Over all, I ended up loving this movie.
Though, pretty sure I'm character/actor biased. Lol

First starting off it seemed like the usually (boring) slow-burn, but pretty quickly things started to pick up. I think the humor parts are what really kept this movie going for me because the surrounding scenes complemented it perfectly. It was serious and tense just enough to not make your head explode and the funny moments were timed perfectly to where it was just * chef's kiss*

Was not, repeat, was NOT a fan of Chen at first. But i wasn't a fan of Duan Mo Ze either..... I think previous shows and movies have made me sus over anyone who is "to nice" like he was. Lol.

In the end I did like Duan Mo Ze. Still iffy about Chen. But with the ending I think she did make right choice though lol. She is definitely not the shy, weak, take the punches kinda girl i thought she was. Lol

Even though this is the typical love triangle storyline that we can't seem to escape from, I still loved it.

Okay but really though, I started this show just to see if it would grab my attention at all... ummmm Hours later and totally completed, I would say yes.... Yes it did. Now I need to find the rest of the series before i lose my damn mind.

I didn't know this was part of a series until I was near the end and felt like there was a lot more to this than they were saying (glad to know I was right lol)

There really isn't much I can say about this show without giving to much away, really. I think the actors are fucking phenomenal because most of the time I felt like I was reading someone's journal or looking in through someone's window. Everything about it was raw and real.

I wasn't expecting that ending at all if I'm totally honest though. Not sure what I expected but..... not that.
Not that I'm mad or anything, but I might have looked at the screen like "did my ship just sink!?" Lol

Really hoping the rest of the series is as amazing as this one.

I loved this show up till around episode 7. It seemed pretty lighthearted even though it had its issues. But once it got to those episodes... My blood pressure stayed high, my jaw stayed clenched, and my anxiety stayed in the clouds.

I'm trying so hard to sort through my thoughts on this show but all I can think of is one constant scream. Therefore, I have a massive headache. I think episodes 7 and up really fucked with my head because legit, I can't remember the show before those episodes! I know that sounds crazy. Trust me, I know. It's weird because I KNOW I liked the show up till that point.. so why can't I remember? It's like once I got to that point, it was like a "my life is a lie" situation.

I hated Hanabi though. Really and truly. She goes on and on how much she loves (what the fuck is the teachers name?) Kanai? I think? ANYWAY -- I honestly feel like she mistook her infatuation with him as love. He's been there since she was a kid and honestly played a big male part in her life, so it kinda makes sense, I guess? What doesn't make sense is how through this whole (and yes, I mean the WHOLE show) is how they made Akane the "heartless bitch monster" of this series... I mean, don't get me wrong. She was. She was a awful piece of shit. But while she was that, Hanabi knew this. She saw what a shitty person Akane was and pretty much was like "I won't be like her" ONLY TO END UP BEING JUST LIKE HER!!! LIKE WHAT?!?!
I made me want to throat punch her so fucking bad. I get teenage hormones are the worst. I do. I really do, I've been there. We all have. But it doesn't mean we want to use every single person we know just to feel a void. Gosh damn. Be normal. Drink alcohol and do drugs like a normie. I'M FUCKING KIDDING!!! DON'T DO THAT!!! I love the man and all he does... but lemme tell youuuuuuu he pushed me in this show. Gosh daaaaaamn he pushed me. (there I go clenching my jaw again; gotta do what you can to keep yourself from screaming until your lungs deflate) How can you see you're falling for a person and genuinely be like "eh fuck that. I'ma chase ass instead" because that is pretty much what he did. How can you see someone's true colors and still want to pick them? All while saying their toxic behavior is "cute"? Bruh... what!?

Let me just say, even though I wanted Hanabi and Mugi together -- fuck that noise. How many times did they talk about a relationship only to turn right around and fuck around with someone else? Like I shit you not. The SECOND they were like "well... let's be a real couple then?" Hanabi went and had sex with someone else. WHILE TALKING TO SOMEONE ELSE AT THE SAME TIME! WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR DAMAGE!?!

Now a character I really did like was Ecchan. I was not expecting to see a character like her. She deserved so much better than what she ended up with. I think that is what made me hate Hanabi to the max was how she did Ecchan. How can you call someone your friend and lie to their face like that? Even if they say they're okay with you using them.... Smh, I don't care who you are. No one WANTS to be used. Don't do that to them. It's a bitchy fucked up move. Ecchan deserved better and she never should have forgiven Hanabi.

