absolutely not

Every character in this show is a piece of shit. When I first thought of this sentiment, it was mostly a joke. However it's just not a joke now. This has to be the dumbest, most irritating, agonizing and childish group of adults I have ever seen. The lack of communication at their grown age, the lack of critical thinking at their grown age, the assumptions made AT THEIR GROWN AGE has me so mad I spent my time completing this series that I think its the worst kind of passion I've had towards a drama since I started watching them. I would recommend this show to nobody and I mean that. In fact it was so bad of a show that I spent the entire last episode waiting for it to be over so I could leave this review. Its unfortunate because at the start of the show I really did hold out hope, but I just can't get over how trashy the entire cast of characters is along with the storyline. If I could give it a 0 I would.

please do not waste your time

The storyline makes zero sense.

This guy shows up and he's supposed to be a super trendy chef coming in to take the position of the ML, but the only thing he does thats supposed to be 'unique' and 'different' is add colorful ingredients to his dishes and carry a rumor that he steals other people's recipe?

Let's not even begin on how the conflict made no sense. Apparently he was an actor, but he can actually cook? Like what?

Finally, the ML gets pissed and leaves (as he should) only to say "if you get acknowledged I'll forgive you", even though the viewers, the main judge, and the characters KNEW it was rigged from the beginning? and it was even stated so?????? Which somebody explain to me how there were two other judges, and we didn't even get to see their results, nor did it make sense how only 1 judges votes mattered.

Finally, I'm glad that the ML ended up getting what he always wanted in the end, but honestly it seemed like a cheap ass copout so that it would seem more believable that A) he was okay with being fired from the position he literally began with as an opener of the restaurant, and B) him and his love interest were able to end up together happily.

Overall, this show has one of the most garbage story plots I've seen in a minute. Oh and don't even get me started on that annoying ass song they played throughout the whole show. Please, have some diversity in the OST next time.

I might've experienced purgatory and its this show

When I was deciding whether to not I wanted to watch this show, I wish somebody had written this exact review to tell me these things before I hit play.

First of all, without spoilers, this show is basically school uniforms and no cell phone use = protests = depression and suicide. That is it. Do not look for any real emotional depth or any real discussions on mental health because this is not the show for it.

The entire time you watch this it feels like a fever dream. I feel like I’m in the twilight zone. I felt like I was gaslighting myself the more I watched. It was exhausting.

They throw so much at you for the entirety of the show, which is really all just discombobulated bad script writing, that you think the storyline is very complex and its not. Its a school with a prestigious reputation getting backlash for two trivial things which causes people to rebel like they’re fighting for a real cause. It tells you that when you’re in the middle of these “controversial” and “harmful” living conditions you will be driven to killing yourself.

Not to mention that the relationship between the two leads started out with a promising enemies to lovers arc, but ended up as a repetitive case of stalker syndrome where the two ended up in ridiculous confrontations until we’re suppose to believe that they have so much chemistry that they transcended the shackles of their hatred and oppression to end up as soulmates. Please spare me. It didn’t even start to feel authentic until they stopped pretending like they were on a metaphorical battlefield and admitted they’re better suited just dating. The second lead couple was by far the best thing about this show and had normal progression.

As for the actual protestors, if it was that serious they would have been suspended or even expelled from the beginning and half of the show wouldn’t have even happened. Another case of saying something will be done but it really just being empty threats.

Finally, the elephant in the room that is episode 11. I will say that I called the plot twist about half way through the show as they made it quite obvious. Many people thought it was out of character but that has become the normal for these kinds of things so it was quite predictable. I mean the rest of the show was unbelievable so why shouldn’t the villain be too? I will agree with him though on the reason why he did it. They were really going to let the whole situation go away even though the conversation was originally about accountability. There’s no justice in that. The lengths were extreme but the truth had to be known one away or another.

What I can’t wrap my head around is how he got exposed for being the villain and everybody was angry, but then they went right back to their normal relationships with him and it was like it never even happened???? Are we serious? That doesn’t even make sense!!! I guess the whole “I’m sacrificing myself for the greater good” rah rah shit actually worked.

Overall I’m so glad to finally be done with this dumpster fire of a show. No I didn’t watch the last episode because even that was too much more to bare. Let this be your deciding factor of whether or not you wanna experience this mess for yourself. (Ignore people comparing this show to Not Me because that’s just an atrocious comparison.)

not bad but not impressive

The first half of this show was very slow moving and boring. It started to pick up and get really good but then started to drop off again at episode 7.
Also, I just cannot get behind the conflict; it was stupid to me. I don't agree with nor condone Jae Yun's actions and I think he should have at least explained if not 100% apologized for the hurtful things he said. Overall, if you have some time to spare and less exciting things to watch give it a try, but you're honestly not missing anything if you don't.

I could literally not even tell you what just happened, but I'll try for the sake of a review.

I'm seeing a lot of 10 ratings on this, and along with just needing to get some thoughts off my chest, I've decided to write this.

First, I was looking forward to the premise because it was unique and original, and I trust Japanese dramas to not let me down. However, I feel like the show was just a convoluted mess.

Let's start at the beginning. So a guy accidentally falls into the situation with another guy because said guy thinks that the first guy has a crush on him because of the eraser loaned to him by his friend who happens to be a woman. Even though the show was only 10 episodes, at 22 minutes per episode, I couldn't tell you how many times the two male leads went back and forth over some feelings that didn't even seem realistic in the first place because A) there was no relationship development and B) they had little chemistry to begin with. Then he decides that he really has fallen for him (after the second episode? what?) which leads to even more hijinks because now there's misunderstandings about if the feelings were ever real and then the second lead finds out the first never really had feelings for him but now he supposedly does and now here we are in a twisted ass mess because nobody can get their story straight.

