Stunningly Acted and Shot Film

Egoist is in one word, heart-wrenching. It will pull at your heart strings and really reminds you how harsh reality can be but at the same time, it shows us how beautiful love can pull us from the depths of darkness. The acting from both Hio Miyazawa and Ryohei Suzuki is truly commendable. They gave their heart and soul into portraying these characters. Hio especially shone in this role, he was radiant, charming and beautifully vulnerable (definitely deserved those awards). The subtle gestures, tone of voice and the eyes really make their relationship believable and so poignant. Everything is said through action, not just words. The chemistry is also very palpable and incredibly shown on screen, especially in those love making scenes. But in the end, does Ryohei’s character stop being an egoist, is he purely motivated by self interest or something else? (That’s the real underlying question) Even after the man he loved passed. It’s showcasing the need to be needed, to push your ideals onto an individual to perhaps make yourself feel wanted or to feel better. So are his actions truly altruistic? Overall, a thoughtfully melancholic and moving film about loss, acceptance and the human condition.

Don't Sleep On This Series!

You're My Sky is such an underrated BL series! I wish more people knew about this wonderful gem of a show. I stumbled upon this while scrolling on IG and I saw a fan edit of the 3 couples - I was curious and I was instantly hooked. I admit, it's a slow burner for the first 1-3 episodes but after that point, I swear the cast, story and beautiful music will capture your heart. The couples are all very loveable and endearing with amazing chemistry, beautiful faces but with talent too! Each couple are given enough screen time for their stories to develop and progress, which is a refreshing change. Honestly, the cinematography is stunning, the music so memorable and appropriate based on the emotions portrayed on screen. Not cheesy or tacky in any shape or form, and it isn't your typical BL. Love it so far! You won't regret watching this.

gold tier standard BL content. no contest, easily the best series!

The second season of We Best Love cemented the fact that this series deserves far more recognition and attention than it does now. It's on a whole level of its own in terms of acting, directing and script writing. Fighting Mr. 2nd just blew me away the moment I started watching it, from the obviously talented cast; especially YU (who is a newcomer and this is his first ever acting role), who just radiates and shines in his role as Shu Yi. Sam Lin who plays Shi De also stuns and amazes audiences with his vulnerability especially in the second ep of this season. Both YU and Sam are formidable actors with incredible talent, and I would even dare say their skill shown in season two deserves all the awards (international recognition even). You grow with the main couple, you see their faults and you love their honesty - ultimately you will fall in love with their love for each other. It's rare to find such a gem in the BL world, where you just immerse yourself fully into the romance, not thinking about the gender but completely enthralled by the passion. I can't wait to see what these actors and the series has in store for season 3 (which is confirmed).

BEST BL OF 2021! HANDS DOWN

I never write reviews for any tv show or series but after I watched We Best Love, I needed to tell the world how incredible this show is! You will not regret watching this as it will tug at your heartstrings and you will never want to stop watching this over and over again. The lead couple played by Sam & YU are the highlight of this series, their chemistry is unmatched and unlike any other BL couple I have ever seen. The romance is believable, immensely adorable and so heartwarming. Also, might I add, the kisses are beyond realistic and passionate! I have not seen an on screen couple kiss like they do, and it will give you all the feels. Yes, the show uses a much used background of "enemies" to lovers in university but the pace is brilliant, the direction is impressive and the characters are so lovable, you will be fans by the end of it. The side couples are also worth sticking around for. I would highly recommend this show.