By the end of this show I pretty much hated everyone except like 2 people (Ecchan and Kanai). I still don't understand that ending and it pisses me off. All this time it seems like Hanabi was just getting by with her fuck toy and one friend? Yet at the end, dudes were tripping over themselves to ask her out and she walks away with a group of girl-friends. fihgwaslkhaflsk WHO THE HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE!? WHERE DID YOU COME FROM!? I hate gaps like that so much. Especially like this because there were no gaps. Everything happened so fast it was damn near lightening speed so it makes zero sense that all this happened as fast as it did.
They set up this ending and buildup like Hanabi and Mugi would get together and of course those that watch it know was a bust that was. That ending made me scream so loud in frustration. After all of this bullshit -- what was the fucking point? You expect the main characters to have some kind of story to finish off with but nope. It ended up the side characters that finished off the story completely. Why? What was the point? I'm so aggravated over this show.

Will I come back and fix this review? Maybe when my head stops pounding. Maybe not because I want to move on from this as soon as possible.

I did NOT plan to get that invested...

Have you ever randomly clicked on a show just to have something playing in the background as you do something else? This was one of those shows for me, only when I clicked it, I fully intended to just let it play as I went about my work buuuuut... from the moment it started - there was no cutting it off. Even my family stopped what they were doing to start watching this show.

My ONLY warning to you if you see this show and want to watch it, clear your schedule because you are about to miss a lot of sleep to finish this show.

I ended up loving every single one of the characters.... and I do mean Every. Single. One. Those from the start that you just hate with a passion and want to hit with a car.... loved. Lol. Hats off to the writer of this show because it is really hard to take a hated character and make them loved. Least for me it is. Because when I hate someone, there is no changing it. Lol. It goes to show that the growth of all of the characters are powerful.

The twists man. Oh gosh!! This is the PERFECT example of the quote "that's what you get for assuming." *hides in shame* I was so ready to hate so many of these characters only to have it shoved in my face that what I *thought* was actually HELLA FREAKING WRONG!!!

Because This Is My First Life is one of those shows that you need to watch every single scene though because you'll be lost for a while if you don't. Not that I minded; it was like crack. Lol When I finally did need sleep - I had to actually force myself to shut it off. Which... did last long, mind you. Like I said, it's crack. Hahaha

I want to say this is probably the first drama I have watched where I haven't completely ripped into something or someone. X_X Though don't get me wrong, there was one character I love/hated. He was such a amazing person in the end but he reminded me of someone that makes my skin crawl. So it was always mixed feelings with him.

It's pretty much Gonjiam. The only likeable character was Jaemin (I think that was his name. The actual ghost hunter with brains)
I still don't understand why they all came together? They seemed to not actually know each other but did? It's all a bit weird and up in the air for me.

While I did like the movie, them fighting at at each other's throats CONSTANTLY took so much away from the movie for me.. I would under if that happened out of fear but even from the beginning the main dude was a asshole and annoying as hell.

I don't understand the reasoning behind letting him outside to see the headstone and show no bars on the door either. That confused me..

I felt more sympathy towards all the trapped ghost. I really wonder if it would have made a difference if they attempted to unlock doors/cages. Cuz can you imagine having ghosts back you up against the main thing keeping you all there? Lol but I get it. It's just a movie and I'm looking waaayyyy to much into it. But still.

With Halloween coming up, this would be a great movie to add to your list.

Then after three years he wants to make things right because she's on a show to help her move on? I get it, but I also don't. and the constant "I'll protect you [blah blah blah]" -- like he didn't treat her like crap those 3 years ago. I don't know. like I said, I'm really conflicted. Because with it as short as it was, everything had to be rushed and cut. What was the reason?

I haven't written a review in so long but I just feel way to *much* about this.
Also this might contain spoilers, if that's even possible though since the synopsis and preview tell the whole story.

It's been 10 years. 10 YEARS since you last saw this woman. Who, yeah, I get it. You loved her, but... come on. 10 years and suddenly she shows up and you aren't even together a whole day before she is asking you to kill her husband? My dude.... come on. and why the hell did you agree to?
I get wanting to do something. I do. Especially to protect someone. But again, you haven't seen this person in 10 years and you have a really good life... you're just going to throw that all away?

Maybe if they didn't start the movie off the bat like that or maybe they spent more time together to show us this "bond" they're supposed to have, I would care more or at least understand. But as is, I don't understand.

All through this movie and I do mean ALL THROUGH IT, it just felt like Nanae was using Rei. She was throwing out red flags like crazy. Even when they were teens. It felt like she knew Rei loved her and she could use that to her advantage. Rei on the other hand, I have no idea. It was weird how she constantly said she was lesbian but still ended up having sex with two guys. I get shit happens but, you didn't need to sleep with the dude to kill him honestly aaaand the second dude? I'm just confused.

