Misunderstanding that amount to nothingness

Intro of this series was amazing, plot line seemed like something fantastic, i mean who does not want to be sucked into the world of immortals and their crazy power tussle and upside down romances but this drama is a whole bunch of that, that ended to nothingness. Don't get me wrong the storyline was making sense and each episode would keep you waiting for how it all began a 1000 years ago but the moment you arrive a 1,000 years ago the entire misunderstanding the show was built on amounts to nothing!!!
You now begin to wonder why you stuck to the drama till the end!!!
With characters that could not be tied exactly to the main characters and it makes you wonder what the writer was trying to achieve.
My honest advice, skip this drama it is not worth your time!!!

Very disappointing build up

When i started this drama, i had high expectations and somehow in the middle the plot line became boring, draggy and completely flat. And then towards the end the suspense suddenly picked up from nowhere and once again had me at the edge of my seat. It could have well ended with 16 episodes to be very honest but somehow the draggy scenes just kept coming. The story line was good and what kept me going was to figure out who actually pushed the FL's dad to suicide and what was the backstory behind ML's amputated leg.
The romance for me felt flat. The kissing scenes between the ML and FL was terrible in the begin and somehow it got a bit better at the end. Their chemistry was off too. By the end i just wanted to fast forward and wrap it up, and that is exactly what i did.

A very stupid and annoying ML with zero abilities to manage his affairs

Watching this drama suddenly reminded me of another of the ML's drama: you are my destiny. Both drama are very similar. A forced marriage, love comes later, then the ML is a complete idiot, they separate and he realizes what he has lost or is about to lose and how he feels and then boom he is back chasing the FL and somehow they make it to the end which is a happy one where the FL forgives him for everything. But in between you see how the ML can not handle his old flame who manipulates everything yet he trusts her completely without trusting his wife, very stupid character. But alas we all crave a happy ending and that is what we get even if he does not deserve it and most of the time i just wanted to smack the fool so hard..hmm...

All messy and crappy ending

You are a looking for a romance that would have you swooning this is the wrong movie for you. And trust me it never gets better at any point instead the last 3 episodes throws you into a frenzy of a mess without proper resolution or it even making any sense to the audience. The supposed ML is a loose canyon that lacks direction on whatsoever, our FL went from being in love with him to a messy situation that if you look properly she owed no one an apology but somehow she was hurt and still served the ones who hurt an apology because the writer decided to make it seem like the SFL was the one who was hurt initially. A whole truck load of crappiness going nowhere.

Love on the ice rink

This is one of the best sports drama of 2021!!!
It reminded me of Skate into love in the beginning as both are similar but the storylines are so different. My favorite thing about this drama is the story progression. The way the actors are able to make feel their journey, their pains, struggles, breakdowns, issues and the inspiration and drive to strive for you dream to achieve what you want to achieve!!! The romance is very addictive!!!! This drama had me smiling, crying at some point and sometimes i just laughed hard. It is really a rare gem of 2021 in chinese dramaland!!!!

The struggle to define and understand one's emotions. Never say Never!!!!!

I had put off watching this drama due to bad reviews here and there but somehow this drama kept drawing me in. Anyway i gave into the urge and finally watched it. Do i regret it? No!!! I don't. Here is why: if you have ever been in a series of relationship and have lost the feeling of being in love caused by betrayals, then you would understand this FL's journey, her fears, anxiety and her need for something solid and someone who could give her security. There are alot of people out there very similar to the ML's character, they never believe in just being with someone for any period of time, why? Because they don't know better, so they keep coasting along until if they are lucky enough they meet someone whose personality is so attractive that it begins to open them slowly without them realizing to a different understand of what it means to have someone to walk through life and be in love. This drama depicts each characters perception of what love is, while some characters have an early understanding others struggle with how to deal with the emotion or if there is even an emotion to deal with. And the big question how do you know if it is love???
While most people may argue that the first half was good and the other half very cliche, i don't hold that view, may because i have seen similar situations play out. There is always someone in the corner waiting to pick up what you throw away. It may not be immediately but someone is always lurking just around corner to either pick it up or try to destroy what you have because they want what you have. And sometimes it takes a long trip to understand yourself, what you really want in a relationship like our FL and ML, because at the end of the day no matter how much you deny it, in one way or another we all crave being loved without interference of any kind from a third party.