If it sounds like it doesn't make sense, it's because it doesn't. The rest of the show after is him finally confessing (again), them deciding they're going to try "dating" and as much more drama as they can pack into 6 more episodes because they have to fill the rest of the show with something.

By the end I was just straight upset because it felt like there truly was no resolution whatsoever, let alone satisfaction. I mean they're supposed to be "together" at the end and all of it was supposed to be worth it, but you spent so much time watching them discuss metaphoric feelings and go in and out of a relationship that was barely even there (I mean the most "romantic " interaction they ever even had was holding hands,. *insert eye roll*), that it just felt like you were on an episode of pranked.

I cannot stress enough that this is so not worth anyone's time. But do as you will if you feel like being confused and frustrated.

Why did I bother?

For the most part I really enjoyed this.

However, you're telling me we invested all this time into Hee Soo and Ye Min's story and we didn't even get to see the conversation?? I feel like I was robbed of all the time I spent investing my emotions into their relationship because there was 0 resolution and we're just supposed to assume based off that happy Christmas montage at the end that they're good. Also, I highly doubt that Bong Deok would have wanted to be around Seol Wan and Cheol Soo but maybe thats just me.

I thought I liked it, and I don't hate it, but like what did I just witness?

First of all, this movie had me experiencing whiplash at least 2 to 3 different times. It strangely feels like I went through some type of trauma even watching the movie in its entirety. And yet it really was nearly perfect.

I think the only thing I would have to reprimand it for is the fact it probably did not need to be almost 2 and a half hours. Just when you thought everything was over and wrapped up, they really said but wait there's more.

I would say if you're curious about this movie, know that it is dark (trigger warnings for attempted rape and extreme violence), it is gritty, and you might be confused for at least part of it. However, everything slowly starts making sense and you'll be able to get a better grasp on what's happening from there.

As for the ending, regarding the grandfather, uncle.. whoever the fuck he was...I did not expect him to be that much of a psychopath. It really took me aback. And as for what's his name, even with him being an attempted rapist, a liar, a con artist, and a weirdo, I still thought his ending was a bit extreme. But to each his or her own.

wow

The perfect enemies to lovers story.

perfect story. perfect cast. perfect acting. perfect pacing.

One of my favorite things about this show is that the story progressed so flawlessly without spending too much time on any one arc or problem. Although, I will say the one downside is that the ending was sort of anti-climatic, but I was still satisfied if that makes any sense.

Overall, I wish I could rewatch this again for the very first time. It definitely has become one of my favorites and I'll really miss anticipating the next episode.

Season 2?

uh...no.

Only watched an hour of it. The entire time I was caught up and yet still confused. There was no build up to anything. Just a bunch of unnecessary side stories and flashbacks and rape scenes that are supposed to explain how a man fell in love with his bully. Personally I think one is an emotional pussy who uses violence because he can't own up to his own emotions and the other one is a sadistic sociopath that needs help. Either way this movie is terrible and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Its strange as hell, but still captivating

I didn't even know if I was going to make it through the first 5 minutes, and I ended up staying up for 5 hours to binge watch the show. Irony.

The only reason why this show isn't a 10 for me is because I felt the last episode dragged in certain spots, and I thought the forced relationships of the side characters was really odd. Especially because nothing came from them.

Also, telling two boys they're going to be kicked off a show for not getting along and not sharing enough "chemistry" is wild, but putting them in forced proximity for 10 days, watching them fall in love, and then kicking them off the show anyways should be considered a sick social experiment, but it gave a surprisingly deep message that made the last 10 minutes really powerful.

4 stars though. Let this be a sign to give it a shot.

Whew thank god thats over

The lead couple had almost no build up to their romantic relationship. To whoever at the production studio that needs to hear this, wiping icing off of someone's face does not constitute as proper build up to them "loving" each other enough to risk futures to be together. The story also got taken over by the side couple, which quite frankly makes zero sense, but I digress. I also skipped the entire wedding because in the name of that one Tik Tok sound...we do not care.

This wasn't bad, it just wasn't good. The airport scene was super sweet though.

wanna give it a 0 but thats not possible

The first episode was entertaining. Entertaining to a point where I was wondering why I had never heard of this before. Then I watched more and I realized that this show is so damn bad. First, it never explains what a deluded is; we have no backstory for anything, we're just thrown in and expected to know what everything means and what's going on. The bad cheesy end shots, the terrible fighting sequences and the weird will they or won't they of the main characters among everything thats going on, along with the fact that they barely know each other and aren't even supposed to like each other makes the show so underdeveloped and cringe-worthy to watch. Not to mention it feels like you're watching paint dry and the episode would be 6 minutes long.

I'm sorry but I just can't finish this. Maybe somebody else will love it.

couldn't even make it past the 10 minute mark

This franchise is horrible. Like out of the year I've been watching dramas/bls, I've never seen such a failure of a series franchise than TharnType/Don't Say No.

First, lets begin with how this series was supposed to elaborate further on Fiat/Leo, but it starts off with them becoming a couple. That doesn't even mesh with the literal summary of the show, which was the reason why I started watching it in the first place. Second.... all I have to say is that love island ass music and cringeworthy drive up scene at the beginning of the episode.

This series causes me so much embarrassment but at least if it was done well I would be able to tolerate it. The writers need to be fired.

Rating the acting 1 star because I feel bad for the cast.
