Romantic movie when you need one

There is nothing new here- the storyline has been done before many times. But what makes it really work is the actors’ sweet, intensely romantic performances. The two leads have excellent chemistry. The music suits the movie, the sets work well, the supporting actors have little screen time but handle what time they have with ease. If you need something to remind you about the importance of treating our lovers with great care and romance here it is. Highly recommended for those snowy or rainy days to lose yourself in the feeling of being swept away watching a depth of love we all want to find and keep.

Want to watch mukbang with stories about regional Korean food with Korean stars?

Want to watch mukbang with stories about regional Korean food with Korean stars? If so, this is the show for you. Celebrities of all kinds host and guest on this show: chefs, commentators, actors, idols, and comedians all come together to celebrate the foods of Korea. I sincerely hope there will be more seasons, and that maybe they can travel this time sharing more of the beauty and foods. Highly recommended for lovers of Korea because here you really get tastes of so much of that country. They made me hungry, made laugh, and healed me a bit during our times of isolation.

Too weak

From title to finish this drama is just off. The title is misleading, the acting is simply okay, the writing and storyline are very weak, and even the ending lacks much power. The female lead’s character is too naive to begin with, too unforgiving for most of the show, and is still unwatchable to the end. The actress tried her best, but a bad storyline and writing are hard to overcome. The male lead’s character has very little passion and simply has given up. Again this seems more a problem of direction and script than that of acting. I cannot recommend this unfortunately.

Some of the worst dubbing ever

Where to start- Awful dubbing, horrible direction, pretty people, unbelievable story. The acting is not bad, but everything is over done in this drama. Nothing even vaguely feel possible or even desirable. The episodes are short- which is a blessing, and if you want to laugh at sheer foolishness this does pay off. It is a bit like something you could watch in a film class about what not to do, ever.

So many things went wrong here, but by far the worst is the dubbing. The voice actors’ tone rarely match the character or the emotions. There seems to be no attempt to match the lips of the screen actors. This is unusual in good Chinese productions where often the voice actors are superb.

Totally do not watch unless you are in the mood for a farce.

Well acted, somewhat problematic romance drama

There is a lot that is really good in this drama. The acting is really good, the script flows pretty well, and there is in my opinion strong chemistry between the main characters. The problems lie more in the directing. There is massive overuse of flashbacks which end up placing a very heavy handed forced third person omniscience over many of the emotional scenes. This shortchanges the actors, the cinematography, and the script leaving the watchers unable to be interpreters. Also the massive use of song tracks and backing music again does not suggest, it pushes towards emotions not always earned.

It is a family drama in addition to being a romance, in fact it is arguably more the former. I guess, I would call this a relationship drama- it is about how the many interconnected lives evolve. I do recommend this if you are in the right mood to have a good story a bit forced on you.

Soap Opera, Farce, or just too melodramatic?

Or maybe all of those. This is a mess so far, awful writing, very misguided directing, with hit or miss acting. The ml is great, fl is fine though written badly, the ml’s mother is a wonderful veteran actress, the rest are a mess. Mostly the problem seems to be intention- the writing and directing seem to want this to be like some of the worst soap operas of the 90s and 00s. If so, a SHORT, smart and witty drama might have worked. But this is a very long, dumb and boring one mostly. There is also zero romantic energy between any characters so far. I will updates as more episodes become available if I can make myself watch more.