Very cliche, not memorable yet cute and fluffy

If you are into dramas that keep you on your toes and have waiting for the next scene, this is not the drama for you. But if you are up for a storyline you have seen over and over again with lots of kisses in the romance department. Then this is the drama for you. The acting was good. So if you love adorable, cute, fluffy, steamy kiss romance, this is the drama for you.
In terms of character development not so much effort in that effort.

An extraordinary story and production

Where to begin!!!! This is one of the most amazing , well-told and produced story. The CGI is top notch. The fighting scenes, costumes, characters, and how each episodes leaves you wanting more. This was a stellar production. Kudos to the production team, the actors omg!!! Each character displayed and portrayed his/her to the fullest!!! You can understand their pain, turmoil, feel and live through their joy while watching them. Yang mi and william chan has always been one of favorite actors, Xu kai cheng's character as the complex Emperor endeared him to me and at the same time there were scenes that had me cringing.

Now to what i dislike: physical and emotional abuse never grows into love as depicted by the Emperor and consort shurong. But somehow the writer flipped and abusive and down right cruel emperor and transformed him into an i will died for you lover. Not something i appreciate. He should be one or the other.
The push and pull love game between jiaming and haishi was exhausting and overly used for me. One minute he seems to draw her close and the next minute he is pushing her away and constantly hurting her feelings. Yet everytime he seems to look her way she comes running like nothing ever happened..like really???!!! Come on!!! The villians were just!!!!top notch!!!
But all in all i strongly recommend this drama!!

Worst storyline and character development ever!!!

Where to begin!!! I got past season 1 of this horrid series. This series should have never come on air for any reason whatsoever. This is the first time i have hated an entire cast of a series. Let's begin with the Kim Jojo our FL, a victim with a victim mentality that the writers never thought to grow her character, very flat no development whatsoever,no direction. Every thing about her character irks me nothing intrigues. Then there is Hye young, i mean i knew from the end of the first season that they would make him and JoJo the endgame but the progression to that was just flat. It was as if they just forced to individuals with prior basis together. Their pairing is the worst i have seen in years in drama industry!!! To be very honest i would have preferred her ending up with Sun-oh, together this pairing had more life to them and had the potential of being a stellar couple( forget his jerkish behaviours for a minute) yes i was actually rooting for him. He made moves even if they were borne from childish tendencies and a balance of pain and the need to escape his lack of loving home and where he found happiness. The writers trying to give him a so-called happy ending with yujoo was just downright horrible!!!
I mean come on!!!! This pair is so useless. They just ruined the entire script. I kept trying to get to the end of this horrid eyesore but i just couldn't, i had to stop just before the last episode because i saw no reason to continue watching this disaster!!
Do i recommend this horrid drama to anyone hell no!!! The only reason i even rated it a 5.0 is because of some of the supporting characters like sun oh's mom, gul-mi ( a character that actually developed) and sun-oh's portrayal of a rich broken boy who just wanted to fins happiness.

Going well until it landed in cuckoo land

This drama could have easily been one of the best k-dramas in 2020, but for a terrible finale that took a trip to the cuckoo land. The build up of the story was fantastic yet somehow the writer thought for some unknown reasons that he must force his audience to embark on an emotional rollercoaster and snag a finale that leaves you questioning if the writer is okay...i mean like really really okay!!!
The cast did a stellar job. Their acting was so perfect but for a terrible execution of a finale. When i began this drama i rated it an 8.5 but but the time i got to the finale, it was a 3.5!!!

An almost perfect blend of comedy and family corruption

What i liked: Lee he nee's character as prosecutor is amazing. Her ability to play a seemingly dual character navigating between good and bad cop is almost convincing. Kudos to jin seo yun, she was able to portray your classical villain whose need to be recognized by her father turned her into a woman whose conquest for power and rulership overturned every other thing in her life even family. Story progression was steady with cliffhangers that left you anticipating the next episode.