This movie gave me one hell of a stress headache. It was a absolute dumpster fire. Even watching it on 1.5x felt like it didn't end it quickly enough. and the ending? All this went down and through the whole movie Nanae talked nonstop about wanting to die. like bitch, why did you get Rei involved in the first place then?! and for the last line to be "I'll wait for you" -- well you fuckin better. Though I doubt you will. Wish there was some after credits scenes or something cuz it ended with me more pissed off than ever.

I tried to like this movie. I really did. I had high hopes for it but when I tell you it is BORING, I mean it is comatose boring.

The movie had a ton of potential but they CRAWLED through everything, what should have been a hour movie was stretched into nearly 2 hours. Now, if you like slow burn and love the "build", then this might be a great movie for you. Sadly, for me, it wasn't. I love my stuff fast paced. This was so slow that when things finally did start happening, I didn't care and was half asleep.

I care nothing for the characters. I can't even tell you any of their names. Lol which is sad.

Though I will say it shows a lot of what I'm sure idols go through with the companies and it makes me sick. But it's really no secret. Smh.

I really wanted to like this movie. The cover and synopsis are amazing and I'm such a horror/paranormal junkie that I thought there would be no question- that I would love the heck out of it.

I was wrong.

I know "slow build up" is a big thing in horror/thriller, but come on... don't put your audience to sleep. I wanted to cut this off 5 minutes in, that is how slow and draggy it was. But I kept pushing myself thinking it would get better. Again, I was wrong. As soon as Hiroki showed up, I knew I would stay for him and him alone because I saw ZERO hope for this movie actually turning in to anything. I was right about that.

I felt zero connection to the characters and if anything the main female irritated me to no ends. When she would panic and over react her breathing. I wanted to scream shut up. Everything she did was over reacting (this is my personal opinion, don't come for me). I wish they had casted someone better for her. Maybe then it would be a little better?

The storyline was the same as any other, honestly. I'm not hating on that though, there are a lot of horror shows/movies out there that are pretty much cut outs of a different show but they somehow make it just as good.... this one fell short. Way short and left nothing to the imagination. Not far in, you pretty much know who is who and what is what. No mystery at all. Lol

This show kept me so freaking stressed out that it really wasn't that enjoyable, but I couldn't bring myself to drop it.
I wanted to love it. When I first started it, I was hooked instantly. I did love it. But then around the middle, things just got to be too much and it was more anxiety driven. Lol I mean, yeah this would be more true to life, I guess because not everything is lucky or happy but ... this show made me like (almost) every character at first and by the end, I gave zero fucks about Hibiki and Kurumi. I stopped rooting for them by the middle and when my favorite character died, I set the speed to 2x just to get it over with. There were a few shocking moments popped in but it still didn't satisfy me. As for the ending.... I'm sus af and I do want to at least try season 2 and see what is going on with Kurumi and her genes. Lol

I fee like if maybe the pace had been a bit faster, this movie would have gotten a higher rating (from me).
It started out pretty promising, especially with the storyline. But, it wasn't to long before I had to set the speed to 1.25 then 1.5 and even then it felt like it was dragging a bit and I lost interest.
I wish I could say I loved every minute of this movie, like I really thought I would -- but I didn't. Don't get me wrong, I really did like the storyline and I found it really interesting but I don't know if it was the pace or what, I was just ready for it to be over.
Hats off to that ending though. I actually thought I knew down right how it would end, glad to say I was wrong. Lol I like being surprised like that. Though the ending was surprising, it was also fucked up.

Probably the worst of the three. I said what I said. Lol
The first story wasn't that great honestly. It was probably the worst of the three in this series. Wasn't much to it and more gross than anything.
The second story felt like Jeepers Creepers minus eating people but I loved the ending to it. Lol That was justice.
I probably liked the last one more even though it broke my heart. See, this is why I can never have a robot. I would feel so bad if anything happened to it because I would see it as human, lmbo.

Sorry this review is kinda shitty, there wasn't much I actually liked about this series and I had to have it all set to x2.0 just to get through it because the pace was so slow, I felt like it was dragging.

Okay, maybe not because everyone's taste is different. Some might see this as a work of art while others, like me, wish it didn't exist. Lol

I've actually watched this movie a few times..... because i keep trying to find the point, reason, SOMETHING as to why this movie is what it is.... but there is nothing. It's still confusing and makes zero sense imo.
