’s kind of hard to watch actors who look like they are 16, especially during the kissing scenes.

I liked the wardrobe was cute and they didn’t frump the FL too much (because I really hate it when they do that). The outfits were overall cute, however due to budget the sets were horrible and the dubbing could have been better. This didn’t deter away from the drama, but it’s a low budget drama, so you take it for what it’s worth.

I liked the casting, the friends were cute the villains did their job at being villains and I appreciate every troupe that was thrown in there. Loved the jilted ex-girlfriend, love the fall-kisses and silly jealousies.

Overall, if you are looking for a cheesy C-drama, you will get all the feels with this one.
