Bold and Liberal

This drama was heavily researched with a very liberal point of view. It is no surprise that this drama received quite a lot of hatred. It depicts the stories of modern marriages in the recent decades and the reality of life. Women living in the 21st century in democratic countries exercise their right to go after what they want; it is refreshing to see divorcees advance in life with a broader perspective, not wasting time lamenting over husbands who are not worth fighting for, and are mature enough to be glad with the happy endings of the mistresses (or 2nd wives, in this story) as they receive their own. I have never been married nor have I ever been in an affair so my view remains neutral but this drama leans more on the cynical, realistic side of marriages in this modern age in democratic countries. It's not your typical love affair drama. It is modern, bold, and liberal.

A Masterpiece

This is the reason why the drama industry exists. A rich cultural history brought to life through superb script, excellent direction, and top-notch performances. It drew the flow of Korea's political blueprint stemming from the roots in Confucianism, the abundance of substance in this drama will leave you with excitement and stimulate your intellectual curiosity. It depicts the best and the worst of humanity. Different ideologies are presented, filled with realistic perspectives that put strains on personal interests and rise of heroes. Don't miss a single second. Have your breath taken on every episode. Get inspired with art and history.

Average Performance, Poor Script

No amount of celebrity fame could have salvaged this poorly-written drama.
For a story with an art theme, this drama is quite the opposite, lacks insight, no character depth, and petty plots, as if written by a bitter 8th grader who failed high school. Real art takes research, details, insight, and depth.
It is quite surprising that it was actually turned into a TV drama when there was nothing to show but the fashion runways.
The fashion is up to par, but there was no story to tell.
The episodes were monotone and repetitive; no realizations, no transitions, and full of childish backstabbing that you see among kindergarteners. The story contains zero art. The only thing that's interesting about this drama is its title which did not deliver. The actors did their part quite well. No matter how good the acting, the lack of story in this 100-episode drama does not leave a mark and has no value. It should not have been produced. It's a disgrace for a Korean drama.