What i dislike: the introduction of romance but ML and FL seemed to blossom out of nowhere and yet somehow the writer tried to make a connection of meeting in the past and a case of mistaken identity. Very poorly done in my opinion. There was also the lack of enough screen time for FL to play duality of her character and by episode 2 her heiress character disappeared into thin air and she reappears somewhere mid series with a new face with no self development whatsoever.

The highlight of the show was Lee ha nee's as cho yeon joo who won me over with her ability to appear to show that she was seemingly corrupt and would do anything to rise in the prosecution office and the hidden part of her reason for being a prosecutor in the first place and her comedy side.

Bickering couple vs an extremely selfish character who somehow makes it to the end

This is not one of those memorable dramas. So if you are not bored, i'd suggest you watch something else.
*Things i liked about this drama: The first couple wu you and he xi ya, their bickering is top notch. There is a constant need to out wit each other while slowing falling in love with one another. The process is funny and interesting to watch. Next is Lu Man and. Li qing, their journey is admirable and how they grew into accepting their feelings for each other. Lu man is not just your silly hare brained heiress, she actually works and motivates herself to do better amidst her shortcomings.
As for su fei 's character my favorite part was the dive into her insecurities and the scum of her first love/crush. And lastly to jia yi who depicts clearly the struggle and emotions and battles of a single woman, powerful woman in the work place vs a married woman in the workplace. Her ideologies against the backdrop of singleness vs married and the inequality and bashing woman face in the workplace be it as a single woman or as a married woman.
* Things i disliked: he xi ya unnecessarily withholding the truth about lu man's sister which was resolved in a rushed manner towards the end of the series. Lu man very stupid tantrums on behalf of her amazing sister(pun intended), her unprofessional and frankly stupid approach to things that had to do with business. Business is business, a smart corporate woman should know that yet a character behaved like an annoying child and caused unnecessary havoc due to unhealthy idolization of her sister. And finally the extremely selfishness jia yi who's selfishness is one of a kind. She is amazing to her friends but to the man she married, she is intolerant, unnecessarily controlling, inconsiderate, and down right down extremely selfish but somehow at the end of the drama we are believe she found happiness with the man she married but divorced and her friends are constantly there to give a patting on the back for being the most annoying and selfish person ever.
In all other character were good and hilarious where they needed to be. It is just an okay drama, watch when bored only!!!!!

A love story against the backdrop of hidden secrets.

Story: This drama could have been an amazing one but too many loose scenes and two characters that both seem lost who keep coasting by till the end with no exact resolution in sight. Don't get me wrong, the story is good but the infusion of a sister who manipulates everything down to suicide yet somehow we are too pity her and understand her is just ridiculous. Her character is one that i dislike the most, she is manipulative, selfish and uses her brother's affection and husband's guilty to get away with anything and everything. Normally i love a good villian but this particular one had me cringing because her character was irritating to watch and i saw no need to understand her given the circumstances. Kudos to the ML and FL and other supporting characters though.

A silly FL with no direction

This story started out okay, but somewhere along the line the tried to make the FL seem smart but she was just very dull and stupid half of the time. You would get frustrated and angry with her character stubborn even in stupidity. It was an eyesore. Kudos to the ML and the SML that who was a villain worth watching.
The secondary characters in between gave me what i was looking for in terms of smartness, lovesickness and ability to adapt. I would have preferred the FL's sister as main lead, she had composed, smartness and what have you in the right amount . she and her lover were worth watching.

The unnecessary use of flashbacks

This is amazing story of a man who struggled and broke through issues that he was going through and a woman who sought to use tech as a means of saving lives.
While this story is good and has no pot holes, the unnecessary use of flashbacks became very unnecessary at some point. The drama could have well ended with 25-30 episodes, but they just had to flashback to the past, flashback to the present, reflashback again to the present that we have already seen. Oh my god!!!! So much flashing back i got tired and was just fast forwarding.
Notwithstanding it is a good story with very good acting from both main leads and other secondary characters. Good chemistry too.
