Switch off your brain and enjoy.

This series is short and cute but you need to switch off your critical thinking brain to enjoy it. They took amnesia to a whole new level.
The story wasn't anything original. It was pretty fast paced which i like. There were many inconsistencies but i choose to believe it's because of the length of the drama so no time to explain and flesh out plot points. The acting was decent, nothing special. The music did not leave an impression. It's an okay drama to watch while bored but i won't be rewatching this in a hurry.

Bizarre plot, inconclusive ending

This story is all kinds of ridiculous, in a good way. Switch off your brain if you want to enjoy it.
I watched this on youtube with terrible english subtitles so it's possible that a lot of what might have made this a decent watch got lost in translation. Anyways, the FL is a reporter who happens to be a major fan of the SML who is an actor on the rise and a rival of the ML. In an attempt to get the SML's autograph she gets hit by a car and wakes up in the body of a rookie actress who shares her name and happens to be in a contract marriage with the ML and in a love triangle with the SML. Of course the ML notices the changes in the FL and their love story developed from there.
What i liked about the story: the plot was so silly it was amusing. Like the ML kept kissing her in the name of rehearsal just because his heart was beating, like it was supposed to be a big deal when he wasn't a vampire or some such thing.
What i hated about the story:
- the absolute lack of logic. There was no explanation for her soul entering the body of the other Song Yufei, like the usual abnormal weather events etc excuse that you normally see in dramaland. Then this girl wakes up in a new body and doesn't attempt to find out what happened to her old body after the accident. Except for her reviewing the parking lot cctv, she doesn't go home or her job or find her friends or family or anything. There is also nothing about what happenes to the 'real' song yufei.
- the ending. Okay, so the story isn't so bad that you want to drop it but one of the reasons i kept watching is to find out how it concludes but it has an open ending and leaves you with more questions. Maybe there will be a season 2, otherwise it would not make sense.
Anyways, it's an okay watch for a quickie drama but i would only watch this again if it gets better standard english subtitles. Just so i know if i missed anything in the translation.

Good Costume drama but open ending

I enjoyed this drama. It started reasonably well but sort of derailed towards the end and the ending had no resolution so i'm hoping their is a second season. The question of who Feng Wu really is was never answered.

The story is good enough to keep you hooked along but it was a little rushed in the last couple of episodes and we still don't get any proper resolution as to who Feng Wu is and where she came from although it is clear she's from the future or modern times.

The romance was sweet but a litle lackluster. The second male lead was just pitiful and made you want to root for him even though you knew it's a losing battle. I thought they would pair him up with a repentant Jinna but that was just my desire to see him with someone who will love him back.

The actors did a really good job in this movie imo. They all carried their roles well and the fight scenes were quite impressive.

The scenery and visual effects were just wonderful in this drama and added to the enjoyment of the whole series.

I would definitely watch it again despite the open ending.

Cute and simple movie of self-actualization

I came across this randomly on youtube and i decided to watch. This movie is very simple and very basic with certain unrealistic elements but still a satisfying watch.
The plot is nothing new but it is different in the direction it took. It's your typical mousy office girl meets her highschool crush at work and tries to win him over with a makeover but instead of the romance being center stage it's more of a catalyst to her journey of self discovery.
The Female lead executed her role flawlessly. She allowed her mother to dictate and direct her life and suppressed her creative talent because of the bad memories her mother associates with art. I felt sorry for her and was frustrated by her docility in equal measure.
I loved the existence of shiny, her confident, assertive and outgoing alter ego who manifests as an imaginary friend until she comes to the realization that they are one and the same.
The male lead was kind and sweet. He saw her shortcomings and didn't actively force her to correct them but subtly suggested how she could correct them and in all cases it had to be her decision. I really liked that.
I don't consider this a romance, more a coming of age movie. The romance fell short. The ending existed only to give the movie a romantic ending. There was no lead up to it or anything. That was annoying but not enough to spoil the sweetness of the movie.
It was an easy watch, quite enjoyable but i won't rewatch it in a hurry.

A good show, frustrating at times, but good.

It's your basic arranged marriage scenario with a very intrusive family and annoying second leads.
Everyone acted their roles really well no matter how annoying or disturbing they were.
It started out good, then got frustrating in the middle with the constant machinations of the 2FL and 2ML and the main couple falling for their gimmicks all the time. What happened to once bitten twice shy?!
Anyways it got draggy in the end and the ending could've been better but all in all a good show.

Editing could've been better. Good beginning, open ending.

This series started well. Chinese dramas are known to be lengthy but this one is just 16 episodes so i had to watch it. Now i feel the short length almost ruined the drama because of poor editing. Scene transitions sometimes felt abrupt and disjointed, leaving you wondering 'what just happened' or 'how did we get here, we were just-' But it's not enough to spoil the flow of the story.
The beginning was very promising and the story was good and funny but it sort of detailed towards the end but it's still a good watch. The ending leaves you with questions and makes you wish for another season to answer those questions.
The romance was sweet. At first i didn't like the triangle especially because the FL was married. I knew who her husband was from the start though they tried to make it a mystery but it was pretty obvious. I don't like dramas where the relationship between the FL and the 2ML is overly developed because i feel it destroys the illusion of the relationship between the main leads and doesn't allow you to buy them as a couple. Here, the FL seemed confused between the two male leads then all of a sudden she was certain who she liked. (A result of the poor editing i was talking about) I did like that even though the ML strongarmed her into marriage, he still pursued her and tried to get her to love him without revealing his status as her husband.
I am very intrigued with the sub plot of the conflict between the North and South kingdoms and i would've like to see more plot development of that, hopefully in the second season.
The actors did well. The Male leads were dreamy and absolutely gorgeous. The FL was adorable with her big eyes and quirky ways. I loved the loyal maid turned sister too and her love story. There were a lot of comedy, some a little over the top, this wasn't meant to be a serious show but also some dramatic elements too. And all roles were executed perfectly except the miracle doctor, he was just plain annoying.
The ost was sweet and melodious. I would watch again but not in a hurry.

Mystery and intrigue, mild and slow burn romance

I have never seen so many red herrings in a show before! The plot was like an onion, the more you peel the more layers get revealed particularly the villains.
The romance is not the intense or passionate kind. It's a slow burn that builds up into something enduring. It was lukewarm and not really thrilling, it was just a little sweet but i liked the progression of the romance. It was realistic.
I didn't like that the villians were revealed one after the other and dealt with from one episode to the next until the real one was exposed. I would've like the suspense to go on until the later episodes of the series.

I liked the whole rose prophesy thing but i also found it hilarious. She doesn't even see the past but the future so why were they so scared of her knowing their secrets which should be in the past. They knew they were still going to do bad otherwise why be afraid of what she saw when it hadn't even happened yet. But i guess it was because of the way she reacted that put them on edge.
The soundtrack didn't really leave an impression except maybe the opening number. The instrumental was used severally in the show.
The acting was good, nothing exceptional, everyone sold their parts. The little girl took the cake.
I would definitely watch again.
